OMGOODNESS! I know where this is going…I thought I did, now I know for certain. Many, many moons ago, I was neighbors with a family who had “mirror” twins that were born over 2 days apart, and in separate years.
@@user-bo7ob1ek2x Well, in this particular instance, it was male twins, both with near identical port stain birthmarks on their face, one had theirs on the right side of his face, the other had his on the left side of the face. One was right handed, the other was left handed. They were basically mirror images of one another.
@@user-bo7ob1ek2xIt means the babies split latter than usual, so they look a lot more alike, but mirrored: like one would have a heart slightly to the left, and the other could a bit to the right.
I had a singleton, but I still had contractions off and on for almost a week after giving birth. They got so strong at one point that I had to pull the car over immediately.
My friend was heavily pregnant, was having issues with stress incontinence towards the end of the pregnancy, so was wearing pads. She rushed to the toilet and came out with her pad in her hand, in a blind panic, thought her waters had broke. Every time she went to sniff it she was violently gagging, so I ended up having to do the sniff test. It was infact urine. 😂
@jackiem7282 Actually, most twins have separate amniotic sacs. In fact, all fraternal twins have separate amniotic sacs and placents. On the other hand, around 1% of identical twins share an amniotic sac. When they do, it's often extremely dangerous or even fatal as their umbilical cords get tangled up and strangle each other. Shared placentas are much more common though, with around 70% of identical twins sharing a placenta. It all depends on how far into the pregnancy the zygote splits. If the zygote splits before it implants in the uterine wall, around days 1-3, then each twin will have their own sac and placenta. If it splits right after implanting, around days 4-8, then you get a shared placenta but separate sacs. If it splits a while after implanting, around day 8-13, you get a shared placenta and a shared sac. Finally, if it splits really late after implanting, around day 13-15, you get conjoined twins. That's why fraternal twins always have both separate amniotic sacs and separate placentas, as they start out as two separate zygotes from the beginning.
@@jackiem7282Also, most of the time, this kind of birth, called delayed interval delivery or asynchronous birth, happens when one twin is delivered before viability, so doctors do everything they can to delay the second delivery in order to give the remaining fetus as much time as possible to hopefully make it to viability. Cases where it happens naturally are much less common, but basically happen because the woman's body just spontaneously stops contracting after the first baby is born but before the second's sac breaks. There are also a few cases where the mother had two uteruses with one baby in each. It's all extremely rare, but the longest time between two twins being born was 157 days, although the first twin didn't survive. The longest time where both survived was 87 days.
@@mamanursetina she didn’t know she was in labour and she only had few twinges and she coughed and she didn’t realise til she felt the baby and blood in her underwear.
My daughter gave birth and 5 days later, she delivered a second sac with a mass of cells at home! An undeveloped twin. Doctor had no idea my dau was pregnant with twins! .
Bless your heart, you had twins like 5 days apart. Oh my gosh. I better be careful of that because my sister is a twin and I have an aunt and uncle who is a set of twins. Another sister had twin boys. So it really runs in my family. Thankfully I've only had Singleton so far. I couldn't imagine that. I mean, you give birth, you think you're done in recovering and then you have another one.
My mum had a similar experience without the extra surprise babies. She thought labour & contractions were food poisoning, spent hours bent over the toilet bowl. I was delivered in a hospital, but for a little while i genuinely mogut have been a toilet baby. Oops
I was almost born behind a billboard. My grandmother was walking with mom to go to the hospital a block away. Mom said "I've got to go poop RIGHT NOW, I'm going to have to go do it behind this sign! Grandma told her "OH HELL NO YOU DON'T GIRL,KEEP WALKING!"😂
66 years ago my mom miscarried early on then approximately 2 months later began to hemorrhage went in to surgery to do a Hysterectomy and delivered me. Docs had no idea she had a double uterus with 2 babies!
I passed my baby and went for the confirmation of miscarriage ultrasound. Both mine and docs jaws dropped when we saw a second baby still swimming around in there.
I know this is completely different but 6 weeks out from both my births (one vaginal, one c section) I had a day where i thought I was going into labor again. I was cramping so badly, I thought they were contractions, throwing up. 6 weeks out each time. Went to doc both times and they couldn't tell me what it was. Stopped after about 8 hours. I know this skit leads to something else but it reminds me of those days each time.

What's mirror twins? Does it just mean they looked a lot alike?

Lol, it does not smell like urine. In fact, it does not smell at all. Super clean. Think about its purpose.

That this is actually a real thing that can happen to women's bodies is wild, amazing and SCARY!!!
My sister delivered the first of her triplets at home and she didn’t make it and she was 25 weeks. She had the other 2 2.5 weeks later at 27 weeks.
