I grew up there. we used to ride them quite a bit. interestingly if someone falls into those rapids or the whirlpool they use those jetboats for rescue as they're the only boats in the area capable of going that far up the lower River.
I did this with my family years ago and it was intense, there is a covered version if your not trying to get wet also. Definitely recommend it if your up there it’s a blast and bring a change of clothes and towels.
Similar rides available on the St Lawrence River in Montreal, Canada. Big hydraulics, very wet, full rain suits over major life vests, massive jet power you can really feel, lots of screaming. Definitely worth doing at least once.
Looks like alot of fun. This would be very cool for alot of people who still would like the feeling of racing through the rapids but can't dedicate time or money on a long trip like that, or for people who don't swim well or are not able to paddle with the group this would be the best idea!!! Looks like soo much fun!!!
That makes 3 of us, however, Id be willing to make a bet that my ex is eviler than yours, as she is legitimately the evilest person I've ever known in my life, and what's scarier is that she pretends to be the most holy Christian that ever lived.
How much Hp and Tq does the vessel require? -Yes, all of it. Are those turbine powered? Or piston engines? It never ceases to amaze me how we as humans just love to trifle with mother nature's power. Impressive vessels!
It looks okay and fun for a lot of people. If your athletic enough go kayaking on a level 3 or 4 river with other kayakers or try white water rafting where you do the rowing. Just suggestions for the younger peoples.
No way in a million years is that class V. Class V in white water rafting context mean if you fall off you line there is a strong chance you will flip, and once you flip there is a STRONG chance you will die.
At the level seen in this video calling that rapid a Class 5 amounts to classification inflation. If you were dropped off at the right place you could run that wave train in an inner tube no problem. If you folks want to see class 5 go watch kayaking video's of the Grand Canyon of the Stikine in British Columbia, Canada. Makes this stuff look like a Sunday afternoon at the local kiddie pool.
Looks real dangerous. Crazy fun, those boats book and just float through the rapods, its a great feeling. People were standing in one indicating no belts. They have 4 throwing rings for 30 people... how tf is he zoomed in on that lady and getting her voice from the shore. Crazy

Looks like fun, but that's only because the boat is under control with a massive amount of power at its disposal! If it was to lose that power, it could become an extremely dangerous ride out of control! One would hope that there are two separate independent power sources!
Those boats have thousands of hp behind them. They are very far from struggling lol. They don't even need to use everything it's got, the captain is making it enjoyable for the passengers, racing up at full speed you kinda would miss a lot.
After so many duck boat tragedies, what happens if the enclosed boat capsizes in shallow water in a manner where the doors are pinned shut? In the duck boat incidents, the life vests inhibited victims from escaping due to their buoyancy pinning them to the ceiling as well. Looks like fun, but could be a disaster waiting to happen.
