They did. They said that since milk has all the nutrients a baby needs, babies can survive on milk alone during the first 6 months of life. So why would you feed a baby anything else? Considering that breastmilk is free, always the right temperature, it doesn't smell when baby poops, you have an unlimited supply of it, and its wonderful bonding time. It's kind of a no-brainer.

I was watching this as I pumped milk for my newborn. My sore nipples were hoping to hear something profound to make their sacrifice extra worth it. Guess seeing his cute little face fatten up on my supply will have to be enough motivation. ☺️

I was surprised there was no mention of colostrum and the vital immunoglobulins in human milk that are specifically tailored to each human baby (absent in cow’s milk and formula). In addition, no mention of the milk ejection reflex, which is triggered by the baby and causes the milk to travel down the ducts to the baby. This is why milk doesn’t flow out all the time as it is produced.

for a woman preparing to lactate, I found the information about how milk is produced in glands helpful. everyone I talk to about breastfeeding are all about how to latch a newborn, but I feel knowing the science behind how my body is producing is important for making sure I eat correctly to produce nutritious milk.
also for the people asking why we drink cows milk, im sure it had something to do with a mother dieing in childbirth and the father lacking an available wet nurse. over time the discovery of cream and butter added to people wanting to milk cattle. not even 300 years ago it was common for families to rely on their animals for food and resources. in fact killing an animal for meat was considered a waste that could only be afforded by the rich. hence smaller livestock, like chickens, were domesticated, and hunting game was considered a way to feed your family.

In norse myth, the first frost giant was created by a great cow (Audhumbla), but because his realm was nothing but ice and one very angry dragon, he had to survive on her milk alone. The version I grew up with also had him gradually weaving clothes from her tail hairs, which he would take one at a time because he couldn't risk not having her milk. Cows were esteemed because of that; they can provide everything, milk as drink, meat and cheese as food, and their hides as clothing. Cows rule.

cows get milked 2-3 times a day, and there are many dairy cow farms. the animal is not harmed, in fact they like it.
how much milk comes out of the cow depends on the breed and age of the cow.

I heard that it took about nine thousand years after the domestication of cows for humans to become tolerant to the lactose specifically designed for cows.
I'm not sure about other milks, but in human milk, most of it isn't for the baby, it's for the bacteria growing in its gut. Plus, evolutionarily, mammals were originally made to be lactose intolerant after they reached a certain age. These are a few things that he neglected to mention in the video.

Soooo many people are pissed off about not showing what happens to the animals or "how cruel the industry IS", this video was educational and based on the factory methods. It touched the basics and described what gave milk, different methods, the differences in a couple animals, and then went on about the processing. The topic wasnt almond milk and how it's made, nor was it arguing semantics about whether it's humaine or not- there was no misrepresentation to the video because "it failed to talk about blah blah blah". Did it talk about how most animals can't drink milk when they are adults? How it makes them sick? WHY humans can drink milk? There's more "lost information" than just sore cow nipples and cow baby desperation, but that just wasn't what the video was ABOUT. No content creator should be limited by a viewers sensitive insensitivities on other peoples needs and wants, thats raping their content to fit your personal agenda of pissing in your own mouth and putting your big toe in your asshole.

I'm lactose intolerant and I'm allergic to milk protein... When I drink milk it takes me like 15 min and then I throw up. That means I have to drink a substitude for milk (if I want some of course). After trying like... everything... I realized that coconut and almond "milk" (I don't care if it's milk or not) are the most healthiest substitudes (and they're also very tasty :3).

Plants communicate and feel pain just like other living things, targeting something that cannot visually express its agony and treating it as non existent is like beating up the disabled kid (trying not to be too graphic). You should not go for something just because it looks visually better then the alternative on the shallow surface when underneath it is the same.
Milk is just like fruits in that it is highly nutritious and you don't kill the organism in order to extract/harvest it. If you don't want to consume it fine with me just don't try to force your opinions onto people. You are a vegetarian good for you! vegan? same! can we please just stop calling each other freaks.
