Sounds like 109 was struggling to grip there - not surprising with the 138 tonne central heating boiler though! Great sound though. 109 is certainly a loud growler.
Growler and Whistler class 37 and 40. The 40 is the bigger locomotive with 16 wheels, than the 37's 12 wheels. I'm sure the cabs are almost identical in appearance.

A total of 309 of them were built between 1960-1965 by English Electric, at The Vulcan Foundry and The Stephenson Works, and Hawthorn. Amazingly, many of them are still in mainline commercial use, (as I said before, they will become legendary). Quite a few of the remaining units are on heritage lines.

@James Smith Nice one. I signed 37s myself and for a little-un they are immense locos. They've done work far beyond what they were intended for, but it's good there are still several around on the main line, and will for many years yet. Only issue I had with them, especially in BR days, were the hellish draughts from the nose ends at speed! Other than that, loved every minute driving them.
