The 4090 has been tested at native 4K high settings with Quality Ray Tracing in Dying Light 2. High settings are max settings in Dying Light 2 as it doesn’t have an ultra preset. At native 4K high settings with Quality Ray Tracing, the 4090 averages 60 FPS.

I'm looking to upgrade the card but holding out to see what happens. My word of advice would be to build ya own even if like me you never have. Saved a fortune!! Great video.
The size is the only problem? How about the fact that they over-engineered the cooling to accommodate the 450W TDP, resulting in a much more expensive product for a measly 5% performance gain over 300W?
I was also considering these two for my Pimax 4K Super which is, surprisingly, doesn’t even typically require this much in real life - plus I’m waiting for the Crystal update!

@@T1500C Exactly. Nvidia is truly turning into one of the shittiest companies on Earth. I did not try to get a 4090 yesterday. I intend to buy one, but I am going to list my EVGA FTW3 3090 on Craigslist first to see if I can get what I want for it (hopefully about $800). I checked online at maybe noon yesterday and ALL 4090s were already sold out. This is a very obvious attempt by Nvidia to WILLINGLY limit the availability of 40-series cards early in their release so all of these stores and AIBs can finally dump all of the 30-series cards they have on the shelves without having to drop them to $500. It's the same reason why the upcoming 4080 and fake 4080 (actual 4070) are $1,200 and $800 respectively...a MASSIVE price increase over previous gen while the 4090 is only $100 more. That said, I was actually happy to see the prices of the upcoming 4080 and fake 4080 (4070) because IMO those extremely inflated prices are going to keep the prices of used 3090s and 3090 Tis at least relatively high. Why would you buy a fake 4080 (4070) for $800 (or more if it is an AIB model) that only has 12 GB of VRAM when you can buy a used 3090 or 3090 Ti that has 24 GB of VRAM and likely the same general level of performance? I'd rather have DOUBLE the VRAM. Hopefully buyers feel the same way when I list my 3090 in the coming days. And if I have to run my PC on the built-in GPU in the 5900X for a few days or weeks before I can finally buy a 4090, then so be it. I still bought the 3090TI for a cool 1K. The new card is impressive, but It's not worth another $600 to me- but 24GB was enough for me to move from my 3080Ti since some programs/games I run need more than a measly 12GB. NVIDIA (and AMD) need to come down to earth and offer their flagships for sub $1200- the economy is crap right now and we are mostly over with the PROC panda-mic- mining moved away from GPU's etc- now is not the time to price gouge people, especially when the outgoing cards are still powerful and now attainable. Advancements in tech does not necessitate hikes in price- if it did, your average smart phone would cost $5000 and a Nissan Optima would cost $150K- if anything, the advancements in fabrication most likely cuts costs and increases production.

If we're talking price/performance, there hasn't really been a big leap since the 1080 ti. 4090 is "technically" a big jump in price/performance over the 3090, but that's only because of how ridiculously overpriced the 3090 was to begin with.
@@BlueDrew10 if there is jump in performance even a 3090 is good for me.this 4090 is even better than that so stop complaining that it's not the best generational leap in performance.its still the best card.
@@Xenor999 I'm not complaining about the performance of the 4090 at all. The price is the issue. The 3090 was even worse though, because it (along with the 3080 12gb, 3080ti, and 3090ti) was only marginally better than the 3080 10gb for double the price.

Thats the problem with particle systems and gpus. They dont get along very well. As a 3d/CGI artist i must say it is really time/cost consuming to produce high quality and realistic particles like smoke, fire, water, etc. So dont blame your 5770, its a nice card :)

Will you be able to do a video on the 4090 in Cyberpunk at native 4K max settings with Psycho RT? I am curious to see how it performs like that. Maybe you could overclock 4090 to get more performance. Same with max settings and max ray tracing in Dying Light 2 and Watch Dogs Legion. Would be awesome if you could do that.

Well Done NVIDIA.

The average is actually like 60-70%, some games even reaching as high as almost double

I'm looking to upgrade the card but holding out to see what happens. My word of advice would be to build ya own even if like me you never have. Saved a fortune!! Great video.

It did make the cpu bottleneck a small bit. But the improvement is crazy and thr gpu power draw is great too

Same TDP , much better performance. Great job Nvidia. Only problem 4090 is such a big card with using quad slots :D
And price
Couldnt we use a normie mobo like we can still use pcie 3.0 for 3090 ti?
The size is the only problem? How about the fact that they over-engineered the cooling to accommodate the 450W TDP, resulting in a much more expensive product for a measly 5% performance gain over 300W?

At Newegg, some cards like the Strix went Out of Stock right away, and the MSI cards went out of stock within a couple minutes. If you were determined to get a 4090 and you didn't care what model it is, then these cards were attainable.
Out of stock not because high request but because those store have very limited number of those card they need to keep the price high and best way to do it is introduce little quantitative of 4000 per time
@@T1500C Exactly.
But if the 4090s end up not restocked for WEEKS or even longer, then I may end up buying my first EVER AMD GPU instead...just because I'm fed up with Nvidia's business practices (not that AMD is any better).
