I saw online people talking about how the stickers can effect the sound but honestly a slight change in sound for making it easier to learn might be worth it and once you get a feel for it the stickers can be removed. And if they are missed you could just put some back on.
Finally, I've found your video that shows how to use those stickers for my Kalimba. I am going to apply the way you did for mine to identify tines. Thanks! 😀
Since I'm a harp player and the harps strings have Cs in red and Fs in blue or black I used the stickers to mark the Cs and Fs on my first kalimba..It just made it easier to See with a quick glance. That kalimba has the note names at the top of the tine which is hard to see. So that helped. My other kalimbas have the note names at the bottom where you play so I never marked them..
thank you so much for your videos, i'm trying to learn kalimba and english, you help me so much, i don't know why but your accent is really simple to understand !
Ha, I did exactly the same with mine. It came with a book with songs with one set of markings and I gathered there was another system for the other colour from UA-cam. I don't know how good a subject for a video it would make, but I am struggling with growing (and not biting 😅) my thumbnails! Any advice is welcomed!!
Nice. Well as for growing out your thumbnails, I think the biggest problem would be biting them since it not only shortens them but damages the nail from being able to grow so I would really just focus on breaking that habit. It could possibly make an interesting video, thanks for the suggestion!
Heyyy so if you want to stop bitting your nails to be able to play kalimba I have some advice : - First of all if you have the money for it you can buy hair and nails pills, it's make your nails harder so it's easier not to bite - Second of all if it's really really hard for you to completely stop bitting try to only choose some nails (to play kalimba you only need thumbs nails) I personally only let 6 of my nails grow including thumbs nails and now I can play kalimba - Put coloured nail polish on the nails you don't want to bite or at least clear nails polish to remind yourself if you unconsciously try to eat them (you can also use sour nail polish but I personally hate this sh*t it gets everywhere) - You can also try to get gel nails or acrylic to make your nails grow underneath (I tried gel nails but it didn't work for me cause I kept bitting them so they fell down quickly so yeah the 3 first advice are what worked for me
@@_Zelia_ this us great advice, I will let you know how I get on. Already only biting ones other than the thumbs but once they are gone... might try applying some see through polish 🤔
Any guitar shop will sell thumbpicks that fingerstyle guitarists use to better pluck strings. You can get metal or plastic ones. I just got a kalimba and intend to get a couple for use with it.
I still have no idea why you would need these. They cover up the numbers and letters. Being a newbie to the kalimba, I think covering up the tines is for professionals who want to pimp out this instrument. Seems counter intuitive to me. 🤷♀️
Came for the tutorial, stayed for the accent. Thanks!
subscribe for more accent 😎💯

Sadly to say, I already threw them away 😢 Anyway thanks for the information 💛
Oh nooo! Thanks for watching anyway :)
No problem! ^_^
What are the little grey circle stickers for?
They might just be to identify certain notes for a particular song
How to play any song on kalimba ?
Everyone with OCD screaming about the untrimmed sticker .
You can get the same result with color markers. I use that
Great sharing Cam!
Thank you!
Thanks so much
You're welcome!
Just discovered I'm the worse person to put stickers on something :D
It's all crooked and messy I wanna cry
At least your Kalimba has character now!
I only have green!
You could still use just green by leaving a space between each tine if that helps!
I won't put the stickers on because it makes it look a little worse.
Fr
Also, if you happened to know where to get replacement stickers?? I've no idea where'd I buy them and some of mine are wonky!!
The only place I could find them was ebay and other marketplaces. Seems to be hard to find exact replacements though!
I also threw them away 😥

Thank you. I will never buy a Kalimba though
