Drew, I admire you for appreciating the simple joys and the sense of community in the hometown of Deanna. It reminds me of my childhood trips to the respective hometowns of my father (in Dumanjug, Cebu) and mother (in Carigara and Tanauan, Leyte). You and Deanna are a joy to watch. I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world! And wherever you may go, may your days be filled with love, joy and positive energy.
My favorite part was Deanna reading her list of 100 things she wanted to accomplish. So beautiful to see how many goals she has in only 10 years. Like that is a long time but also so short at the same time.
I was born in the Phillipines, but I grew up in Northern California. That was a really nice video Drew. My wife is Filipina from the north and we went back in 2017 for her daughters wedding where I was honored to give her away. I wore the baring Tagalog too and we had a big party at the family house the night before and a wedding party after the church ceremony at the house. So much of what you showed I can relate to. You’re really very very lucky to have found a wonderful person in Deanna.
i love it when she says, " Its not in my vocabulary to give up." that 's typically what every filipinos men/women who works abroad brings with them. one of the main reason that keeps the philippines afloat, economically. we put faith and hope to our Lord Jesus Christ, that He will bless us, and would never abandons us --no matter what. please keep it coming.
Filipinos are the warmest people in the world and that's what make Philippines unique. The tropical beaches and mountains are amazing. Sharing banquets whether small or large, fancy or simple as long as families and friends gather are the highlight of the day. Ill see you beautiful Philippines next year! ❤

So you picking up your nephew and bringing him to Jollibee and reminding him to be grateful to his Tita is such a pleasant thing to see. You just made memories with your nephew right there. I learned so much from your travel vlogs from sophisticated rich countries to countries with a lot of restrictions (Muslim countries) for some reason. Your visit to Zamboanga city (Southern part of the Phils., Mindanao) impressed me. I never realized you fall in love with a lovely Filipina and will soon be married. Congrats to both of you! May God shower you all his blessings as you start an exciting journey to building a family.
Beautiful it reminded me a lot of my childhood in rural Nicaragua which is also very similar to the Philippines with many volcanoes, tropical beaches and a strong culture for family and religion. It also happens to be directly across the Pacific Ocean from the Philippines so weather and geography is also very similar.
You're such a lucky guy Drew finding a trully precious gem in the Philippines in the person of Dianna👍 Congratulations to you, and best wishes to Dianna😊
Being 2nd generation Filipino in America, and never been in the Philippines, it was nice to see you bring my culture to me in this video. I appreciate how you captured all your personal moments with your fiancé and her hometown. I cried when she went through her book of things she wanted to do in her life, and you helped her make some of those dreams come true. Salamat, Drew, for what you do. I wish nothing but endless happiness for the both of you.
The reason why Filipino spaghetti is sweeter: It is usually made from tomato sauce sweetened with brown sugar and banana ketchup! Banana ketchup was invented during WWII when there was a shortage of tomatoes but plenty of bananas. Combine the two scenarios, and you get the solution of a yellow-brown banana sauce mixed with spices and vinegar dyed red as a substitute for tomato ketchup (and it's delicious). The genius behind this, Maria Orosa, already came up with so many innovations (including 700 recipes) like this one from freezing mangoes to the palayok oven (which enabled families without electricity to bake) to combat the country's malnutrition, which she returned to the Philippines to do in 1922 after rejecting a job offer at the Washington State government. And she was a leading member of the resistance against Japan. If it wasn't for her, thousands of Filipinos and Americans alike would've died of malnutrition. Since then, banana ketchup became a popular condiment of choice for Filipinos. And the sliced hot dogs were added as part of American influence. It's like Italy and the US got married and adopted a Filipino kid
I've seen a ton of your videos and by far, this is my favorite. I'm a little biased because I'm half Filipino and only lived in the Philippines for 3 years as a child. This really reminds me a lot of what I've experienced as a kid and the rest of the vid just shows off really well a beautiful portion of a daily life there.
Just so thrilled to see you immerse with our culture tremendously. Thank you for the love reciprocated. Appreciate too for understanding and opening your arms to embrace our unique cultural traditions. God bless you Drew and Deanna. Teary-eyed too when Deanna was reviewing her 100 bucket list!!!!
My respect to you Drew and congratulations. I can see that you will be a very good family guy and Deanna is very blessed to have you as her husband. You are the best Drew and I wish you both nothing but the best in life as you start this new chapter/ journey together as one. Thank you.
Hey Drew, You made my day with this video 😅😅😅, it really touched my heart and brought me to tears. Simple reason : I'm in love with a Phillipines girl too and it's still 53 days to be back there (Rosario Batangas). It feels like eternity to be back there again and enjoy her family life, her neighbors, her village, all these lovely people. I never saw any Philippines video that showed all this in a better way than you did. Thank you for all this insight of a wonderful country. Who knows may be some day we'll unexpectedly meet in any karaoke bar 😁😁😁 All the best for you and your sweet wife and all these lovely kids in the video. Martin from Germany
Nice video coming back to my old days in the Philippines. Warm people, nice environment, simple life and not too costly to live unlike here in the US. Soon i will retire there.

I know you said this one was more personal so it's different from your other videos but please do more like this! I loved seeing Deanna's joy in "coming home", as it reminded me of all my emotions visiting my family after the pandemic. But also seeing you connect with her family / your future family was truly beautiful! ❤️
You sir are an incredibly lucky man. Bicolanas are battle hardened from all the volcanic eruptions, bad weather from the pacific that always hits them first, and all the chili in their cuisine. They're loyal, long-suffering and very, very generous with what they have. My girlfriend is from Bulan, Sorsogon. She's an absolute keeper.

Since then, banana ketchup became a popular condiment of choice for Filipinos. And the sliced hot dogs were added as part of American influence. It's like Italy and the US got married and adopted a Filipino kid
You are lucky to find a sweet and good fiancé .Wishing you both love and happiness forever
"Thank you for loving me" is every man's dream to hear from a wife/girlfriend.
This was so much fun! Two people reminded Drew that HE'S the lucky one. That was so cute. Filipino people are the kindest people in the world.
Wow.....Drew, you are lucky to have Deanna, and her family.
That kids smile is just unbelievable…..what a great little guy.
The thumbnail was giving me Puerto Rico vibes, not the same but similar so I'm excited to see this video.
Thanx for loving our filipino culture…can’t wait to see your wedding video ❤
Thank you.
Hey Drew,
You made my day with this video 😅😅😅, it really touched my heart and brought me to tears. Who knows may be some day we'll unexpectedly meet in any karaoke bar 😁😁😁
All the best for you and your sweet wife and all these lovely kids in the video.
Martin from Germany
Nice video coming back to my old days in the Philippines. Warm people, nice environment, simple life and not too costly to live unlike here in the US. Soon i will retire there.
My dad was from Polangui, and several generations of our family. Got very nostalgic watching this video. Thank you, and congratulations!
the best pamamanhikan ever! Love It! thanks drew for keeping our tradition alive and for loving a fellow filipina

This is so heartwarming. Thank you for embracing, marrying into the Filipino culture. Such a joy to see this side of our country. Deanna is also very lucky to be marrying you. Best wishes!
My wife is also from Bicol. She moved here right after highschool in 2000. I met her 3 years later. Been together ever since. Best culture & food, great people.
Im so happy that you love the Philippines and you embrace our tradition. Best wishes to both of you
Visiting your fiancé's hometown in rural Philippines must have been such a meaningful experience. Love seeing the authentic side of the Philippines!
Finally visiting your family in the Pines. Seems very peaceful and everyone is friendly
i love this story! I was from Manila and married to a Bicolona. My mother-in-law was from Polangui, "Tuscano" family. It was also a memorable experience for me when they brought me to different towns on my first visit to Bicol. Congratulations to you both..
Wow..😍I'm so glad to know that your wife is from Bicol..I'm also from Bicol but in the province of Camarines Sur! Welcome to Bicol,Drew! And congrats on your wedding👰🏻🤵💐
Grabeh naiyak ako when Deana was reading off her list 😢 I am more inspired to push more! God bless this couple.
Seeing you drinking buko juice in a plastic is amazing! I remember my childhood totally, we used to drink juice and pop or soda in a plastic! I am from down south of the philippines, Zamboanga City to which ofcourse you have been to as well....thank you for visiting our country!
Im ur subscriber.its good u choice Bicolana may kababayan.u will never regrets..Bicolana is Loving and caring. GOD BLESS U BOTH GUYS
Congratulations Drew & Deanna! You’re a step closer to joining your lives forever❣️
I love how invested and in love you are with her culture and her family/heritage ❤

She is absolutely gorgeous ❤❤❤. You make a beautiful couple. You look so very happy Wishing you health and happiness. Congratulations 🎉
Its always nice to see people achieve their goals you can see how much it meant for her reading that list and realizing most the staff is ticked
Couldn’t help but notice the similarities in food to India! Tropical countries indeed! Drew, I love how you just delve deeply into every place you visit! This of course is home for you now! And, Congratulations on your wedding 😄
back then indian use to trade spice wit ph before
Your "personal" video is a good education. Many traditions remind me of other places too.
