In this video it's just the "natural" sound of the snare, if you pay attention nor Shawn nor Chris are hitting the keg at all during that performance. :)
Mutherfuqbucket i dont know if this is true or not but i heard they were supposed to play Left Behind because that was their most radio friendly song off IOWA but they said fuck that and played The Heretic Anthem. if its true then thats fucking badass 😂
@RegurgiNATE They did (SIC) on Letterman in 99? WHAT? He allowed that on NBC??????????????????????????? get the fk out , now i will find that vid......and if you are wrong I will find you......
this performance led to them getting the drummer they have now. the drummer for conans band is Max wienberg, and his son is Jay. he told his son he had to see this band. took him to a show, met them after, and 11 years later became their drummer when joey was kicked out.
Jay Weinberg was a Slipknot fan, there’s footage of him wearing a bootleg Corey Taylor mask while meeting the band. You’re right that he’s Max’s son though, and he helped Jay get backstage to meet the band for the first time
"Can I get one time where I can just go ahead and stretch.." Yeah, it's that time before you press 'play'. If you haven't done it by then, it's already too late.
At this point in Slipknot it was James Root, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Clown (Shaun Crahan), Sid (DJ), Craig (spike head), Paul Gray (Bass), Joey Jordison (Drums), and Chris Fehn (long nose). Later they lost Paul to OD and replaced him with Alessandro Venturella, then Joey left, and was replaced with Jay Weinberg, and most recently the kicked Chris Fehn our, and are keeping the new members name a secret.
He said "Clown dropped the mic on em" Conan actual had Slipknot on when they only had one album before this performance. Look it up. This is from their second album "Iowa". The Dj's name is Sid the way.
This was my exact reaction to Slipknot when I first heard them in 2005. I only listened to 90s Hip Hop at the time. Been a maggot ever since. Love your reaction videos 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
They chose the most wicked song on the Iowa album, which was new at the time, to play on Conan. They didn't pick something more TV or Radio friendly. Because Slipknot has always been the goats of metal!!!
This is the second time Slipknot was on Conan.. they're on their playing Wait and Bleed off their first album yrs before this one.. makes me believe Conan is a Metalhead
Here's some help: Heretic means sinner which ties into the chorus where the lyrics "If you're 555 than I'm 666" are said. As you may know 666 is the number of the beast/devil, means that they're saying if people think that they're satanic cuz they're different so be it addressing the common criticism they receive. Great video as always stay lit 🔥💯.
Sid Wilson is the DJ. Aka DJ Starscream. A bit of an oddball but a cool dude. I love these slipknot videos! But if you wanna step up the heavy, you gotta listen to Thy Art is Murder-Holy War, or Make America Hate Again. I’ll comment every day until one happens 😂 and where in Florida? I’m by Tampa.
I love this video. Slipknot on broadcast TV. Half the country pissed themselves that night. Soon you will have to react to TOOL. Almost every metalhead has those guys in their playlist somewhere. A bit more psychedelic with a lot of substance.
In this video, you know the members: Corey Taylor, Mick Thomson, Jim (James) Root. Drummer is Joey Jordison. Percussionists: Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Chris Fehn is the dude with the long nose, Sid Wilson is the DJ, turn table dude with that skull on his disc. Craig Jones is sampling.
You should try some Gojira. Stranded or Silvera are great and also have music videos. Or if you want a good reaction channel classic try ‘Heaviest Matter of The Universe’. Gojira have a lot of incredible songs that are great to react to, don’t miss out! 🤟🏼
You've got to experience a live show! I saw them in Houston and Sid (the Dj) had two broken ankles/legs, was in a wheelchair and was still going 100%.. hanging from Chris and Clown's hydraulic drum kits.. 🤘🤘
i know this is late but prior to them going on the air with "the heretic anthem" they were going to play "left behind" but changed it just minutes to going live. when asked why they changed it corey said: where can you scream 555 and 666 live on national tv. little history on this performance
The DJ is Sid Wilson and this was when Joey Jordenson was in the band and God I miss him being in the band in my opinion one of my favorite drummers ever. And of course this was with the late Paul Gray
I saw this when it aired on TV. I think Conan’s a fan. He had them back on his show several times after this performance. This was also the first time I saw Slipknot perform at all. We didn’t have UA-cam back then.
Max Weinberg Conan's house drummer also plays with Bruce Springsteen and the e Street band was so impressed with the drummer he went and told his 14-year-old son who is an up-and-coming drummer at 14 years old ended up becoming slipknot's drummer in 2014 when Joey jordison left the band and he was Slipknot drummer for 5 years to 2019 there's some trivia for you if you look up on UA-cam and look for Jay Weinberg plays with Slipknot they have a bunch of drum cams of Jay Weinberg playing with Slipknot
Lead guitar: Mick Thomson Vocalist: Corey Taylor Rhythm guitarist: Jim root Bassist: in this video was Paul grey and is currently Alessandro Venturella Drummer: in the video Joey Jordison and is currently Jay Weinberg. DJ: Sid Wilson Percussionists Shawn the “clown” Crahan and Chris fein “nose guy” Sampler: Craig Jones aka “113” or “spike head” I’m sure he’s looked these up by now but for anyone else who was curious.
The DJ is Sid. Corey has been quoted saying that Sid is a complete psychopath. Sid has the Decepticon insignia tattooed on both of his hands.... he's pretty much my spirit animal.
West Coastin' one of my favorite concerts! And a lot of people haven’t seen it ! 1 million have but still spit it out has way more. That vol 3 era was my favorite. All the members looked so hyped during that full show
After Iowa (their 2nd album) the music really dialed back on the dark and intense sounds. Vol. 3 was more experimental and more harmonic and melodic than Iowa and self titled. and all hope is gone which I believe was the bands first album to reach number 1 on the billboard charts. And it was even more melodic, harmonic and ambient than their previous albums. And .5 the gray chapter had a different style and sound than before but that tends to happen after losing 2 members. With their newest album we are not your kind it's a mix of the new slipknot sound, and a mix of iowa, vol. 3, and AHIG. At least that's how it sounds to me.
For the next Slipknot song, I suggest you reacting to Left behind official video from the same album IOWA, thanks before and keep up the good work man🤘
The album version is even heavier! Lol! Got to check out Disasterpiece and My Plauge (album version not the music video) Also check out Stone Sour which is Corey Taylor's other band, that also had Jim Root in it until about 2014. Also YOU HAVE to check out A Different World by Korn featuring Corey Taylor. Also check out Wither by Tech9 featuring Corey Taylor and Kid Bookie Stuck In My Ways with Corey Taylor. Both are hard rap songs and killer!! ❤❤
You need to check out how Slipknot was originally meant to be. Check out one of their songs from their Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat album. Its considered to be their demo album.
I remember staying up late to watch this live...my mom couldn't believe they let this on air...conan has always been good to Slipknot
Deuce - dude, I remember thinking they were gonna play left behind and my jaw dropped when this kicked in
fuck yeaaH!
That's not a cowbell, it's a beer keg. They used to use them constantly. Conan is a Metal head. Loves Slipknot
In this video it's just the "natural" sound of the snare, if you pay attention nor Shawn nor Chris are hitting the keg at all during that performance. :)
And Joey has multiple different sized cowbells
@@befrnigelyep, the tightest snare of all time! RIP Joey 🖤
Slipknot - Disasterpiece live from Disasterpieces DVD
i was just about to suggest that
Still my favorite 🤘
They lyrics start off a bit questionable but the song is good
I remember watching this on conan. He caught so much flack for this performance lol
Maybe it was the nose jerk off chris did...yeah it was probably the nose jerk off. Lol
Mutherfuqbucket i dont know if this is true or not but i heard they were supposed to play Left Behind because that was their most radio friendly song off IOWA but they said fuck that and played The Heretic Anthem. if its true then thats fucking badass 😂
Back then he was “edgy” he lost advertisers for the masterbating bear skit.
Conan is a huge Slipknot fan haha
@RegurgiNATE They did (SIC) on Letterman in 99? WHAT? He allowed that on NBC??????????????????????????? get the fk out , now i will find that vid......and if you are wrong I will find you......

What I knew was, for this gig max wineberg was playing drums.
The member is probably just a hired gun, I worked on the KnotFest Tour last month and that person's stage cooler is only label stage right percussion
Tortilla maaaaaan
it killin still what so
MICHAEL PFAFF BABY
Conan had Slipknot on before this. They played "Wait and Bleed." He was one of the first to book them and opened the doors for other talk shows.
Thanks family!!! I appreciate you🙏🏽💪🏽 #GIBBYGANG
Fun fact: Slipknot's newest drummer Jay Weinberg is the son of Max Weinberg, Conan o'Brien's drummer sidekick. Also the drummer for The E Street band.
They chose the most wicked song on the Iowa album, which was new at the time, to play on Conan. They didn't pick something more TV or Radio friendly. Because Slipknot has always been the goats of metal!!!

Came here from his Stone Sour's "Bother" reaction, love the difference between the vibes
I love it when they all are headbanging 4:46 and 5:57
And this is why Conan is the coolest late night guy.
This is the second time Slipknot was on Conan.. they're on their playing Wait and Bleed off their first album yrs before this one.. makes me believe Conan is a Metalhead
I miss Chris Fehn, his mask was my favourite.
This song and albums was a direct message to the music genre
Here's some help: Heretic means sinner which ties into the chorus where the lyrics "If you're 555 than I'm 666" are said. As you may know 666 is the number of the beast/devil, means that they're saying if people think that they're satanic cuz they're different so be it addressing the common criticism they receive. Great video as always stay lit 🔥💯.
555 is also a way for pilots to say everything is normal/good. So if you are 555 "Normal" then I am 666 "Different."
Hell yeah please do some Thy Art is Murder!
Me too. Palm Harbor
Holy wars is great, make America hate again is garbage.
Gibby Gang, you’re the man brother! I love seeing your reaction videos because you show no prejudice! Godless you my brother!!

I second that motion...I'm all for crossovers because music is a universal language
Who would of thought, the drummers son of this show (Conan) would end up joining this band years later.
Life is crazy.
Jay was 10 in 2001
Slipknot - Spit It Out ; Live at Dynamo 2000. Probably one of the craziest most pits I've seen by slipknot.
Absolutely hilarious 🤘🏻 Mega-props to you and your reactions #SLIPKNOT
I love slipknot still one of my favorite metal bands
I love this video. Slipknot on broadcast TV. Half the country pissed themselves that night.
Soon you will have to react to TOOL. Almost every metalhead has those guys in their playlist somewhere. A bit more psychedelic with a lot of substance.
This performance is history and it went viral on peer 2 peer networks. I'm 32 now remember those days were awesome!
ABSOLUTELY love this song, gotta play it from the ALBUM, JOEEEY
Got to get Korn and Slipknot live cover of Sabotage
In this video, you know the members: Corey Taylor, Mick Thomson, Jim (James) Root. Drummer is Joey Jordison. Percussionists: Shawn "Clown" Crahan, Chris Fehn is the dude with the long nose, Sid Wilson is the DJ, turn table dude with that skull on his disc. Craig Jones is sampling.
I stayed up and taped this on a VHS back when it aired. Yeah. I'm old.... and I still got the VHS.

i know this is late but prior to them going on the air with "the heretic anthem" they were going to play "left behind" but changed it just minutes to going live. when asked why they changed it corey said: where can you scream 555 and 666 live on national tv. little history on this performance
fun fact, conan drummer max weinberg introduced his little boy to slipknot, that little boy grew up to be in slipknot
Yeah Gibby!!! Congrats on the 100k!!! 🤘🤘

Always love the intro
React to Korn Featuring slipknot live London 2015
I love how he thought Joey's snare was a cowbell. The dude who did the sound for this performance doesn't know how to mix properly.
dude i enjoy rocking with a hip hop head on it! great!! please do Disasterpiece by them, you will like it, have a fantastic evening:)
Disasterpiece from the Disasterpieces dvd, the live version is going to blow your nuts off!
Awesome reaction 🤘🏻 love this band 😈
This performance is rock n roll history
This is a beautiful song 🌠🌠🌠
Sid look so goofy, i love this guy
"ok, Chris...we are going to be on network tv...so, dont touch your nose the way you like to touch your nose."
"aww, c'mon!"
He said is that cowbell but it was just Joey’s snare 😂 great reaction man
As an ex metal musician, there’s nothing better than effing up a stage and then walking off like nothing happened.
He caught hell for introducing Slipknot on his show,
The DJ is Sid. Corey has been quoted saying that Sid is a complete psychopath. Sid has the Decepticon insignia tattooed on both of his hands.... he's pretty much my spirit animal.
Best to watch heretic anthem live blows your mind
WORLDWIDE EXCLUSIVE
If you want an easy song vermillion pt 1 and pt2 also snuff are not heavy hitting beat wise but hits hard on the feels
Conan (and of course D-Gibbs) are the real homies
Imagine the snare sounding like a cow bell
Conan had them on recently when they released unsainted
Slipknot sic live 2005 Australia
West Coastin' one of my favorite concerts! And a lot of people haven’t seen it ! 1 million have but still spit it out has way more. That vol 3 era was my favorite. All the members looked so hyped during that full show
Give Sulfur by Slipknot a listen! It's got one of the BEST hooks of any song ever and the Lyrics will give you a LOT to talk about.
The DJ is Sid Wilson AKA DJ Starscream
Conan is the only tolerable late show host - he is great!
DJ is Sid. Love his new mask XD
One of my favorite songs.

The struggle is real. My neck can’t keep up either! 😅😅😅
D J starscream is the d.j for slipknot
For the next Slipknot song, I suggest you reacting to Left behind official video from the same album IOWA, thanks before and keep up the good work man🤘
Sid is the DJ, Chris is the one with plague mask
The album version is even heavier! Lol! Got to check out Disasterpiece and My Plauge (album version not the music video) Also check out Stone Sour which is Corey Taylor's other band, that also had Jim Root in it until about 2014.
