  • I don't teach students the Blues so they can become blues musicians and I don't teach classical or jazz for that reason either...why should METAL be any different?! Join me for a look at some of the many reasons I use metal for advancing students to gain a proficiency on our beloved bass guitars regarding speed, accuracy and most importantly ATTITUDE!

It's not always flashy, but it's all things BASS and that is a life long journey! After teaching and gigging for over 25 years, I dared to take a different path to bass education and hold group lessons twice a week which includes a monthly syllabus with an end of month test AND weekly evaluations so you KNOW where you are in your progress. After Holding down the low end for almost every single style you can possibly look up in a music dictionary...I'm ready to help YOU find your true bassist within.

Thank you very much! It’s an important point and most who dare the path benefit greatly from it.

As a non-bass-player and someone new to this channel... wow! You're playing a five string bass! I didn't even know that was a thing. 😀

The Fifth String is a lower one in this case and with great power comes great responsibility! I either use it to give a powerful variation on the octave or in some songs, don’t use it at all! Thanks for hanging out and joining the conversation!

Take note, there's no pick in this mans hand.
This is because he is a Bassist, and not some godless heathen swine.
Pick on Bass is a sin punnishable by death. As much as i believe you should be free to play, however you want to play music.... the only exception is pick on Bass.
    Nice video mate 👍
I play slap funk, but I love me some metal and you're spot on.

This is quite a comment my friend thank you. Pick sure is its own thing but there are ways to get it close. There are a few amazing pick players out there though! I personally like smacking the with my hand!

@@BassPlayerUniversity haha yeah I mostly say that in jest 😉 there's no wrong way to play music at the end of the day.... except pick on Bass. 😜
