This is what UA-cam reviews should be. Great video. Well done Frank, helped me past the whole ebike guilt issue.
Thx man
As a big guy who has just ordered the Performance 500, I found this video extremely well made and informative. Thanks very much and enjoy your rides out this year
Thanks
Best review found on this bike, great video and nice bike
Thx
Good on you Frank 👍🏻 I'm hoping to order a Cube Hybrid Pro/Performance 2022 soon and this review was very helpful
You'll love it. I only found support lacking a lot with insane long waiting times to even bring it in.
We ended up doing the repair locally although it was warranty.
The bike itself is still awesome.
Fantastic video, thank you Frank! I've just put down a deposit on my Reaction Hybrid Pro 500 to collect in December. Can't wait to ride it!
Awesome. You'll love it
Fantastic Frank. Following a stroke it's given me the excuse to go over to the dark side. Just ordered the 625 performance but know nothing about ebikes at all and never ridden one. Therefore I found your review brilliant. So insightful and helpful. Thankyou.
More than welcome. You're going to love it.
Glad to see you enjoying the new bike Frank! I've just dragged my old Hybrid out of the shed and over the last couple of months have started cycling again. During the lockdown here in Scotland we were limited to travelling only 8 km, but you could go for a daily walk or cycle. So just to get out of the house; the bike seemed like a great idea!! (and I do need to get fit again!). All the best!!!
I've always loved cycling. But didn't do it a lot due to corona. Don't want to be stuck between other riders. So I now try to ride at times it's very quiet
@@FrankDoorhof There's been an amazing resurgence in cycling here because of corona. Most of the bike shops have very little stock and are having to wait for supplies to come in. I've found that if I go out early in the morning there are only a few dog walkers on my usual route. The early morning light down by the river is beautiful:I must take a camera some morning!!!
Indeed. Same here.
They only had this one in one store in the netherlands. Otherwise it would have been January.
Ordered my pro 625 yesterday! Hills around here are something else!! Looks like you’ve a nice network of paths there!
Great vid.
We live in a great area. Also several MTB trials
Thanks for this honest review
Thanks.
Nice informative video Frank, nice trails there in Holland, thanks & enjoy.
Still love the bike :)
Great video Frank
Thx
Super video and info, your right about Cube mtb, i have a regular mid- to high end Cube MTB from 2010 and it has been a great buy for me..
Thanks. Still love the bike ;)
Frank, I thoroughly enjoyed your VLOG on the Cube eMountain Bike. I’m seriously looking at a Cube (when I can get one due to the Covid sellout)! You are truly Blessed to live in such a beautiful area! I would love cycling through that beautiful area! God Bless (and keep on cycling)!
Thanks David. Much appreciated
Love the review Frank, I'm looking to buy this very Cube bike and I'm a guy of a certain size too and was worried I'd be too much for the bike.
But you've gave me confidence in my purchase buddy, so, many thanks.
You'll love it.
Thanks Frank I am buying on your review
That's Awesome to hear and you'll love it
I would love these one Bike Lanes along the Street! Just driving in Turbo than at half battery turn back home. Nice Review :)
Correcting: Your whole route is awesome
Trust me it's much more fun off-road :)
What a great video and real beautiful surroundings too.e bikes are still a workout but just take the edge off some of those killer hills.when on the flats you can pedal 100% yourself and if there is a bit of head wind you can adjust as necessary.great intuitive video as I'm looking at one of these for my girlfriend and it seems the components aren't of cheap quality.really enjoyed your video.👍🏻
I'm a big guy and that motivated me to do the video. Seemed like people could benefit from it ;)
Thanks Frank. This is a very good real world review and very helpful. I am a big guy myself and looking at this type of ebike. Nice photography by the way. I didn't realise that you had mountain bikes in Holland ha ha but if you do manage to find some hills I would be interested in how you get on.
What a coincidence this weekend I rode around moke in the netherlands. I chose the red route (which in the netherlands doesn't mean anything just... The route) and combined it with purple which was more technical.
I'm still terrified of drops and roots but in all honesty it's getting much better. The bike is awesome. Compared to my previous cube reaction pro I feel it's much more stable (heavier bike) climbs through sand are still killing your legs but at least I now get just as far as the guys that are half my weight ;)
Overall I can't recommend emtbs enough to people that are a bit more heavy. It really makes the difference between stepping off where others continue and just riding along with the much lighter riders.
Great review 👍🏻
Thanks
Great video - really useful.
P.s. you’re so lucky having those cycle tracks..
We live in a beautiful area indeed :)
Thanks glad you enjoyed it
Great video Frank, just bought one with 625 power-pack and software update to 85nm to the motor, I am 64yrs old, also heavy 20 stone +, short/stocky, but it's a delight to ride, although I did change the saddle, just done 12 mile ride this afternoon, and I have to say I do ache which means I must have been working out, although mostly I was in turbo mode, there's no way I could have done that on a ordinary bike 🚲, anyway awesome video, really enjoyed it, I'm in England by the way.
Awesome to hear. The range is very far for me personally because on the road I hardly use it to he honest. Mostly I'm riding above the 25
But in the off-road parts it's so much more fun. The loose sand parts of one of my ride I always avoided because it would kill my legs and it's only a small part of a 20km ride. Now I just add it and use eMTB mode to go through it. It's still tricky but so much more fun. ;)
It makes it possible to do things you always wanted but never could due to age or weight. It's pretty awesome
Which saddle did you get and which motor unlock?
I didn't unlock the motor. I don't think that's the right thing to do to be honest.
Très bonne video, bravo !!!
Thx
I don't have an e-bike but I get why people use them. For a start, you are more likely to go riding and when you do you will go further than you would without having the assistance of the motor. Great review
For me it's the distance thing indeed. Love it.
Hi Frank! Excellent review, as has already been said. I was really curious about the location you filmed this in.
It's Schokland. It's a unesco heritage area very close to our home.
@@FrankDoorhof Thank you so much for your answer. As of 12 hours ago I own this bike as well :) What a sensation.
Awesome. Enjoy it. I still do.
Got mine this week..same apart from 625 battery...love it...battery hasnt dropped any bars yet but am also using it in off mode for the exercise but its great on the hills...not a problem on an e bike...
Same here I mostly cycle at 26-28 and the battery didn't drop a yesterday and that was a ride with 3 off-road parts.
I'm more that happy with that. It was a real worry for me seeing mostly batteries don't do what they promise if you're a bit heavier
@@FrankDoorhof may I ask you a question Frank.
My cube reaction hybrid creaks like crazy and has done from day 1 but thought it was just new brakes needing to bed in .
If i hold the brakes on stood off the bike and push down the handle bars it creaks and makes all kind of metallic noises from the front..back and bottom of bike.
Just wondered if you have this same experience.
I have done a video and have sent it just now to the bike aupplier but they are 300 miles away as was purchased on line.
It rides fine when am on the bike but sounds awful if you are pushing it then brake or push down putting it away.
Thanks if you take the time to reply
It depends on the sound but a lot of bikes will have a breaking sound. I know all my bikes did. But it should be metallic that's wrong.
You got crazy flats.... :-) On Corfu it is all up and down ...
Tell me about it. It's pretty boring to ride. But it is beautiful
BEEZER bike, I have always expected to see a Dutch man on a bike,I'd love to cycle any flat land.
We do have some..... Climbs
Ok hardly lol
Enjoyed the vid thanks, what pedals are they?
Thanks
The pedals are cube.
Nice video 👍. Btw it's not cheating... It's evolution 😁
I agree. Never had so much fun
Hi Frank great video I’m going to look at one of these tomorrow but a 2022 model ... I,M a big guy too 131kg am I on par with you weight wise just so I know re the range etc ...Cheers Paul
Still own the bike and even do some smaller drops with it, still sounds and rides like new.
@@FrankDoorhof are we about the same weight my friend just so I know it’ll handle my old body lol
It will handle it fine
@@FrankDoorhof thanks Frank
It’s funny how some people ( anti e bikers) think you just do nothing on an E bike, you can still get a good workout on one especially in eco mode!
I ride further than before and with the tracks it makes it more fun ;)
You don’t drive a bike you ride a bike!
True
Bedankt voor deze fijne video! Ik overweeg er ook 1 aan te schaffen! :) Mijn twijfeling zit hem in Sram schakel. :)
Het was even wennen.
I'm about to buy the same bike because my real EMTB keeps breaking (Turbo levo) so this will be my extra bike for doing my job deliverys in Norway , I'm worried about how it will work i can't effort another full suspension EMTB.. I'm mostly worried about the torque and doesn't like the QR axles...i really wish they still had the hyb cato model ... but this is cheaper so I guess it's a good deal , I'm not in mood to be disappointed by this bike so I have very low expectations if it can do the job I'll sell both bikes next summer and add one month salary on top and buy a awesome emtb.. if it lasts a year in Norway is still to find out
Don't know why so negative even before you have it. Yeah a hardtail is different but the motor is the latest Bosch and that's one of the best according to several reviewers and experts.
So I would just wait and see what happens. You might be surprised.
@@FrankDoorhof I hope so but I'm really worried because it's my job,,, if it was just for recreational use \hobby it would be different.. I have to make it work..and I will be really happy if it takes me into next summer without problems..my job is pretty hard on the bikes ,I even broken the inner axle in my rear wheel and I'm snapping chains about every second month and before I went tubeless i punctured every week and have to true my wheel's every six month,, so if I get positively surprised by the cube reaction it's a really good bike
Has to be an exciting job. Or bad roads ;)
Over here the roads are easy ;)
@@FrankDoorhof some places we have good roads some places their is none and Google maps aren't always pointing you in the most convenient paths and it's kinda steep in all directions and very harsh winter's but I love my job and it's good workout even with emtb's which I would not use if it was flat nice road's and plus degrees the entire year..i get really bored when I haven't worked for a few days but then I go and have some fun on my bike exempt from when it's broken.. like now luckily specialized just updated the insurance with Two extra year's on the model of turbo levo i got because the motor problem is well known now and a lot of customers complain and want their money back and owners who wants to sell to get the new models got problems with selling their old one's.. so now it's four years of warranty instead of Two..
Well that's a good thing. And yeah biking is addictive I know ;)
2:55 a tesla has been spotted
Could be ;)
Ik heb dezelfde. Hoe ver kom jij met de 500 accu?.
Verschilt enorm.
Had 32 km in E-Mtb stand.
Accu gebruik verschilt echt enorm.
I lost 5 Kilo just watching Frank ...
Wouldn't that be awesome ;)
You ride or want to ride a bike but everything is flat, boring, hard ... it seems to me that you do not enjoy cycling, that you are in the wrong sport ....
This route is just fun to ride.
Mostly i try to ride trails. We have about 5 in our area and 3 that I really like a lot with loads of challenges, drops and climbs.
Are electric bikes cheating...go back to riding a penny farthing
Huh ?
