Just did one on a 2008, I only took out two bolts on the starter but I took the knock sensor off and it slid right out, not to difficult but a bit of a pain. Right or wrong not sure
Removed the 3 nuts from the top of the catalytic converter and the 2 from the bottom. Catalytic converter isn’t budging. Is there anything else holding it in place?
double check that there are no supports holding yours on, if it has been on there for awhile it can hold the cat in place as well, use a pry bar as long as you have removed all support bolts
Out of all the comments I have responded to, THIS ONE IS THE ONE! You are most welcome brother! That was the purpose of my entire channel, help others on their auto repairs and help them save money. DONE AND DONE! Thanks for watching brother!
well I just came across this video. and ill be intending to fix my own starter this morning, battery is newer and so is the alternator and now it wont start. lights are on and ready to Go, clicks but no sound of start;
Starter has an internal clutch, sounds like it is stuck. If you are stuck somewhere hit the starter with something and it will unstick. The starter needs replacement though to permanently fix this problem. You got this Cindy!!!!
I see you did not remove manifold from engine, but didn't see if anything other than (3) 13mm bolts needed to be disconnected up top. And (2) bolts connected to cat below. Is this correct?
You should be close to similar on the disassembly procedure due to the engines being the same. The newer Enclave received an interior makeover when Buick re-released the Enclave in 2013. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for more DIY Auto Repair here on the channel!
Not sure but my 2010 enlave at times in start n crank does have power and other times it cranks and don't start. Very weird could it be my starter? I do here when not cranking a noise maybe the solenoid. Please help
Thank you Shawn, my apologies on the audio. This episode our Rode Mic was on its way out during filming. I will make sure the audio is better in future episodes. Did you have any questions about the repair?
Is that getting in the way of your support bolts? Because I didn't have a problem with it. I even rewatched the video a few times to try to see this sensor you speak of.
Here is the mask! amzn.to/3eCb9XN I love this mask! I dont have to worry about wrenches hitting me in the face or oil and coolant falling in my face when I am working below the vehicle. Thank you for watching!!
I have a 2011 buick enclave cxl. Won't turn on, all lights come on but does not start. Has Service charging system on dash. Could this be a alternator or starter? Battery has been tested and still runs 13v when cranking.
You forgot about the exhaust clip 18mm bolt that sits right behind a 02 sensor. Also if you don’t have a air gun too take this off I recommend you do not attempt this 10/10 lol
Air tools will definitely make it easier! Thank you for reminding us about that behemoth! All repairs I say do at your own risk but this one does take a different kinda person without air tools LOL
Yes my apologies on that Jason, the Mic I had at the time was failing and I didnt know it but didnt want to waste the great content. I should of done a voiceover, this was one of my earlier videos.
Thanks brother you helped me get it done

If it started and you didnt hear anything grinding, you did it right James! Great job and Nice thinking on the time saver! Thanks for watching!

Bro you just save me a lot of time and aggravation

Great vid but the music is horrible....
Thankfully I'm a mechanic and not a DJ lol 🤣
😂
I have a 2010 Buick Enclave that won’t crank but all the lights come on could it be the starter it was working fine then just wouldn’t start
Did you see my question?

Just a tip; I actually removed the manifold. It was really easy and made things even easier
That is an awesome tip Jose!!!! Thank you for watching an adding to the community!!
Easier until you brake an exhaust manifold bolt
I see you did not remove manifold from engine, but didn't see if anything other than (3) 13mm bolts needed to be disconnected up top. And (2) bolts connected to cat below. Is this correct?
Please help me....
That is correct, you are just moving that part of exhaust out of your way
Great work! Will this video work for a 2014 Enclave?
You should be close to similar on the disassembly procedure due to the engines being the same. The newer Enclave received an interior makeover when Buick re-released the Enclave in 2013. Thank you for watching! Stay tuned for more DIY Auto Repair here on the channel!
Is there an easier way to remove the starter
This is the easy way. Saving money will never be as easy as we want it to be. Thanks for watching!
What psi was your air ratchet thinking about tackling this job this weekend coming up.
Psi on air ratchet was about 90 psi, I was using a pancake compressor at this time.
Not sure but my 2010 enlave at times in start n crank does have power and other times it cranks and don't start. Very weird could it be my starter? I do here when not cranking a noise maybe the solenoid. Please help
Meant to say no start n crank*
Check your battery and starter connections. Sounds like a loose connection.
@@Sellthoseflippingcars I will tomorrow thank u
your welcome
I found out it was my starter.. I got it changed.. thanks for the video. Helped a lot
You walked up there and I expected to see spider webs of electric wires like the 2012
Lol you would of saw the camera get shut off 😂 and......Cut!!!! Lol Wire webs are the worst!
Great video, but audio was kinda low
Thank you Shawn, my apologies on the audio. This episode our Rode Mic was on its way out during filming. I will make sure the audio is better in future episodes. Did you have any questions about the repair?
You forgot to show the removal of the sensor behind the starter.
Is that getting in the way of your support bolts? Because I didn't have a problem with it. I even rewatched the video a few times to try to see this sensor you speak of.
Labor time is actually 1.4 for this job... the starter is about 250
Still an amazing way to save $250 by doing it yourself and reinvesting that money into yourself
thanks for watching!!
Great video. Where did you get your mask?

So it cranks? Does it crank fast or slow?
@@Sellthoseflippingcars no sound, just maybe 3-4 small light clicks after cranking.
Starter has failed, time for a new one. I put the one I used in the video description. Worked great!

which 18 mm bolt are you speaking of?
@@Sellthoseflippingcars are you saying you can't do it without air? What about a battery impact?
Para cambiar bombilla del frente de buick enclave
Desafortunadamente, todavía no tengo un video sobre esa reparación.
Why the hell the long intro damm
Why complain when I gave you chapters to guide you, and fast forward has been a thing for quite some time? What is really troubling you friend?
20min intro
It's a 2 minute intro Delia yet a $800 repair........sacrifices must be made when getting a FREE walk thru guide. Thanks for watching
It look different under my Buick Enclave
Do you have the same year and engine?
Yo jus take the oil filter off fellas comes right out
This is a starter replacement video, did you have a question about this repair?
Very poor audio quality
Yes my apologies on that Jason, the Mic I had at the time was failing and I didnt know it but didnt want to waste the great content. I should of done a voiceover, this was one of my earlier videos.
This is stupid. You are now paying for new gaskets in addition to a new starter. Just go from the bottom and remove the engine mount instead.
That is definitely another way! Thankfully Buick thought of this and gave us more than 1 way to complete the repair. Thanks for watching!!
Yep removing engine mount is the way to go
Worst video ever
What did I miss?
I have a 2010 Buick Enclave that won’t crank but all the lights come on could it be the starter it was working fine then just wouldn’t start
Does it click at all? If it clicks it's the starter, if it doesn't click, you need to get battery tested. Thanks for watching!
