I have spent DAYS trying to get my ISOs to run. I must've watched almost a hundred videos, not a single one of them mentioned needing keys. I have formatted and reformatted and installed and reinstalled and nothing worked, when all I needed was a file less than a megabyte. Thank you so much for ending my heartbreak! Your video was clear and concise and explained the exact error I was getting! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
PS3 HEN + Plasma 1080p 3D tv = bliss. I love it. So easy to mod compared to Xbox 360 RGH3. I have both. Hint: For best performance, set PS3 output to 720p and let the tv upscale. You'll get better framerates. I do the same on my 360. I recommend Webman MOD + Irisman. That is all you really need.
If you're using the NTFS drive and simple file manager you don't need to split the file. As you've decrypted the ISO file you don't need the key file. have fun!
around the 8:30 mark you talk about how using Hen is riskier with regards to having account/console banned. Could you explain why its riskier or point me in the direction of one of your videos thats already explained. Currently using Hen to play my backups but still sync trophies, bad idea?
From what I can gather not all of the protection on the CFW apps works as well on PS3HEN in terms of masking that the system isn't running official firmware. Having said that it seems to be the unauthorised systems calls that are most prone to get you banned and I don't think PS3HEN uses those. My take on the matter is to just avoid connecting to the PSN system, but if you want trophies etc. I guess you need to.
Great video! Just one question, since there are some games that are not available on pkg type, is it possible to convert a .ISO file, or a game folder into a pkg file? I am just asking this because I am lazy and like having all games available without mounting them...
Yes you can... I think. You'll need PS3 ISO Tools to get the files out of the ISO file and into a folder, and then PS3 Tool Collection to convert the folder to a package.
What's the frontend game selector at the start of this vid? I don't see any way to get that with anything you installed in this vid. I need something. I copied over 350gigs and it's possibly over +200 games. The scroll bar on the left side is so long it takes forever just to scroll down without stopping hehe! Need some sort of cover-flow thing. I see part of webman games has slauncher and shows discs but not the stuff I previously mentioned that is in the 'game' (lower case) folder. Those show when rebuilding the database in the default ui but not in the slauncher cover flow :-(
There are a few options. The one I showed was multiMAN. Just press the L1 button when on the multiMAN xmb to cycle through it's game display options. The best option is to use ManaGunz. I'll be doing a video on that soon. It does the full 3D box art cover flow.
I feel like i've done some of this a bit backwards, maybe steps 1 and 2, first i installed Hen, Update *.91, and then later put in a 1tb from a dead forza xbone, now i'm up to games, around 3:00 you say we need to use USB, could we also just move the PS internal to an internal port on a pc while we move games over if that's one of our options, my transfer harddrives are all laptop drives on their last days. it would take a week with their 5Mb/s speeds
I' not sure if the pc will recognise the PS3 hard drive. Give it a go and see if it works. The other option is to use the built in FTP server in MultiMan or WebMan. I find WiFi very slow, but ethernet should be better.
@@BytesNBits Better yet, have you ever tried using the PS3 to dl iso's direct? i've used the webpage to download homebrews off brewol, i know that much works. cuz yeah while i have 11tb of Roms, Ps3 is about 8 of those 25000 games xD
@@BOXING_LOUNGE i ripped nearly every single disc i have to iso and run them from my nas (its an option in modman) and found they run/install a little quicker. I did the math and even running through the ps3 100mbs network port its still reading the info about 50% quicker than it would directly from the bluray drive. If only it had gigabit lan!
@@rimboeglitch590 My understanding is that ISO's are one file. Less time searching for files, increased smoothness. You laugh but my receipts are there to be 👀
How about GAMEI folder for extraxted psn games ? It can show on webman mod, but i can't run the game ? I try move the extradted psn game from dev/hdd0/game into dev/usb00/GAMEI
I'm not sure if the files in the game folder can be moved. I find most of the PSN games come down as package files which will install themselves correctly.
Yep best to convert all to ISO BECAUSE ALOT OF GAMES DONT RUN RIGHT IF NOT IN ISO FORMAT LIKE GTA4 FOR EXAMPLE.MOST GAMES ACTUALLY RUN A BIT SMOOTHER AS WELL BUT DEPENDS ON THE GAME AS HOW AS MUCH😊
The fastest way to transfer stuff is a hard-wired network cable through FTP (which btw is automatically enabled when running multiman etc). Using a router/network hub with the common blue network cable is the easiest way rather than using a less common cross-over cable and direct hookup. edit: Well if you just want to copy one file any way will do, but if you need to transfer 1TB it will take a week with USB hehe! USB is only 2.0 on PS3 so not that fast for multi-gig files. For HDDs, natively the PS3 can't see any external drive over 2TB. Does the simple file manager allow larger HDDs over 2TB?
@@BytesNBits It has to be set up. Your PC network port has to be set with fixed ip address and then on PS3 change internet settings to use wired connection, set up ip address etc. It would make a good video for you next as it's relatively simple but requires several steps. I'm transferring one iso now at 15MBytes/s compared to about 700kbytes/s on wifi. It would be faster on a better PC but ths old laptop only has a slow ethernet port.
The GAMES folder is where our homebrew apps will look for the JB folder folders for the games. The game folder I think is just a PS3 system folder. Please leave it alone as I guess it will have some ongoing game data being saved in there.
Simple File Manager doesnt pick up any of my NTFS drives, USB, or HDD, I seem to be stuck, right now. Also had an issue at Fat32 stage where it couldn't see package files to install e.g multiman etc, but was able to hit triangle and click on install all packages and it loaded them 🤷♂️
I'm not really sure what to advise. Try all your USB ports in case one's a bit dodgy. If you've got another drive you can try in case the one you're using is incompatible. Make sure you've formatted it correctly and are using an MBR drive, not a GPT.
@@BytesNBits Simply didnt like the USB drives I was using, reverted to the HDD I took out of the PS3, formated and it recognised it, all sorted, super tutorial, thanks
@@BytesNBits Okay, finally got them installed after deleting two times, but now they won't read any usb or external drives with games. Any better apps to read NTFS?
Also, the way I set my PS3 up is to use a FAT 32 external drive for folder games, and a different external NTFS drive for ISO games. 90% of games can be folder since they don't have any files larger than 4GB.
@@BytesNBits Also you show Nintendo on that ROM site and Nintendo might see that and strike the video... Might want to consider clipping that part out...
