Maybe Angel Nightshade was a Shadowhunter but fell in love with his Parabatei. The Clave has found out about the relationship between him and his Parabatei and wanted to chase him. They took his runes after that he was able to escape but was bitten and turned into a Vampire. Maybe Ansel has found a way to control the power of the "Parabatei Love" and could help Emma. I now it's not a good theorie. But it is really hard to explain what I think about. Sorry for my bad English. Hope you can comprehend the theory just a little bit.

I 100% agree with what you said about Clace and how it's a positive thing that CC is using her books to share the message to girls/women that they are capable of making decisions and they don't need to marry young or at all! One one of my theories is the Seelie Queen plays a role in the somehow and offers Emma or Jules something to help with their predicament but at a price and it all goes wrong cause it's the seelie queen and she like the devil!

*BIG GIANT ANNABEL THEORIE* ANNABEL AND EVA BLACKTHORN (Tobias Herondale's wife) WERE SISTERS. Ok. I will try to make this as short as I can. But, firstly, sorry for the grammar. English is not my first language. So, I may have spoiled myself reading the recent posts in Cassie's Tumblr and the Shadowhunters-wikia and (YEAH) TfSA but here's the information I pulled out of these things. Tumblr: Answering a question of why Malcom believed the lie of the whole Annabel-thing coming from other people who weren't even born (Tessa, Jem), Cassie told us the romance between Annabelle and Malcom happened in the 1820 decade. Shadowhunters-wiki: Another warlock will be introduced. The question here is. Have we ever seen this warlock before? So, while I was reading the second story in TfSA (TLH), I realized that Tobias Herondale was married to Eva BLACKTHORN. This events happened in 1827. So clicking and connecting all this information, what if Eva and Annabel were sisters? They were Blackthorn, so they're family! But remember, Tobias lost his mind because an spell A WARLOCK CASTED ON HIM. Then, we know the Clave killed Eva because of her husband's "treason". The Blackthorns always knew all this shit was wrong! They knew this situation was UNFAIR! And that could perfectly explain why they chose "Lex malla, lex nulla" as their family motto. It was because of Warlock why their beloved Eva died, they knew it wasn't Tobias' fault! The only crime he ever commited was to love Eva so much for him to go after her, thinking she was in pain. So, when the Blackthorns realized Annabel and Malcom were in a relationship (I suppose Annabelle's family didn't ever know she and Malcom were close), HER HIGHBORN KINSMEN CAME to stop what these two had! Because, why would the Blackthorns allow one of his daughters to date a Warlock, knowing it was a Warlock's fault the life of Eva and Tobias ended up in the way it had! Bringing that knowledge to LoS, maybe if Annabel really wakes up,(idk if Annabel will come back as a zombie but let's think she does not) will Catarina Loss be appearing because she saved that steam of the Herondale line and help Annabel accep what happened back then in 1820 cause she will discover that Kit is the descendent of this giant lost line of Herondales. Annabelle is like a GREAT GREAT GREAAAAAAAAT AUNT fot Kit. And something is going to happened with these two. I don't know what, but this is real shit._.

I totally agree with the Clary/Jace theory. Something else I noticed (which could be insignificant but cmon it's Cassie Clare) was that in Tales of the Shadowhunter Academy, Alec asks Magnus about marriage at one point. Magnus said that it wouldn't/couldn't happen (probably because of the clave). Cassie makes it obvious though that they can be happy without marriage. I meant they have TWO KIDS. So anyway, to prove my point, Cassandra Clare is well aware that people can be in love without marriage and I definitely think she can use this plot point for Jace and Clary.
I cannot wait for LOS!! I have pre-ordered the paperback and the Kindle version haha... I cannot wait for more Kit and Ty!! I so agree about Anselm Nightshade, there is a 0% chance that is coincidence. What do you think about Mark and Kieran?
My theory: Anselm nightshade is Kit's father. I could be wrong, but from what we learn in Tales from the SA, Tobias heronadale didn't exactly die. He went mad in the woods, but Catarina I don't think announced him dead. What if he ran into a vampire, or a clan, and got Turned? Vampirism can apparently cure many illnesses and makes u look 'perfect' by ridding u of ur aesthetic imperfections, so why not of mental illness? Anselm is in fact Tobias Herondale, and therefore this links onto the theory that Anselm was once a shadowhunter, leading Kit to be his great great (etc.) grandson

yeeEes, so happy you made a theory vid for lord of shadows!! i'm so excited for lord of shadows!! also yes, i need the wicked powers to be about ty and kit. ty was one of my favourite characters in lady midnight (i actually hardcore love him because he and his way of being and like... not being able to fit in normal schooling systems and such, is a lot like my own little brother. i'm so glad cassie created a character like him) also, with the lord of shadows, i think it could indeed be jules! though at first i though it might be a reference to james because we know that the dark artifices and the last hour are going to intertwine. we don't know how yet, but i think the fact that they're going to the london institute (home base of the last hour kiddos) and that the title of this book is lord of darkness says enough.

i actually think ty is going to become a centurion and by the time he comes back the Wicked Powers will begin because i also do think he and kit are the main two in that series (also gives cassclare a perfect way to angst up their relationship by splitting them up before TWD.. which is PAIN but im too excited to mind) i've read somewhere that ppl think livvy and kit will be parabatai instead which isn't terrible.. i loved the rest of your thoughts though so much! this is just what i was thinking for kitty in particular :D

Great video, Emma! These theories are amazing. :) Honestly, the fact that Cassie said she'll confirm who will be the leads in TWP after this book makes me think that one of the four characters who die in this book will be a character who could, without their death, very well be one of those leads. I really don't think Kit or Ty will die- I really do think they will be the main characters in TWP, but Livvy I am less sure about. I don't want it to happen at all, but I feel like she might die and that Ty may then start to wish that he had become parabatai with her because he will no longer have that option. And deeply regretting not becoming parabatai could serve as a great contrast to Emma and Julian's situation (and possibly lead Ty to focus on them and notice that something is wrong). Plus, another main Blackthorn could be Dru who was almost more present I feel in Lady Midnight than Livvy was. I feel like the two is meant to mislead us, and Dru won't be too young. Also, I feel like something big is going to happen and make us even more attached to Dru in this book, considering we are going to England where her aunt who is absolutely horrible to her about her body is. Part of TWP could be the fact that Ty and Dru both have extended family members who really don't understand or want to understand them or how they are hurting them and how Kit's dad who is gone didn't want him to understand himself.

I've read all the Shadowhunter books (aside from the Bane Chronicles) and even read the Mortal Instruments books a second time in preparation for City of Heavenly Fire, but I swear, I still miss so much information. I just can't keep all the details straight. Watching this video vaguely brought back snippets of Lady Midnight but I feel like I'd need to reread it to really get into Lord of Shadows. But the books are all so big! I don't know how Cassie keeps everything coherent when everything is intertwined and just weaved together so intricately. Kudos to her, and to all the readers who can keep track as well. I think I just get so into the fast paced feel of the books that I don't fully retain everything I read. It's almost like the first read through is similar to just skimming the book even though I read all of it. I just wish I could follow it better and remember all the details.
Imagine Cassie shuts down this Emma and Mark theory in the first 50 pages. We would all be so disappointed. I totally agree with your theories. I can't really decide where I am in the camp of theories, it's been too long since I've read the later books of TMI and honestly, Lady Midnight wasn't my favorite (shocker, I know). I'm re-reading them all in preparation for LoS, I've been through TID and I'm on book 4 of TMI right now so, maybe once I've finished those I'll have some theories of my own. =)
These theories were SO fantastic, I will absolutely be thinking of them when I read Lord of Shadows. A lot of people were confused as to how the Blackthorn blood could have been shed if nobody died so I'm thinking because Cassandra Clare didn't specify if someone really had to die, maybe only a little Blackthorn blood had to be shed- obviously intended by Malcolm. In Lady Midnight, Malcolm sent a note to Julian and when Julian read it out loud the room exploded. In that moment Ty hurt his leg because a bit of glass went in it and it was bleeding. What if that was the Blackthorn blood that had to be shed? It was because of Malcolm that Ty injured his leg and maybe nobody had to actually die. Just a theory- what do you guys think??? *BIG GIANT ANNABEL THEORIE*
ANNABEL AND EVA BLACKTHORN (Tobias Herondale's wife) WERE SISTERS.
Ok. I will try to make this as short as I can. But, firstly, sorry for the grammar. English is not my first language.
So, I may have spoiled myself reading the recent posts in Cassie's Tumblr and the Shadowhunters-wikia and (YEAH) TfSA but here's the information I pulled out of these things.

Answering a question of why Malcom believed the lie of the whole Annabel-thing coming from other people who weren't even born (Tessa, Jem), Cassie told us the romance between Annabelle and Malcom happened in the 1820 decade.
Shadowhunters-wiki:
Another warlock will be introduced. The question here is. Have we ever seen this warlock before?
So, while I was reading the second story in TfSA (TLH), I realized that Tobias Herondale was married to Eva BLACKTHORN. This events happened in 1827.
So clicking and connecting all this information, what if Eva and Annabel were sisters? They were Blackthorn, so they're family!
But remember, Tobias lost his mind because an spell A WARLOCK CASTED ON HIM. Then, we know the Clave killed Eva because of her husband's "treason". The Blackthorns always knew all this shit was wrong! They knew this situation was UNFAIR! And that could perfectly explain why they chose "Lex malla, lex nulla" as their family motto.
It was because of Warlock why their beloved Eva died, they knew it wasn't Tobias' fault! The only crime he ever commited was to love Eva so much for him to go after her, thinking she was in pain.
So, when the Blackthorns realized Annabel and Malcom were in a relationship (I suppose Annabelle's family didn't ever know she and Malcom were close), HER HIGHBORN KINSMEN CAME to stop what these two had! Because, why would the Blackthorns allow one of his daughters to date a Warlock, knowing it was a Warlock's fault the life of Eva and Tobias ended up in the way it had!
Bringing that knowledge to LoS, maybe if Annabel really wakes up,(idk if Annabel will come back as a zombie but let's think she does not) will Catarina Loss be appearing because she saved that steam of the Herondale line and help Annabel accep what happened back then in 1820 cause she will discover that Kit is the descendent of this giant lost line of Herondales. Annabelle is like a GREAT GREAT GREAAAAAAAAT AUNT fot Kit. And something is going to happened with these two. I don't know what, but this is real shit._.

I totally agree with the Clary/Jace theory. Something else I noticed (which could be insignificant but cmon it's Cassie Clare) was that in Tales of the Shadowhunter Academy, Alec asks Magnus about marriage at one point. Magnus said that it wouldn't/couldn't happen (probably because of the clave). Cassie makes it obvious though that they can be happy without marriage. I meant they have TWO KIDS. So anyway, to prove my point, Cassandra Clare is well aware that people can be in love without marriage and I definitely think she can use this plot point for Jace and Clary.

My theory: Anselm nightshade is Kit's father. I could be wrong, but from what we learn in Tales from the SA, Tobias heronadale didn't exactly die. He went mad in the woods, but Catarina I don't think announced him dead. What if he ran into a vampire, or a clan, and got Turned? Vampirism can apparently cure many illnesses and makes u look 'perfect' by ridding u of ur aesthetic imperfections, so why not of mental illness? Anselm is in fact Tobias Herondale, and therefore this links onto the theory that Anselm was once a shadowhunter, leading Kit to be his great great (etc.) grandson

yeeEes, so happy you made a theory vid for lord of shadows!! i'm so excited for lord of shadows!! also yes, i need the wicked powers to be about ty and kit. ty was one of my favourite characters in lady midnight (i actually hardcore love him because he and his way of being and like... not being able to fit in normal schooling systems and such, is a lot like my own little brother. i'm so glad cassie created a character like him)
also, with the lord of shadows, i think it could indeed be jules! though at first i though it might be a reference to james because we know that the dark artifices and the last hour are going to intertwine. we don't know how yet, but i think the fact that they're going to the london institute (home base of the last hour kiddos) and that the title of this book is lord of darkness says enough.
ugh so anxious and nervous for LOS and the fact that we have to wait two years for the last one doesn't help at all

i actually think ty is going to become a centurion and by the time he comes back the Wicked Powers will begin because i also do think he and kit are the main two in that series (also gives cassclare a perfect way to angst up their relationship by splitting them up before TWD.. which is PAIN but im too excited to mind) i've read somewhere that ppl think livvy and kit will be parabatai instead which isn't terrible..

Great video, Emma! These theories are amazing. :) Honestly, the fact that Cassie said she'll confirm who will be the leads in TWP after this book makes me think that one of the four characters who die in this book will be a character who could, without their death, very well be one of those leads. I really don't think Kit or Ty will die- I really do think they will be the main characters in TWP, but Livvy I am less sure about. I don't want it to happen at all, but I feel like she might die and that Ty may then start to wish that he had become parabatai with her because he will no longer have that option. And deeply regretting not becoming parabatai could serve as a great contrast to Emma and Julian's situation (and possibly lead Ty to focus on them and notice that something is wrong). Plus, another main Blackthorn could be Dru who was almost more present I feel in Lady Midnight than Livvy was. I feel like the two is meant to mislead us, and Dru won't be too young. Also, I feel like something big is going to happen and make us even more attached to Dru in this book, considering we are going to England where her aunt who is absolutely horrible to her about her body is. Part of TWP could be the fact that Ty and Dru both have extended family members who really don't understand or want to understand them or how they are hurting them and how Kit's dad who is gone didn't want him to understand himself.
Watching this now is so interesting and funny but also breaks my heart because of Livvy

I've read all the Shadowhunter books (aside from the Bane Chronicles) and even read the Mortal Instruments books a second time in preparation for City of Heavenly Fire, but I swear, I still miss so much information. I just can't keep all the details straight. Watching this video vaguely brought back snippets of Lady Midnight but I feel like I'd need to reread it to really get into Lord of Shadows. But the books are all so big! I don't know how Cassie keeps everything coherent when everything is intertwined and just weaved together so intricately. Kudos to her, and to all the readers who can keep track as well. I think I just get so into the fast paced feel of the books that I don't fully retain everything I read. It's almost like the first read through is similar to just skimming the book even though I read all of it. I just wish I could follow it better and remember all the details.
Imagine Cassie shuts down this Emma and Mark theory in the first 50 pages. We would all be so disappointed. I totally agree with your theories. You shocked me when you said that 4 named Characters are going to die in Lord of Shadows because unlike in TMI when Cassie killed six characters that weren't really that popular or loved where as in Lady Midnight we were not introduced to anyone like that(I don't know if that made sense but the point is I am scared for my characters)

And my final comment: A Long Conversation. I really don't understand the shippers who think that Clary doesn't love Jace any longer; her love for him is right there on the page! They are not going to break up, Clary just doesn't want to get married to him. Yes, we don't know the reason because Jace is the "nuclear bomb of boyfriends" and who wouldn't want to marry him but what if Clary just thinks that they are too young to get married? She will stay with Jace forever, regardless of marriage runes or a marriage certificate. They are *it* for each other. Or maybe Clary saw how unhappy her parents' marriage was and she's a bit afraid? Marriage is a big step for a lot of people. We just don't know why she is going to turn Jace down but it certainly won't be the end of the world. Sure, Jace won't be happy - who wouldn't be?? - but this man loves Clary so much, he's loved her for so long, he would never break up with her just because Clary said no to his proposal and she also wouldn't break up with him (Sorry, having a lot of Clace feels because I'm rereading CoB right now and I just finished the greenhouse scene and the short story from Jace's PoV)

So many good theories here! I can't really decide where I am in the camp of theories, it's been too long since I've read the later books of TMI and honestly, Lady Midnight wasn't my favorite (shocker, I know). I'm re-reading them all in preparation for LoS, I've been through TID and I'm on book 4 of TMI right now so, maybe once I've finished those I'll have some theories of my own. =)
These theories were SO fantastic, I will absolutely be thinking of them when I read Lord of Shadows. I absolutely agree with you about Kit and Ty, and I think that would be the coolest Shadowhunter Chronicles series yet! Ugh! That situation with Julien, Emma, and Mark is my least favorite plot point. I was yelling at the book for so long, EMMA, TELL HIM THE TRUTH!!!! I have no idea whatsoever what's going to happen to Annabelle, though. None!

A lot of people were confused as to how the Blackthorn blood could have been shed if nobody died so I'm thinking because Cassandra Clare didn't specify if someone really had to die, maybe only a little Blackthorn blood had to be shed- obviously intended by Malcolm. In Lady Midnight, Malcolm sent a note to Julian and when Julian read it out loud the room exploded. In that moment Ty hurt his leg because a bit of glass went in it and it was bleeding. What if that was the Blackthorn blood that had to be shed? It was because of Malcolm that Ty injured his leg and maybe nobody had to actually die. Just a theory- what do you guys think???
