In the Clockwork Princess epilogue, it's mentioned that Sophie was present on the day of Will's death along with her two daughters. This makes no sense since Barbara died in 1903. How would she be there? I thought it was a continuity error, but someone asked Cassie about this on Tumblr, and she said that the book did not mention Barbara's name, only two daughters. What does this mean??? Do Sophie and Gideon have another child or something??

Phew so glad I found this video. I've been breaking my head over this hell of a family tree. One thing I can say for sure is that Cassie thoroughly loves torturing and misleading us and watching us coming up with theories to explain stuff. Tbh I hadn't remembered the tree showing James and Cordelia getting married. So when I first started reading CoG and seeing the mention of Mattew's green eyes and Cordelia's dark red hair, I was so strongly reminded of Clary (I know she's ginger but bare with me). A small part of me still expects Matthew and Cordelia to end up together who'd then be the ancestors of Clary Fairchild, but I love Jordelia much MUCH more.

I've been dying for a video like this that goes into such detail!! I'm so scared for what's going to happen to Matthew. Another scary detail is that jem told Emma about how he had stripped shadowhunter marks (when she asked about the parabatai punishments) while he was a silent brother; I'd never actually thought about it chronologically and had assumed it was talking about Edmund (will's dad). But obviously, that can't make sense because jem wasn't even alive then. I think in this scene jem was talking about when he stripped Matthews marks🥺

I love Matthew (he's probably my fave or one of them from TLH) and I want him to be happy, but I also lowkey kinda want his marks to be stripped just because we haven't really seem much of that in the main series, and I'm curious to see how that would affect his relationship with James and his family.
I totally agree with you - Matthew is such a great complex character and it’s interesting to see him cope with what his life throws at him, that being said, I think if he does get his marks stripped then it will change the whole dynamic of TLH gang and the surrounding family as well... guess we’ll just have to wait and see!

For all of you farstairs shippers, I just needed to point out that I once read somewhere that Henry was the first person to introduce the red hair into the fairchild family line. So, I have this huge theory that Cordelia(whomst also has red hair) is the second to introduce the red hair trait into the fairchild line^_^ so maybe just maybe this is the case.
Not that I'm discounting the theories, but I always figured the reason she said Matthew was not on the family tree is because it is not a Fairchild Family Tree. It is only the Herondales, Lightwoods, and Carstairs. Presumably, Matthew did not marry any of them, so he wouldn't be mentioned.

I've literally spent HOURS analyzing that family tree and this is what I think *cracks knuckles* james and Cordelia are endgame, meaning their arranged marriage will turn into a real one. I've got zero doubts about that. Their child as correctly stated in the family tree will continue the herondale line all the way to Jace. Jesse and Lucie are also endgame, biggest hint about that are the description of their eyes: green and light blue, that get passed down to the blackthorn family we see in the dark artifices. she will successfully resurrect Jesse, but I've got no idea why her birthdate would be wrongly dated in the family tree. Ive got zero clues what's up with Matthew. the theory about him turning into a downworlder seems plausible, but only as in him getting turned into a werewolf, because if he'd be a vampire, we would have DEFINITELY seen or heard about him in the mortal instruments or the dark artifices. I also think its possible he'd be the one getting the marks stripped, but of course somehow still being a part of the gang. Thomas and Alastair are endgame and adopt the third child of sona, because shell die of childbirth/other circumstances. Mostly I believe that because Thomastair is Life and I don't accept anything else than their happiness. WHAT has got me sweating in my sleep at night is both of their death dates being so early in life. this has to be a lie to cover shit up. I cry just thinking about it. Obviously Anna and Ariadne are endgame (as Anna doesn't *marry* anyone on that family tree) Charles marries some other girl (Barbara maybe? I hope not tho, she deserves better), and continuing down the Fairchild line down to clary. of course that could also be Matthews children, but his whole deal has got me worried lmao. Fucking Christoper and Grace. WTF. Got no explanation for THAT. it could honestly be a real romance, developing in the last two books in the last hours. When I saw that James and Cordelia (even though I hope they are) are going to be together, same with Grace and Christopher (what the hell?), I was like: okey, you spoiled it to yourself, you're done, that's how is it going to be. Okay so another theory I have about grace-chris, and little alexander lightwood Is that maybe grace and chris do have a Platonic friendship, but Alex is a bit of a wreck! One of the people magnus never saves and ends up having children, but being a terrible father for them and never truly marrying, so Grace and Chris take in his children, and restore the family honor. Therefore explaining how the lightwoods proceed through chris, but still look like Alexander. This would also explain the whole antique white lace dress that izzy finds that was possibly handed down to her by grace. Besides I love the idea of Grace redeeming herself this way and taking care of children who need the love and care she never received as a child!

Jace has James’ golden eyes and looks like Kit!! I know it’s not much to go on but I think there have been times when Jace has been compared to James which hopefully means he’s related to him! And the main shock factor of Alec’s colourings is that they are similar to Will’s, that’s why Tessa and Jem do a double take in GOTSM. So it’s definitely one of Cecily’s kids that Alec and Izzy are descended from, just not sure which one!!

Imma be skeptical since we haven't heard anything about it since like 2016 but with a healthy dose curiosity. If Matthew marries Cordelia, it won't actually make Jace and Clary related. HOWEVER. If Owen Herondale was actually the son of Cordelia and Matthew, and Jordelia is endgame and if James and Cordelia raise the child as their own to save her reputation, that would make Jace and Clary related. I've been dying for a video like this that goes into such detail!! I'm so scared for what's going to happen to Matthew. Another scary detail is that jem told Emma about how he had stripped shadowhunter marks (when she asked about the parabatai punishments) while he was a silent brother; I'd never actually thought about it chronologically and had assumed it was talking about Edmund (will's dad). But obviously, that can't make sense because jem wasn't even alive then. I think in this scene jem was talking about when he stripped Matthews marks🥺
And he talked about it with such EMOTION like he really knew the person it happened to. Idk, but it being Matthew fits really well... which I hate :(

I didn't know I needed those Matthew and Alistair theories in my life until now. I love Matthew (he's probably my fave or one of them from TLH) and I want him to be happy, but I also lowkey kinda want his marks to be stripped just because we haven't really seem much of that in the main series, and I'm curious to see how that would affect his relationship with James and his family.
I totally agree with you - Matthew is such a great complex character and it’s interesting to see him cope with what his life throws at him, that being said, I think if he does get his marks stripped then it will change the whole dynamic of TLH gang and the surrounding family as well... guess we’ll just have to wait and see!
I just had a thought, what if Eugenia was ruined because she slept with someone and Sophie in chain of iron goes to visit her and then realises that she is actually pregant, perhaps with twin daughters and Sophie ends up covering for her saying their her own?

Jesse has black hair and green eyes, Lucie has brown hair blue eyes... but what if their children may have inherited the green-blue eyes and perhaps maybe even Their grandmothers (tessa’s) grey eyes and BOOM we now have Ty’s features

I have another crazy thought going on in my head might not be the first one to have this thought but what if cortana is reforged by the angel? As Arthur said cortana was once broken by an angel during a war and said mercy is better than revenge. What if cortana is reforged by the angel and that gave cortana some angelic powers like the mortal sword? Like as the mortal sword strip out the truth out of shadowhunters by pain, cortana might burn or cause pain to cordelia if she lies holding cortana in her hand?

I just needed to point out that I once read somewhere that Henry was the first person to introduce the red hair into the fairchild family line. So, I have this huge theory that Cordelia(whomst also has red hair) is the second to introduce the red hair trait into the fairchild line^_^ so maybe just maybe this is the case.

Not that I'm discounting the theories, but I always figured the reason she said Matthew was not on the family tree is because it is not a Fairchild Family Tree. It is only the Herondales, Lightwoods, and Carstairs. Presumably, Matthew did not marry any of them, so he wouldn't be mentioned.

I've literally spent HOURS analyzing that family tree and this is what I think *cracks knuckles*
james and Cordelia are endgame, meaning their arranged marriage will turn into a real one. I've got zero doubts about that. Their child as correctly stated in the family tree will continue the herondale line all the way to Jace.
Jesse and Lucie are also endgame, biggest hint about that are the description of their eyes: green and light blue, that get passed down to the blackthorn family we see in the dark artifices. she will successfully resurrect Jesse, but I've got no idea why her birthdate would be wrongly dated in the family tree.
Ive got zero clues what's up with Matthew. the theory about him turning into a downworlder seems plausible, but only as in him getting turned into a werewolf, because if he'd be a vampire, we would have DEFINITELY seen or heard about him in the mortal instruments or the dark artifices. I also think its possible he'd be the one getting the marks stripped, but of course somehow still being a part of the gang.
Thomas and Alastair are endgame and adopt the third child of sona, because shell die of childbirth/other circumstances. Mostly I believe that because Thomastair is Life and I don't accept anything else than their happiness. WHAT has got me sweating in my sleep at night is both of their death dates being so early in life. this has to be a lie to cover shit up. I cry just thinking about it.
Obviously Anna and Ariadne are endgame (as Anna doesn't *marry* anyone on that family tree)

Okay so another theory I have about grace-chris, and little alexander lightwood Is that maybe grace and chris do have a Platonic friendship, but Alex is a bit of a wreck! One of the people magnus never saves and ends up having children, but being a terrible father for them and never truly marrying, so Grace and Chris take in his children, and restore the family honor. Therefore explaining how the lightwoods proceed through chris, but still look like Alexander. This would also explain the whole antique white lace dress that izzy finds that was possibly handed down to her by grace. Besides I love the idea of Grace redeeming herself this way and taking care of children who need the love and care she never received as a child!

About Christopher and the Lightwoods .. I guess their looks change over generations? I mean look at Jace he bears no resemblance to James, Cordelia, Will nor Tessa in his coloring .. at least we know the lightwoods have a lot of black haired blue eyed people 🤷🏻♀️ also the purple eyes is definitely a recessive gene that would hardly continue down the line.
Jace has James’ golden eyes and looks like Kit!! I know it’s not much to go on but I think there have been times when Jace has been compared to James which hopefully means he’s related to him! And the main shock factor of Alec’s colourings is that they are similar to Will’s, that’s why Tessa and Jem do a double take in GOTSM. So it’s definitely one of Cecily’s kids that Alec and Izzy are descended from, just not sure which one!!

Imma be skeptical since we haven't heard anything about it since like 2016 but with a healthy dose curiosity. The twins, a red head is taken in by Charles (becoming Clarys ancestor), and the blond is taken in by Alastair and Thomas (becoming Emmas ancestor).
