Im already liking how you respect the food. Ive been seeing food vloggers buy a bunch of things and mix them together without trying each part. No good 😞
In the Philippines, they have so much tape of everything that goes through grab or foodpanda. Because they want to avoid the dreaded delivery guy is hungry so he ate some of your food incident, unlike in other countries where the delivery people blatantly open the box and takes some food out. Here most of the tape comes with "tape seal" do not accept if broken, and I've had some instances where the tape is broken and the food establishment didn't complain one bit they just said to make the driver return the food to them and they'll give me a whole new meal. Also the gimmick with rice wrapped in foil paper hybrid is to keep the moisture of the rice inside, and also I remembered some blue collar workers if they're very busy they eat the rice packs like a burger or like onigiri just keeping it in the wrap and eating it in the wrap so they won't need utensils.
Well you know its good fried chicken, when Max, a Southern boy, gives it the thumbs up. I have to chuckle at the Korean Fried Chicken served with rice - only in the Philippines. I know Filipinos luv their rice, but I prefer a buttery and flaky biscuit served alongside the chicken along with gravy. If rice must be served must be served with the fried chicken, I would like garlic rice rather than regular plain white rice.
i don't like plain rice, when i went to Phillipines they gave me plain rice with everything even a small hamburger and i got charged for it too i was about to throw the rice patty at their face
@@iamnotmental well I'm glad you didn't throw the rice patty at their face since its the cultural norm to serve rice with pretty much everything in the Philippines. Even McDonald's in the Philippines serves rice. They don't do it to be purposely disrespectful to foreigners. I am Filipino American and I won't eat rice with everything. I prefer to eat plain white rice with Spam and tomatoes, or with the stews/soups. If its breakfast Filipino style, like a tocilog, then I want the garlic fried rice, not plain white rice.
@@roberthemedes1064 yeah but they charged me for it which is disrespectful as i didn't ask for it, so instead of 1 burger with 3 meat patties which i asked for they gave me 3 yum burgers with 3 servings of rice, so i paid for 3 combos instead of 1 burger. they had a security guard at the door so i didn't throw it, but i got ripped off too, it was more than KFC price at home, also the chicken was dry and no seasoning even though i asked for spicy. now i know why i saw so many people in the American fast food shops in the Phillipines, places like Carls Jnr. and KFC where so packed and busy but i wanted to try the local cuisine.
@@JoshuaTolentino-t5z no...a fast food joint getting your order wrong? ya don't say...i didn't bother trying to negotiate with them, i asked for spicy chicken and it had no seasoning they could have told me they were out. also the yum burgers just tasted like a sugary bun, no hint of any meat and that's the only 2 things that were in it, no cheese no sauce not even a got dam slice of pickle -.- i'm happy i tried it though and can see why it's poplular = because there are a lot of Filipinos and this is there claim to fast food fame, hahaha what a joke.

I’m Filipino and one of the first generations (X) who grew up eating fast food. While Jollibee and McDonald’s is popular, if I crave for really good chicken it would be Sincerity Chicken. If I am in the US, believe it or not and I can’t believe it myself, I love the fried chicken from Chow King.
The three best chicken for me are Max's., Savory and Ramon Lees fried chicken. A chinese restaurant established since 1920s. Located in Sta. Cruz Manila near the place where you stayed in Chinatown.
idk about the fried chicken rating but in terms of food vlogger i'll be giving max a solid 10/10 and he's been sitting on the top in my list for bout a year and so, I'm darn sure in future it wont gonna change. love your videos man keep it up!! 🗿💕

For a grilled chicken series, you gotta try Bacolod chicken inasal from JT’s Manukan or Carlo’s Bacolod Chicken House Express. Or better yet, visit Bacolod and try it there.
jollibee fried chicken is good in PH & good to see your lil buddy chris back no video's in awhile must be learning a new language - nothing beats popeyes
Next to Jollibee fried chicken, my favorite from a resto chain in the PH is the Fearless Fried Chicken from Army Navy. Army Navy is known for their burritos, tacos, and burgers, but their fried chicken is quite good - juicy, peppery, crunchy, and flavorful.
Hello I'm from India and I'm watching your Hyderabad tour video just now it's really amazing....❤🎉 If you come in india on next time so visit in Kolkata it's call city of joy..🎉
I love Uncle John's chicken.. I hope you tried the Kanto (Street) Fried chicken. They're all over Manila :) Some have pretty good breading and really juicy too
Probably should've decided to buy it fresh hehe (but they'd likely just serve you what's in the queue of cooked chicken so you probably need to reheat the chicken first).
yeah but he's doing a "fried chicken" video. maybe he should do a rotisserie or roasted one and give andoks another try. he should order it in person and ideally for the rotisserie if he ever decides to do a video for it.
The yellow jiggly thing with cheese you ate at Amber's is called "Pichi Pichi" made from casava.. it's one of their best sellers, along with the Lumpia, Pork BBQ Sticks and the variety of noodle options.. Amber's is actually famous not for their chicken, but for their party feast package options.. tha'ts why you notice a lot of delivery riders going in and out of the place :)
Hey Max you should try Wendy's spicy fried chicken they cook it to order in most places! trust you won't regret it and you should also try Frankies for some finger lickin' goodness!
little bit of a trivia... if i remember it right, max's started after the war when a couple of GI's stationed in the Philippines frequent this particular place and starts serving them this chicken
Yeah, I would've rather reheated it first by refrying or putting it on an oven. I actually like Dokito especially the spicy one, although surprised he said it's too salty. The saltiest fried chicken I have eaten is possibly S&R's one although I liked that too. Interestingly his critique about dry just kinda reinforces how Westerners apparently emphasize a lot on food texture over flavor (I think Joshua Weismann collab with Uncle Roger showed it), with high priority about it when eating.
