- It's been 9 months that this aloe vera plant has been in water and it's still alive. The video shows that not only Aloe vera can survive in water without soil but it also can grow if given nutrients while in water.

Thanks for this! I had two big mamas with pups - one long stemmed one. I cut, trimmed and am now trying this. I think it will work just fine! I will eventually pot it.
Can you do a video about how you can pot aloe in soil after you've had it at water for a couple of weeks?

mine giant aloe plan stem has been growing at a sharp angle all the way down causing the plant to lean all the way down on the left side to the point were the plant is almost touching the side of the pot. the only way to replant would be to perform surgery - cut the stem and root to align the plant upright. not sure if i can just set this plant in a jar of water with no roots????? what can i do-- i don't even have a jar big enough to do this- and i don't know if the plant will survive- the plant is very health ???? please help
This is not recommended for bigger aloe vera. The purpose of this video is to show that aloe vera will not die in water and certainly not by overwatering. Even though aloe vera can survive in water, it will not grow as it should. So, better replant your aloe vera in soil.

Is this hydrophonic solution harmful for aloe vera's health or nutrition?
With or without hydroponics, aloe vera should not be grown in water. They should be planted in soil. I just made the video to show that aloe vera will not die in water, so you can't kill aloe vera by overwatering.

@@bradleypease2492 Yes, you can grow aloe vera in water for ornamental purposes but not commercially, because they will not grow big as they would in soil.

@@aidenam8840 dont water it daily. only water it even the soil is competely dried out. i water mine once a month or once in 15 days depending on the season.
Growing in water - very interesting - wondering if painting the bottom container to prevent sunlight getting to the water and therefore less chance of the green algae growing - as it uses up both oxygen and nutrients from the water. 🤔

Kadalasan fungus ang dahilan na dumadami sa malamig at mamasamasa na lupa, at di nasisikatan ng araw. If you want your plant indoor, just make sure na walang fungus ang lupa. You can also treat the soil with hydrogen peroxide to get rid of fungus.

@@kristinedeguzman2757 Dilute 3 teaspoon of hydrogen peroxide per liter of water, use it to treat the soil by watering or soaking.

Hey u should try to make it into an aquarium. Change it into a larger water container and grow aloe in it with kratky hydroponic method while keeping aquatic plants and guppy fishes in it too so that mosquito larvae would be perfect nutrient for both the fish and plants!;)

So I have my aloe in DWC set up , I just use epsom salt and have a air stone in the their. Plant looks greanut the roots are not growing

Can you experiment if they will live if we keep them hanging bare rooted but spraying the roots twice everyday?

They may have some problems with the roots that they can't absorb water.

i would cover the container in paper bag - water grows algae when hit by light... it's actually cool that you have them growing, they don't like water... they like to be well drained so I wonder if you put rocks in the bottom and put in rocks...
Yes you are right, I keep changing the water almost everyday not just because of the algae, but because of the mosquitoes breeding in the water. Dengue fever is dangerous. I have kept this plant for almost a year, not because I wanted to grow aloe vera in water, but because I just want to know how are they in water.

Although the plant looks good and healthy, I noticed that they don't grow as big when they are planted in the soil. So after more than a year in the water, I planted them back in the soil.

Add in a air bubbler with a nice round air stone and some hydrogen peroxide into the water to make it clean and the roots will love the added oxygen. Plus with a jar that is black. You do not want light in that water

Sorry to hear that, Aloe vera becomes saggy if it is not getting enough sunlight.

Get some mirical grow cactus mix and pots and pot them separately but only water every 4 days

If they have been placed in a greenhouse, don't expose it to direct sunlight right away, do it gradually. The plant may undergo change because of the change in environment, but the plant will be okay when they get used to the new environment.

In about 2 to 3 weeks, it will get used to the sun.
