I had my birth plan written beautifully thanks to this wonderful video. That got thrown out the window yesterday at 2:35pm (June 11th) when I delivered our daughter on our way to the hospital. What a crazy experience that was! 😅
Thanks for this! I've already started writing my birth preferences but this helped me fill in important gaps that I didn't even consider. Excited to meet my baby in three months!
I've had 5 babies, 4 of which were home births and one (my 4th) was a transfer for induction. Now I'm pregnant with my 6th and planning a hospital birth for the first time, for various reasons. It's so hard going from the home birth culture to the cold business world of hospital birth. Especially with my 6th baby. I've been trying to write out a plan and forgot a lot of things so I really appreciate this video! I really hope I can find a provider who can respect my wishes.
@@valeriaswanne because home births are expensive and insurance doesn't cover them. Just can't afford another home birth unfortunately. But I'm sort of glad because this way I can be just induced around 39-40 weeks instead of carrying 2+ weeks past my due date like I did with all my other babies.
I am literally in the exact same position as you, baby number six and planning a Hospital birth. My husband was laid off and home births are expensive. I’m older and I also feel like displacing my other five children so I can have the baby at home. It’s too much work. I find it easier for me to just leave and go have the baby and come back lol 😂 but I will say that I am feeling all the same feelings as you. I am stressed out about it but trying to relax and enjoy.
Thank you thank you thank you for making this video. This was extremely helpful and kept the birth preferences simple and also helped me understand what to expect for a hospital birth as a first time momma!
I'm planning to start trying in a year. Learning about this while my life is relatively less hectic. Thank you for your compassionate energy, and informative video ❤❤📚🌸
Hi!!! I am so thankful for what you said “Birth Preferences”! I wish I could share thoughts from L&D nurses when a pt arrived with a “Plan”. A great happy medium is intermittent electric fetal monitoring rather than “spot checks” with intermittent auscultation with a Doppler- really tough. I agree totally.I appreciate your video very much ☺️ Thank you very much!
Your channel is life saver. I’m so glad to find it. Now watch one by one all your videos) So helpful. I’m new in USA, and English is not my native language. But you explain everything so good, seems like here I find answers to my questions. I feel more confident and calm when I understand what usually is going on in hospital in US, and of course learning new vocabulary related birth. Thank you so much!!! You are amazing)
You put me at ease, this is me and my wifes first child and I've been stressing out trying to get figure everything out cause honestly my wife doesnt ask enough/ the right questions and is nonchalant about everything which then leaves me feeling stressed and lost
Thank you sooo much! You really did help me relax and not feel like I’m being to picky over what happens in my birth. Doctors sometimes make you feel like you have no say at all.
Having my 3rd child and let me tell you all my birth plans were not needed…. Prepare urself with ur health and breathe and make choices as you go! Exercise and your breath will take care of the birth…. That’s why it’s soo important before your pregnancy and thru out ur pregnancy….
Thank you so much! This is so helpful as itll help organize my brain lol. Its my first baby and my brain is going a million miles per hour (not necessarily in a bad way) just constantly thinking about things and i feel like this alone will help me just organize my thoughts a bit
Just wrote mine out, 35 weeks, third baby. Thank you This is going to be my first hospital birth :< Two prior were home births ! Preparing myself now!!!
I am pregnant with my first and your videos are so helpful. These might be dumb questions but who do you give your birth plan to? Do you wait until you're at the hospital? Do nurses get upset when you have a birth plan?
Discuss what’s on it with your provider ahead of time at your scheduled appointments so you can get onto the same page. Then print it two copies and bring to your birth. One for the room or the door to your room and one for your chart. ☺️
Hi! I may be missing but you mentioned you would link to several other videos (i.e. breathing, etc) - could you point me in the direction of those? Would like to check out!

So, if you have Pitocin during labor, it is given through the IV to make your contractions, stronger longer more efficient or closer together. When it is given with the birth of the baby, it is given in an attempt to decrease your chances of a postpartum hemorrhage.

Your video is very beautiful. I like it a lot. I have been trying to talk to you for a long time. I am waiting for your response. Please give me a chance to talk to you📞🙏💝
I’m currently pregnant with baby # 2, is it ok to refuse pitocin? I remember with baby number #1. I was doing fine until they started pitocin. The pain was too much! Can this be an option to proceed naturally? @mamanursetina
@@lauriemensah1637 Close then! :) I'm 30 weeks and definitely want to avoid the pitocin too! (This is my first.) Best of luck, I hope all goes well, and prayers for a safe delivery! ☺️
This is going to be late for you but for anyone else who wants to know, you definitely have a say in this. You can ask them why they feel it's necessary or tell them to dial the amount back. If labor is progressing normally, it can even be removed in some cases, that's what happened with me. They usually just crank it up to speed up the process but it's harder on mother and baby. Be your own advocate!

Whaaaat??? I just saw this! That's unreal! Congrats :)

That's one way to do it!
Oh wow lol I'd say that definetley wasn't a part of the plan. Congrats tho and I bet that was a scary but incredible experience.

Very detailed and much appreciated. How long should the vernix stay on amd why would you recommend it?
Oh man totally missed this one! Basically first bath can be delayed and the vernix can just be rubbed in as you enjoy skin to skin.

If you click the settings icon in the right corner, you can slow the playback speed. Also, it might be helpful to follow along with the transcript.
What is that pitocin shot for? I thought it was used to induce labor.

Can you do planned c-section birth plan?

I have one on an app that I can access with ease but I don't know when i will be able to use it
