I'm really glad they finally do his character justice in recent entries, he and Sonya are my favorite, and I almost always pick him as my main in every Mortal Kombat games (those that have him as playble that is).

In the original MK3 he was not playable, but in the MK3 Ultimate version, he was made playable and canon. After Shao Khan's defeat, he was allowed to ascend to Heaven but was later resurrected in MK4.
When MK9 came out Johnny Cage was my main, he helped me a lot. It’s really cool and I’m glad he’s still in the games and not dead, he’s awesome!!

Johnny Cage was first based on Jean Claude Van Damme. Specifically his character from bloodsport
More than that, Van Damme was supposed to be in the original game, but then the creators decided to make an original character based on him, which is Johnny.
which is why he really looks like Van Damme in mk 11
Liu Kang was based on Bruce Lee.
If Van Damme did play as Cage, then the whole story of Mortal Kombat would be different from today as Cage was meant to be the main character at the beginning. Van Damme decided he wanted to be Guile in the Street Fighter movie, and we know what happened there afterward.

I loved Johnny in the older games but I love him even more in the new ones. his MK9 rendition for some reason reminded me of Dane Cook but I think it fits the character in a way that makes sense due to some characters within the game thinking he's a Douche when he really isn't. lol
How did you just omit the part about his “green glow” coming from his ancestors?? That’s a HUGE detail!! Like very integral to the last events of MKX it’s not just some random green power lol. These vids are great just thought it was weird that that was left out

He is descendent of a tribalvthat breed warriors for gods. This gave explaining to why Cage can do absurd fatality.
That's why Raiden see goods in Cage. He already knew who Cage is from the beginning.
Mortal Kombat first started with these three characters Liu Kang and Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage and for years I play with these three only but no it expanded two more cast and characters I can't wait for Mortal Kombat 11 to come out the full in the gaps of the storyline in the timeline

While I like Johnny, it feels like Netherrealm Studios replaced Liu Kang as the main character with Mr. Cage. I get that it's a new studio and a new timeline, but here's to hoping MK11 kinda brings Liu Kang (and by extension Kung Lao) back into the spotlight.
Shin's Hangout at least they didn’t replace Liu Kang with Shujinko or Taven and Daegon like they did in the old timeline.

Cassie killing an elder God was so wtf. Some of the match up results are head scratchers. Like shang tsung and Quan chi both getting beat in mk9. If Lui kang couldn't take them both then neither should 99 percent of the others

They need a Spinoff of MK that let's Johnny Cage be the main character and show his powers culture and history of his abilities.
Nice story. I haven't kept up with the series much so watching these videos have been great. Whenever I played this game I played mostly as Sonya Blade or Sub-Zero. Can't way to see her story and would really like to know what Raiden's story is too.

I really hope some day we get a story based MK 1 to 3 then replace part 3 with trilogy and give a it a look like the first 2 games had as i always thought it could make for a epic story. And gives some love to characters who's role and looks were butchered by later games. Mk 4 was ok but a little underwelming. Love the videos but I've never been a fan of cage or Sonya. Since day 1 of mk on Sega. Cage only had 1 move that I liked as a kid "nutcracker" 🤦🏽♂️. Sonya was trash and still trash on mk11 🤷🏽♂️. Like who really bought the games back in the day and picked those 2 first??? Everyone I knew picked them last. Sorry if I sound like a hater but i could do without the corny cage family and still enjoy the mk series 🤷🏽♂️

Johnny cage is older with more fighting experience then his daughter so him beating shinok wit his green energy seems pretty straight but his daughter as much as I like her beatin an even more powerful version seems like a stretch even with the same green energy
Not really. I mean Cassie has been trained by both her parents. She has some experience given that she fought and killed Movado. Her beating Shinnok...it was Havik that had seen that potential in her. She’s basically MK’s version of Gohan. He didn’t have anywhere the amount of experience that his dad Goku has but it didn’t stop him from giving Frieza a beat down for a moment or whooping Cell’s ass AND toying with him. Besides it’s been proven on several occasions that while Shinnok is powerful, he can be outsmarted pretty easily whether it be Raiden, Bi Han, Quan Chi, Liu Kang or Johnny Cage.
