As a recent kalimba player, I can confirm that dropping your kalimba is the scariest thing that will ever happen, thank you for sharing!! I needed this🥲❤
Thanks for this sleepy guide 💤 Didn’t realise I shouldn’t be using alcohol, thought it would ok to do so. Also agree with keeping the kalimba in a case, the tines tend to get caught on things and get misaligned.
These are great tips. I got scared when you dropped your kalimbas at first, but was happy to see the safe cushioned landings :D Thanks for another great video.
You and me both! I cringed a bit everytime I watch my kalimba fall when I was editing this video so I made sure to let everyone know that they are safe :) thank u for watching till the end Chris! Have a blessed week~
Good tips, thank you Sam. The 17 key kalimba I ordered for my partner for Christmas just arrived. I'm very excited. I tried playing some easy tunes but I have such a long way to go. I noticed you have a Quokka Tunes kalimba. Is that an Australian brand?
Your first songs are quite memorable. Hopefully you enjoy the process and have fun :) and yes the quokka tunes brand was a company put up by a small family in Australia.
this is a great video! I love it. I hope Quokka Tunes give you your 💰 because you just plugged how beautiful their kalimba are in this video... get your money girl!
Good morning Sam, Good sounds advice. I once dropped my Kalimba on my toes. Actually I saw my Kalimba falling so I used my feet too break the fall, It nearly broke my toes. Ouch! 😩😂 Take Care Sam, and have a blessed day. 🙏🙏🙏
@@SamSalvador Thanks Sam, My toes survived the trauma it just got larger that all. Had to buy a bigger tennis shoes. Now they just called me: “Big Foot” 😅😂 You have a blessed evening, Sam Take Care.

Hi, may I ask to you? I'm a beginner and I have a sweaty palms since I was a child, but I want to buy a wood flat kalimba. Is that okay? Or should I buy the acrylic one? Thanks before ^^
Hello Riz! You can definitely still buy the wooden kalimba, just remember to wipe it off and let it dry before storing it away. Try to buy a wooden kalimba with a varnish rather than the ones without. Hope that helps! :)
I often love to go outside and play my kalimba out in nature. I store my kalimba in its drawstring bag, and I put it in my backpack, then I store my backpack in the car after I’m done playing it. Then I’ll go and swing in the park. Would it be ok to have my kalimba in my backpack in the car after I’m done using it? Or should I maybe switch to something like a tongue drum or singing bowl or something?
What are the special things you do to keep your kalimba in top notch condition? 😄
