Melanie, Thank You for your beautiful songs. I love your version of this song. You were a big part of my teenage years. I will miss you. RIP sweet angel.
Thanks for posting, Melanie ✌ Four weeks from now completes my 65th trip around the Sun and it has always been more enjoyable with your songs as my touchstone to vivid memories. You have my eternal gratitude ✌
@@golden.lights.twinkle2329 Yes it is. It is also on her UA-cam page if you noticed. And look and you'll find new music here also. She just turned 75 and almost sounds exactly like this. Such a unique voice and talent. Been with you almost your entire journey Ms. Safka
I have never heard this song , though I have listened to Melanie's music for many years!!!! Sounds amazing.....great soulful vocals and angelic guitar!!!
So sensitive, yet so powerful. So loving. Melanie, you have helped so many. Thank-You for helping me; guiding me from your Stoneground Words pictures I hung up in my rooms-home and grad school 💛
Thank you so much for these songs. I never heard this before. My favorite concert from my young adulthood was yours, in 1970. I've bought every album I could find and am beside myself to find your "official page". Thank you, thank you...
You can see how much this song speaks to you Melanie...sing these cords and kudo's to you for choosing a different path yet with hints of fame. We'll take you as you share what you will and forgive us for asking now and again for more.
I grew up listening to this, janis,Queen, so much music in my house rock an roll in basement, country in living room, protest songs from my sister, also Janis Ian. Still love all that music.
True story...I had a chance to see Melanie in concert way back around 1977. She was advertised for a concert in Dothan, Alabama. My girlfriend and I bought tickets for the show and made the 170-mile round trip. Sadly, she was being promoted as the warm-up act to a group I'd never heard of before, but she was absolutely the reason for our journey. At the time, we both thought it was strange that Melanie wasn't the headliner, but we went anyway! To our dismay, when the time came for Melanie to take the stage, someone took the mic and unapologetically announced that Melanie wouldn't be performing that night, and went on to introduce the unknown band. We were crushed!!! And, we didn't stay for the performance of the group we didn't know. To this day, I feel we were scammed and that it was not a fault of Melanie.
Wow!!!!👏👏👏👏♩🎶🎵🎼👏👏👏👏❤❤❤❤ What a beautiful song; the depth and interpretation you have are a balm to the soul is observed in your audience you transmit your feelings to them and to us past and present united by your music thanks for this song and the moment👌👌👌⚘⚘⚘
Were you close friends with Ochs? He's been my favorite songwriter since I was 16. I organized several tribute shows in St Louis between 2011-2014. Wish he'd stayed with us but I understand why he couldn't...
My first concert was Melanie at Adelaide Performing Arts Centre about 1978 and the best ever. She was my idol then and i even had a chance to meet her, except i got stagefright. The story of my life really 😂😅😞😩😭
19/08/20 I must have been living on a different planet because I haven't heard this song before today - or at least I don't think I have. It has a sense of urgency that reminds me of an old fashioned folk song from my yoof.
Nice song except for the reverbarating in the beginning. This guy Vibes’s work? Later on it improves and sounds more like the Melanie I know. Looking forward to her concert in September by the way 👍
It must be a great satisfaction seeing your 1971-self, play music in public, this is something almost none of us can experience.
I am close to 80 years but I am still here listening and enjoying you music thoroughly. Love you.
Your music is truly the soundtrack of my life. 40 year old songs are as fresh and relevant today as then, and they will be till the end. Love you!

The Flower Child of the Twentieth Century.
Amazing talent. Seems so strange she is singing this song and is surrounded by people moving around her with their cameras clicking!!
Her vibrato reminds me of Windy Frame, and Buffy St. Marie.
Did you ever meet Phil Ochs?
Yes, we performed together at a benefit concert for the people of Chile with Bob Dylan and others in '74.
@@MelaniesafkaTheRealMelanie This is great! You are both my favourite songwriters and I'm delighted to hear he liked your cover!

Count the ironic cameras in her face.
