Either they are out of shape or they fighting drunk that was depressing unless they fought until the point they were exhausted and missed all the action in the beginning
@@MedievalCombatSociety-py6vlits the armour thats heavy. Not the swords. Imagine how tiring it is to go running and lobbing a sword about in 40 lbs of armour.
Zweihänders are 4.4 to 8.8 lbs, distributed across 6 to 7 feet. The "heaviness" depends on how long you have trained with it. It is quite heavy for a beginner, to hold weight on a stick 6 feet away.
the first few swings are not heavy but soldiers used to get in combat fully armored let alone in the hot sun in a piece of metal and after half an hour (if you managed to survive) they would be completely exhausted however i can see a lightly armored two/hander who can archieve better results since heavy armors has quite the insulation inside hence making you exhausted quicker
@@MedievalCombatSociety-py6vl i'd suggest getting in touch with HEMA scholars, this choreography might be the worst, most stereotypical "knights were slow and heavy" trope I've ever seen. This is not how medieval fighting was done.
Ledall would be ashamed if he saw this, Fiore would cry, and Meyer would be sick
You mean fiore would go on a classist tirade about how peasants are dressed up in armor and bastardizing the art.
He's playing it out for the crowd. The slow dark soul swings.
Absolutely! And they love it!
my soul dies within me seeing them hurl those blades at each other like trees
They're swinging it like it's 50 pounds, and the actual Zweihender is only about 6.6 pounds. Terrible.
They're clearly just going less than 50% it's for the crowd
Sword fighting maybe, but definitely not great.
The title refers to the type of sword used.
this is ridiculous.

They are fighting like that because that's how movies show most swords
Think I'm about to vomit from how bad this is
Are greatswords that heavy?
No watch?v=pjM_8iwtMQ4
Awful
Greatswords really aren't that heavy
They are not light either.

Is it in the US? Knights should be with shotguns then
UK> Historical re-enactment of the 14th century. No guns.
@@MedievalCombatSociety-py6vlwhat about black powder keggs, are they allowed to be thrown to people?
@@mxcherryblue5943 Nope. Sorry.
Aww i was hoping to see some of those awesome momentum swings they use with those kind of swords :(
They look tired.
After 2 days at a show, performing for the audience, yes the knights do get tired.

what the hell is this. Why are you perpetuating hollywood myths with this terrible choreography?
Thank you for your comment. We portray a representation of English Medieval history.
With no more accuracy than Medieval Times restaurant.
