Why did you peel the potatoes? They're the best part. I have to eat some salt because my blood pressure gets too low and I get dizzy and sometimes fall. After a few years of Drs telling me to drink more water, I told them It was just going through me. Then they suggested that I eat some salt. I felt better in about 2 days. I wasn't vegan then. If I don't get enough salt now, my blood pressure drops and I feel it. It may be related to the fact that I sweating profusely presumably from autonomic neuropathy. One of the symptoms is low blood pressure. When I went vegan, most of my chronic illnesses went away or got much better, but, the neuropathy is nerve damage which won't get better. I love your channel. Lot's of great ideas. I eat a lot of sprouts. I keep them growing in quart jars. I like them to get good and green before I eat them. I put them on most things I eat.

I don't know how you appeared in my feed, but it's the biggest 2021 xmas present i could have wished for. Cheese sauce, and cheese sauce alone is the reason we've been living in the twilight zone of vegetarianism for many months. I look forward to much health in 2022.

Dillon, I absolutely love your style of communicating and showing what you're doing. Wanted to throw this in: I know it's likely to not matter to ya, but if you or any of your worldlings do want to get the bonus of getting the good bacteria from the miso paste you add to the cheesy sauce, just don't mix it in while cooking. Wait til the sauce has cooled down to lower than 118 degrees fahrenheit (the good bacteria dies during cooking). I'd just smear the miso around the sides of my broccoli bowl and then pour the cooled sauce in and mix it all around, that way it's not mixed into the leftover sauce, so you can reheat it without killing the healthy bacteria. Anyway, I love your recipes and I thank you for bothering to make these videos and answer our questions!! :) :)

There’s the avocado pudding that is basically avocado, cocoa/cacao, and whatever sweetener you feel comfortable. There is another, very similar, utilizing aquafaba as the main ingredient instead of avocado, in this case you just whip it like whipped cream or meringue until it gets stiff peaks.

About chocolate.... I grow a lot of chocolate mint and it is a total game changer. I make shakes, chocolate date balls, and more with it for my chocolate fix. It's a great way to incorporate more greens into your recipes! I also grow ginger mint, lemon mint, spearmint along with basils like thai, genova and so on. There are healthy ways to eat chocolate!

Something that helped me with GERD is not eating or using any kind of mint. Mint relaxes the muscle that holds your food in your stomach. Just for those who may have a problem. Nice to be rid of those GERD problems.

@@smallfootprint2961 Good point! Congrats on eliminating your triggers! That's great that you figured that out. Food sensitivities of any kind, once identified, should be avoided. Kudos to you. :-) I'm learning that I can't tolerate nutritional yeast among other things and the elimination diet was well worth the effort to find out what was causing my rashes and angioedema.... I'm no longer suffering, yeah!

For the question about chocolate- try carob! Toasted carob powder is similar to cocoa powder but is naturally not bitter almost sweet so it works great with fruit sweeten treats. Extra bonus no caffeine like cocoa if that's a problem for anyone. I have been using carob for over 50 years- love it!

Thank you.. i have recently been medically advised that as well as vegan i have to go gluten and lactose free. Sounds simple enough yet i am struggling. My body is constantly craving. Your explanations are helping me to understand (in some cases) where i am going wrong. Thanks from Australia 🐨

Modestly Vegan i live in Australia and am finding that a lot of times gluten is hidden. Ie some brands of soy contain gluten whilst other brands dont. It appears that oats contain gluten. I thought it didnt. Lots of cereals and grains contain gluten. I have asked at book shops for a book of guidelines on what does or doesnt contain gluten - so far, no success. Never did i realise it would be such a problem. I would love to be able to take a recipe and be able to convert it - thats my aim. Just need to ibtain the knowledge i need. Any suggestions?

      Hey Lesley,
Fellow Aussie here. Best thing you could ever do for your health is cut dairy (and gluten and/or refined flours). My advice is to be patient while your gut microbiome adapts and adjusts to an increase in plant foods, fibre, and low fat. Once all the good stuff (wholefood plants) crowds out your old foods, you will notice the cravings reduce. Also, if it is sugar cravings, you may need a chromium and vanadium supplement. Watch heaps of whole food plant based videos for inspiration too. Good luck.

Lesley Oliver fellow Aussie here too 😜 just take each week at a time. Make your own sauces, cook at home as much as possible. You can get gluten free oats...they may or may not work well for you. Instead of oats for porridge I like rice, millet or buckwheat (no gluten).

I didn’t think to add red pepper flakes to it. I’m definitely going to try that!

@@WellYourWorld Hey Dillon. This cheese sauce looks so delicious and the bonus is that it is guilt free! 😊 How long will this sauce keep in the refrigerator?
