0083 is in my top 3 Gundam series, and Nina betrayal at the end is absolutely the worst thing about the show. I put her on the same level of how much I hate Minmei from Macross/Robotech, which unlike Nina, Minmei at least has a satisfying personal resolution at the end.
Oh god don’t even remind me of Minmei, I’m glad I watched the OG Macross instead of Robotech too so I wouldn’t get stuck with the same generic “new” song, Nina might’ve been smart when it came to tech and mobile suits but she was just a complete retard of a person I think only character I hate more than either of them is probably Shakti from Victory Gundam
Can we also mention that she built and designed nearly ALL of the war crime enabling machines in Stardust? The nuclear launch Gundam 2 & the drug requiring Gundam 3 for Gato to destroy the Earth and NEVER mentioned it to anyone dospite the 1st breaking a peace time treaty and allowing the colony drop to start...
I didn't mind the element of Gato being her former lover, there's a tiny hint of it when they fight after the attack on the Naval Review. It could have been used to create some great tension and drama but it wasn't. Personally had Nina gone to the colony to confront Gato with some anger and resentment about how he left her, and the possibility that maybe she's going to actually shoot him, I'd have found it more interesting. But it's Nina. She doesn't understand anything beyond designing mobile suits. She should have gone home when she disembarked from the Albion. The story would have lost nothing but an annoying contrivance. Clearly the best pairing in this entire OVA is Keith and Mora. You see almost nothing of their relationship and it's still a thousand times better than Nina/Kou/Gato.
Man, I'd almost forgotten about this bad romance. Then again, it has been almost 20 years since I watched this on Toonami, if not actually 20 years. I can't remember if I missed the last few episodes, though... (Incidentally, 0083 immediately became a favorite of mine, along with 08th MS Team and, of course, my first Gundam love, Wing.)
no joke, that "twist" soured 0083 so badly for me, it went from top recomendation for starting gundam all the way to "check it out but ignore the last bit of the ending as its terrible". seriously, i have no idea who had the bright idea of adding a love triangle out of nowhere in the series at the last minute.
100% agreed. This ruined all my feelings towards 0083. How can they be lovers? It is apparently added on when the Takashi Imanishi took over, because you can literally tell that in the episode 1, when Kato stole the Gundam, THEY OBVIOUSLY DIDN'T KNOW EACH OTHER AT ALL, none of them recognize the other after seeing their entire face and hearing their voice. This is bullshit
pretty much how i felt. the "twist" was so bad, it went from amazing, to mediocre in 1 episode. that and the "duel to pilot the gundam" at the start of the series are the 2 biggest problems. at least that duel is borderline filler to show kou as a smart pilot, but even then, he only won because of the power of the gundam. but that's a discussion for another time.
EXACTLY. she basically turns what would be one of the best "first" series for beginners into a "check it as your 5th or 7th series" for me. thank god they adapted thunderbolt, and made war in the pocket.
I'm so glad that you mentioned reccoa towards the end there, okay i get that she was captured by the titans so she had to follow their orders to stay alive but the fact that later when she has the chance to go back she permanently leaves aeug and betrays her allies/friends just because her romance with char didn't work out is petty as all hell and all of a sudden hate all men mentality just made me like her even less.
i will say, it is petty... but NOT unrealistic. and i dont say this because she is a woman, but lets not kid ourselves here, many people cant take rejection well. so while i hated that she did it. it was at least more understandable than 0083 contrievance. at least we can point to Reccoa as a bitter idiot who took things too far. besides, hathaway kinda did the same crap in the movie, so you know...
@@marcosdheleno well in Hathaway's case may have started with quess but it was ultimately the corruption he saw within the federation that changed him.
Have you ever checked out the 0083 manga? It fixes a lot without changing much of what happens, namely the love triangle drama. It’s a lot more fleshed out.
@@pauloazuela8488 the manga basically retells Stardust Memories with a lot more detail. Some plots were changed like how the GP01 had additional equipments and changes to the GP03S and D which basically explains why there are two version of the core block/fighter (IIRC the Core Fighter version was incompatible with the GP03D and had to swap out the core fighter with a core block), characters were more fleshed out and had alternative ending (Cima was portrayed in a better light and had additional crew), also cameos of characters from 08th MS Team, and MS IGLOO (the latter responsible for the Neue Ziel). The Manga even went past the anime focusing on Monsha and the remaining 04th MS Team pursuing Zeon remnants and is about to end in a couple of months.
There are some splinter factions that do, but the Delaz Fleet specifically upholds the ideals of the Zabi family. Captain Synapse flat out calls Delaz "the Ghost of Gihren Zabi".
My tinfoil hat theory is this was always meant to have a 'bad ending' since this colony drop incident is what leads to the foundation of the Titans (which in retrospect makes Zeta gundam make a whole lot more sense) They wanted to have a final out of cockpit confrontation with Gato and Kou like they do with all the rivalries, and they couldn't have the 'hero' Kou lose in a straight up fight even though he 'loses' because the colony drop still happens, so they make a emotional/compromised Nina be the reason he 'loses' and thus gives way for the colony drop that leads into Zeta (Although it is also the Federation's fault as they let the colony drop when they didn't have to).
Gato was a chad Nina is a modern woman Kou is the nice guy Nina misses chad will do anything for chad Kou accepts her after turning on him Kou becomes a simp
5:00 Right? Lol, I felt after what Nina did that she should have paid for it even if no one but Kou really knew, she should at least try to seek some redemption but no she apparently did no wrong. Kou was even to much of a simp to rat her betraying ass out, so she's just been sitting there this whole time like a possible spy even if her Gundam project had been canceled by a cover up.
Based on you saying you haven't watched other series, Garrod and Tiffa are among the best if not the best couple in Gundam. I also liked Harry and Kihel, as well as Zechs and Noin. Domon and Rain were a bit of a Takahashi couple for my taste. UC's couples outside of Banagher and Audrey I didn't really care for, and Beltorchika (who had the opportunity to develop further) being replaced by Chan left a bitter taste in mouth. ***GUNDAM AGE SPOILER (tangentially related to 0083)*** Given Nina's unpopularity, I don't know why AGE had to make an expy of her (though at least Romary had the benefit of gradually shifting his feelings for Asemu after the betrayal) confuses me (I think an AGE rewatch is good for me).
i quite like Lacus and Kira in all honesty, i feel like they fit well together and complement each other. it reminded me of Loran and Dianna(even though i felt really bad for Sochie, the show did great showing that it was a one sided love).
This is outstanding I am glad I'd stumbled onto this channel while watching Toonami/Adult swim Promo's. You're right Zeon were like those Yatzis but their uniforms did have some drip game.
I just finished the show and oh my God my blood is boiling. Of all the gundam that I've watched this show hands down has my favorite fight but good Lord that ending makes me so angry!!!!
Oh Aura how I hate her!! If there was a chance that Kou could have used the Stamen to blow up the ship she was on then I would have been happy that at least she was gone! But nope, she is shown alive at the end and just being the "I'm sorry I backstabbed you for my exe who was part of a Nazi group that caused enough trouble so the Titans could make their rise but I'll be your gf again, but if I find an old flame then I'm gonna do it again!" While I am staunch Federation supporter, I can admit that there some groups of Spacenoids who are not horrible dickmunches. If I were in Kou's shoes, I'd turn around and walk a few steps before flipping her the bird and getting a transfer to another base.
Wow, I don't agree with a single read on Nina's actions in this video. Nina's 'betrayal' had nothing to do with singular fixation on Gato, but her desire that neither be killed and that the cycle of violence end--she even said that part out loud. Tomino had a tendency to tell parallel stories in 0079 and Zeta, and it was clear to me that the writers of 0083 were making a nod to that by illustrating the macro narrative--the way the greater forces of the Federation, Zeon, and Anaheim Electronics perpetuated the cycles of warfare--on a micro level. Gato and Kou cannot bring themselves to stop striving for forces that only want to use them for their utility to kill. Even after the Solar System Laser fires the second time, in the aftermath, both are STILL fixated on the one thing they've cared about more than anything, even living: Kou, beating Gato. Gato, serving the 'ideals of Zeon'. Even though Nina is caught up in this cycle as well, as a designer for Anaheim--who profit off all sides, who work to keep this cycle going just like the rest--she's the only one who quits (or seems to quit, put a pin in that). She was ordered not to get on the Albion, but she did it anyway, which seemed to signal that she recognized that the only way to win this game was for people to quit it. I think she hoped she could convince Kou to quit his fixation on Gato. When she went to the Solar System Laser, I think she went with the intent of convincing Gato to quit, since she hadn't gotten through to Kou. Were her desires selfish--yeah! Did she articulate her feelings well? No! But that's Gundam, baby. It's about human beings and whether or not we can come to understand each other, and talking about whether or not people have the power to stop the cycle of warfare. This is always been the point of Gundam. Back to my 'pin': the main flaw I found in the ending was that it seems(?) like Nina has gone back to work for Anaheim. That she didn't 'quit the game' like her previous actions seemed to suggest. It's left very unclear, but I think the show's final images are deeply fatalistic, despite the sweeping and nostalgic music that plays in the end. The pilots get absorbed into the Titans--and we all know what a horrorshow they become--and they seem quite fine with this transition. Nina has gone back to work for Anaheim and Kou is still in the Federation as a pilot, with their only prize being that they didn't die. Maybe that's always been the point of Gundam, too.
Thank you for making this video finally somebody actually made a video about this I never like Nina ever since I saw that gun damn series and I don't think I ever will like her because she seems like a Benedict Arnold however thank you for the video I think that you have made one of the best videos I have seen for Gundam
To be fair, Nina and Gato being old lovers was only invented at the last minute after they replaced directors halfway through the series. In episode 1, despite seeing Gato face to face, she had no idea who he was. The whole love triangle subplot was literally conceived at the last minute just to create more drama. In fact, Gato strikes me as a man who wouldn't enter into a romance in most situations because he considers his ideals and principles to be of more importance than his personal happiness. Which ironically makes him more of a Byronic hero than Uraki.
she is a good looking woman, and chances are, Kou bit the bullet to help her, which is why they got all happy at the end, even though she did not deserve.
THAT....... is actually a VERY easy fix. The only real hitch I see in this is that they did a similar plot thread with Char and Sayla, so it would seem like a rehash, but still, it would've made this a LOT better and more believable.
i stumbled on a forum where they tried to justify her actions but bruh , wishy washy people is the worst. She wanted to stop em from killing each other but in turn prevent kou from stopping the colony drop.
Isn't Nina even worse in the 0083 Rebellion manga? I'd make a whole separate video about that. In the manga she freaked out putting a gun to herself over Gato, then proceeded to voluntarily fix the Mobile Armor sent from Axis, because why? Then when she tried to stop Kou and Gato from fighting, she herself put in the course change in the colony computers to change it from dropping on the moon, and instead sending it to Earth. So yeah... She's even worse in the manga. Even with all of the extra character detail.
Instead of the terrible love triangle they could have had her be worried about kou dying over his obsession of defeating gato and went to the colony to try kill gato to protect him
I think it's most probably a Japanese culture thing. Way back from the 60s, conservative Japanese society think of women as _fickle, indecisive_ , and "the only place for women is the home", and this stigma is still in effect in the 90s among conservative Japanese. Nina is most probably patterned from this stigma.
Successfully stopping Nina at all costs by any means necessary from stopping Kou from stopping Gato could and/or would have made Nina turn into a literally evil "I lost my greatest old love because of everyone's faults that got in my way" monster that fans thought she really was, I think. Even Flay Allster was a little more bearable than Nina for trying to save Archangel's crews by trying to warn them to escape from Dominion and Muruta Azrael's murderous rage.
To be fair - she's from Anaheim Electronics, who are basically secondary villains of the UC, fueling any conflict they get into and selling to both sides with no regard for the victims. The Gryps War alone was in many ways a war between Anaheim and Anaheim. Nina's betrayal and helping Zeon to drop the colony are perfectly in line with her company's goals. Ignore the cheap drama and you'll realise Stardust Memory is a story about Federation, Zeon and Anaheim cooperating with each other to fulfil their goals and lay seeds for the next conflicts.
In this story Nina just sat there and watch Kou risk his life against an enemy she slept with. Niña decided to keep Gato safe when Kou was about to finish him. 14 year old me was enraged watching this on toonami all those years back and still today.
1) How did Nina managed to have a relationship with Gato in the first place? It's like an american woman having a relationship with a SS officer in ww2! 2) Why is she allowed to work on highly classified military projects? Federation intelligence would surely know about her former relationship with a Zeon war criminal, and would put her on a watch list, preventing her from working on anything more sensitive than a toaster at Anaheim.
The difference in that is scope. Anaheim is stationed on the moon, and they are not officially affiliated with the Earth Federation. Additionally, they provided weapons to BOTH factions (Or, at least they did for Londo Bell and Neo Zeon in the era of CCA). Spacenoid kinship, I guess. My problem was how Gato's actions affect the present, as he continues to drop the colony, which is going to kill a lot of people, while she's standing right there. As for Feddy intelligence knowing about it beforehand.... I'm uncertain. In the era of the Titans, I'd say it was more probable. I've also been told this awkward love triangle was added to the script mid-production, so it could possibly be seen as something of a plot hole. Not in regards to her being a Gundam engineer at Anaheim, but in terms of letting her anywhere NEAR the completed units on a Federation base, especially when one of them is designed for carrying a nuke.
I don't get Nina, she shoots Gato and mortally wounds him, yet immediately protects him from Kou when he tries to do the same. As Cima would say: Who's side are you on anyway. The ending is so confusing too, one smile, that's suppose to make it all water under the bridge, or she's just hoping to get back together with Kou again now that Gato is gone Anaheim has nothing but crazy people inside. Then again, UC is just fully of crazies
Not to fucking mention, that they actually seen eye to eye in episode 1 and she even asked "Who was that?" when Gato entered the cockpit of Physalis. While I hate the conclusion of the character, I hated the writers even more to make such unnecessary drama.
The romance ITSELF was good once it got rolling. How it STARTED came across as them basically just doing Romeo and Juliet. Shiro meets Aina ONE time, keeps her watch, and is immediately head-over-heels for her?
this is the reason why I'm really worries for Hathaway since the blonde girl with Hathaway is the same wishy washy girl like Nina..........and he got dump once in Char Counterattack
Gundam X has the best romance in the franchise and its not even remotely close (not exactly a high bar anyway) but id say SEED FREEDOM made Kira and Lacus slightly more believable, in the original show its basically a plank of wood and a self insert staring at each other in a room and im somehow expected to believe that they should fall in love.
Not Earth as in the Federation, Earth as in all of the other innocent people who remained on the planet. She threw them under the bus, and could have gotten millions of people killed.
It’s not betraying earth, not actively trying to prevent a faking colony from dropping on earth when you yourself clearly was horrified by the result of Australia sounds like you are betraying your own beliefs
This was before the days when the Federation dropped colonies on people too. Not too far from it, as we see the rise of the Titans at the end of the series, but still.
I'm sure you'll be happy to know that your video here is responsible for a new conspiracy theory on the Gundam subreddit that there's a "Snyder cut" of Stardust Memory; People think Nina aided Gato with the colony drop thanks to you.
Its only because Anavel Gato is a man of conviction and ideals, not held down by earth's need for love and validation. How could Cuck Uraki ever compete with such a chad?
i shock because i excpect nina will end up with uraki but shes betray him for shity main antagonist. but can u tell me in the end of series nina back to uraki again or split up?
As near as I can tell, they end up getting back together. That frame of Nina smiling is where the OVA cuts off and fades to black. We don't really know much else beyond that, as far as the anime is concerned. I think the manga has a different ending.
Honestly thought Mora was far more an interesting female character and or Cima because reasons. But Moras and Keiths relationship far more interesting even if it had less coverage. Nina was not my bag and definitely apart of many discussions on stardust but Nina has been utterly hated in every group and I never sought out to find said groups. Its just gundam things, personally the relationships between other people from other gundam series are very interesting and in all honesty was not romantic but their was perfect building blocks and a clear foundation to build on. Nina is more like a bag of chips where you know its bad where as someone like Lucrezia Noin is closer to a healthy meal. Also just irrational behavior was very much present the whole series, Kou got what he deserved tbh.
The only thing I don't agree with here is about Kou "getting what he deserved". I honestly don't think Kou did anything that warranted a backstab like that, unless you count him kinda-sorta getting Nina's friend Lucette killed while hijacking GP03.

I’m gonna be Honest. But I hate the UC Gundam Timeline. Mostly because it’s poorly Executed! Both by Sunrise and Tomino! Tomino being the one that causes just as much conflict in the writer’s room and the creation process! And this is especially True with how he tends to write female Characters! Or tries to resolve stories with Female characters! Now Don’t get me wrong, the original Gundam was a Dark/War-themed series that voiced how war can affect and even damage people’s lives! He had some pretty interesting and competent Story moments! But he Could barely write women for Shit. Sala, was the only female character with a Competent Story Arc, but like most of the Female Cast, it was often tied to their Male Counterpart, their Paramour! But Sala was tied with her brother Char. But other female Cast members who were Part of the Zion forces ended up as useless or Dead due to their Spouse Dying! Save for Lalah! Who died trying to Save both Amuro and Char. Other Gundam Shows do better with the Romance department due to being away from Tomino! Has his writing has degraded years after Gundam.
that shit was all on Kou who was too much of an idiot thinking that because he piloted it, and read the manual, he knew more about the machine than her.
"Terrible and wishy washy" dude, shes traumatized by something. Nobody rationally acts this way. Think long and hard: stardust is actively punishing you for trying to romantacize a conflict. How bad you feel is literally the point. Life isn't like a story. People are complicated. Sit down.
You're correct in saying "Life isn't a story", but Gundam IS a fiction story and is NOT real life. The whole love triangle was still trash, and the point stands.

0083 is in my top 3 Gundam series, and Nina betrayal at the end is absolutely the worst thing about the show. I put her on the same level of how much I hate Minmei from Macross/Robotech, which unlike Nina, Minmei at least has a satisfying personal resolution at the end.
Nina not only betrayed kou but everyone around covering up a guy about to commit genocide, next to that minmay is just a spoiled girl
" I put her on the same level of how much I hate Minmei from Macross/Robotech"
She's not really that bad in Do You Remember The Love.
Minmei was annoying but never commit treason towards earth
I am here for the rage.
Kou Uraki approved this post.
no joke, that "twist" soured 0083 so badly for me, it went from top recomendation for starting gundam all the way to "check it out but ignore the last bit of the ending as its terrible".
seriously, i have no idea who had the bright idea of adding a love triangle out of nowhere in the series at the last minute.
Awful plot writing. Thats why Gundam Wing and MS 08th remains top tier
Replace I with We in the title. I really hate Nina and her dumb betrayal.
This is bullshit
true
pretty much how i felt. the "twist" was so bad, it went from amazing, to mediocre in 1 episode. that and the "duel to pilot the gundam" at the start of the series are the 2 biggest problems.
at least that duel is borderline filler to show kou as a smart pilot, but even then, he only won because of the power of the gundam. but that's a discussion for another time.
This character didn't just ruin the relationship, but the whole show itself...
I agree 100%
EXACTLY.
she basically turns what would be one of the best "first" series for beginners into a "check it as your 5th or 7th series" for me. thank god they adapted thunderbolt, and made war in the pocket.
tbh the show had a ton of problems even before this. Cima in particular comes to mind.
Precisely.
Oh, you couldn't date Char? Gassing a colony sounds like a perfectly reasonable course of action!
i will say, it is petty... but NOT unrealistic. and i dont say this because she is a woman, but lets not kid ourselves here, many people cant take rejection well. so while i hated that she did it. it was at least more understandable than 0083 contrievance.
at least we can point to Reccoa as a bitter idiot who took things too far. besides, hathaway kinda did the same crap in the movie, so you know...
I still hate Nina though. Kinda wish her aim had been a bit better.
Was the anime original before the manga were made? I dont know if the anime is an adaptation
@@pauloazuela8488 The manga is recent, Stardust Memories came out in like 1991.
The very least the manga is doing a better job at developing this love triangle.
It's been a while but i though Zabi family were evil but Zeon remnants just wanted freedom for colonies
Gato was a chad
Nina is a modern woman
Kou is the nice guy
Nina misses chad will do anything for chad
Kou accepts her after turning on him
Kou becomes a simp
Gosh... you've got a point.
@@sdsfsdfghdrty it all makes sense now.
I hate that people says Gundam is woke where the show is clearly giving us a warning in the future.
So true. Gato owns Uraki so many times during the series it's hilarious.
Of all important characters that were butchered. Nina was the worst. 😂
One of the worst relationships in Gundam is Mikazuki and Atra in Iron Blooded Oprhans. There's no spark between the two at all.
This is one of those rare instances where the Manga that came out AFTER the OVA explains things a helluva lot better between those two.
I knew from the get-go she was bad cause she works for Anaheim.
Very fair point.
Women have this thing called hypergamy. Gato is a Chad and rejected her which makes her want him even more.
See if that would make sense if Tomino wrote the story knowing him but he didn't lol. Guess they were inspired by him, this is why Mora is best girl
***GUNDAM AGE SPOILER (tangentially related to 0083)***
Given Nina's unpopularity, I don't know why AGE had to make an expy of her (though at least Romary had the benefit of gradually shifting his feelings for Asemu after the betrayal) confuses me (I think an AGE rewatch is good for me).
i quite like Lacus and Kira in all honesty, i feel like they fit well together and complement each other. it reminded me of Loran and Dianna(even though i felt really bad for Sochie, the show did great showing that it was a one sided love).
Not to mention the Gato was old enough to be her dad, she basically slept through the ranks. She sucks.
Gato looks old because of his hair color, but he was born in UC 0060.
In the final scene when kouki is finally released he sees nina my head canon is he ran up to her to drop kick her
Poor poor Nina, she's a classic victim of the writer's room. The switch of show runners was disastrous for her especially
Japanese really like NTR
I really hated Nina. She was a terrible character throughout the series. She didn't apologize for her actions.
This is outstanding I am glad I'd stumbled onto this channel while watching Toonami/Adult swim Promo's. You're right Zeon were like those Yatzis but their uniforms did have some drip game.
I absolutely agree Zeon had the aesthetic. I don't like the Zabi Family's ideals, but I love Zeon's mech designs. The Gelgoog line is a masterpiece.
I honestly do dig her English voice, done by Dorothy Fahn of Digimon and Danganronpa fame.
Honestly I hated Quess more than Purpleton.
YESSSS EXACTLY
Nina acts completely irrationally, selfishly, naively, disasterously and human.
Nina is the most realistic woman in Anime.
I agree. That romance twist and the ending only add realism to the show.
@@ДмитрийМачулин-ч3т No its just the writers NTR kink lmao. Something that would have been expanded upon in gundam SEED because japan
Wait should Nina be in some military cort martial at the end I mean she did aid and abed the enemy and shoot at an commissioned officer?
she is a good looking woman, and chances are, Kou bit the bullet to help her, which is why they got all happy at the end, even though she did not deserve.
@@marcosdheleno Should have given her up. Stupid simp.
It's very simple.
Gato is a CHAD.
Kou is a BETA.
Of course Nina would do anything for Gato.
Exactly, it's Anavel fucking Gato versus shit-tier Kou Uraki who is a tool.
Yeah no, Nina is just mentally challenged
White woman moment
IMO everything about it would have EASILY been fixed if they made Nina and Gato siblings
THAT....... is actually a VERY easy fix.
Well her actions helped her employer bottom line setting up another war. She probably got a sweet bonus check.
Yea, that plot twist or character twist made no sense, totally came out of the blue and ruined this OVA for me.
In my head canon ,Kou walks right up to Nina and backhands that smile right off her face.
Clearly she was blind when gato stole unit 2
If this happens in the end of gundam seed freedom, imagine the mass depression
To be fair - she's from Anaheim Electronics, who are basically secondary villains of the UC, fueling any conflict they get into and selling to both sides with no regard for the victims. The Gryps War alone was in many ways a war between Anaheim and Anaheim.
Nina's betrayal and helping Zeon to drop the colony are perfectly in line with her company's goals. Ignore the cheap drama and you'll realise Stardust Memory is a story about Federation, Zeon and Anaheim cooperating with each other to fulfil their goals and lay seeds for the next conflicts.
this is soo true! they ruined their relationship
I agree, seeing her in the end makes my blood boil. Sadly Gato x Nina seem to be a reflection of most modern relationships.
Breh, you wanna check out a better carbon copy of Charlie from Top Gun? It's Lynn from Front Mission 5: Scars of War
The ending is so confusing too, one smile, that's suppose to make it all water under the bridge, or she's just hoping to get back together with Kou again now that Gato is gone
Anaheim has nothing but crazy people inside.
I still get pissed when she helps Gato and stabs kou in the back.
I mean... have you seen Gato? You can hardly blame her. :) Gato is just that awesome :D
Dude the 08th MS romance was good and all.
The romance ITSELF was good once it got rolling. How it STARTED came across as them basically just doing Romeo and Juliet. Shiro meets Aina ONE time, keeps her watch, and is immediately head-over-heels for her?

Gundam X has the best romance in the franchise and its not even remotely close (not exactly a high bar anyway) but id say SEED FREEDOM made Kira and Lacus slightly more believable, in the original show its basically a plank of wood and a self insert staring at each other in a room and im somehow expected to believe that they should fall in love.

@@FlashingBladesProductions her employer greatly benefited from her actions helping set up more suit sales to the new Titans. Can see it now “Colony Drop” somewhat symbolic it will help create new sale use the cover of relationship to hide real motivation for Colony drop profit.
i LOVE Cima. such an underrated character. i genuinely felt bad for her. no matter what she does, people just see her as a monster, even though she was forced to do the job.
I totally agree!
Nina was responsible for unit 1 almost getting destroyed, because she didn't give Kou the him some leeway on data on the Gundam and space imput.
that shit was all on Kou who was too much of an idiot thinking that because he piloted it, and read the manual, he knew more about the machine than her.
I'd take Jacqueline Simone over Nina any day.
Believe it or not. She's worse in the Manga
I've heard conflicting reports. Some say that the manga made it better. I haven't gotten around to reading it yet.

Yeah but it worked better in Justice League. Also I blame the writers, not a fictional character.
