I used to play it on my 4gb ram i3 5th gen laptop with integrated graphics & the completed the game which ran at 20-25 fps! Even had mods & stuff running on it! Fast forward a couple yrs now I play it with ray tracing on ps5… but those memories will never get old!

Whats most important is cpu and gpu, i have i5 8th gen and 1050ti and i always could run gta v smoothly, with most settings at high and some at medium. Havent played gta v after 16 gb ram upgrade though
8gb should be minimum on any pc but personally i think 16gb ram should be minimum on all ddr4 / ddr5 builds today and i think its stupid that most companies still try and make their products or games compatable with only 4gb of ram because realistically who acctually has under 8gb of ram. almost nobody because in like 99% of cases the industry minimum standard is 8gb of ram
@@islamimanli5155 yes 4gb will work on any computer however to get a much smoother experience getting 8gb over 4gb will show a big performance increase and with 8gb you can smoothly run most applications where as only having 4gb means some usefull apps may not work or might work very poorly. 8gb is becoming the norm as most sensibly priced and modern systems have 8gb of ram as the base model but 4gb systems are still sold but modern new devices with 4gb of ram is typically found in low-end systems which meet the minimum requirements to run the operating system in the first place

Linux even with Wine or Proton will still use less RAM than Windows with all its bloat. Remember this game was originally released on ps3 which had 256mbytes of ram. You have more ram in your watch these days.

more so your CPU and integrated GPU that are causing bad performance, as seen in this video 6gb is enough for GTA5. Your CPU is a 10 year old low end 2 core laptop processor, with really bad speeds, I mean the bare minimum I would recommend is like 4GHZ yours is 1.4GHZ. Also 2 cores is not enough for gaming even GTA5. Integrated GPU's are also usually pretty bad, so yeah I'm suprised it even booted.

Even though 16gigs of ram is recommended. For gta 5 if you have 8gb ram then that's the best you can go the next real deal is gpu which if has 1 gb vram then it will run on low to mid settings and if higher then can run at better settings. Also 10 gb and 12 gb are only viable if you are planning to use mods however 8gb is still enough for a lot of mods
Well it is not just the rams that run the game, the guy in the video has a good pc apart from the rams, wich helps run the game, if the pc parts were bad and he tried running it on 8 gb ram it wouldn't run at all.
I have 4gb ram with integrated i3 graphics, but I work around it in an interesting way, IGPU's like hd 4000 usually takes 128-280mb ram, windows takes up 200mb ram, gra 5 actually needs 3.8gb ram to run smoothly l, so I end windows explorer and only have essentials running to play gta 5, kinda like what the xbox 360 did, so now, I play 720p low on this setup

Only very high end devices have the graphical power to run GTA V "decently", RAM doesn't give you better performance once you have the right amount, so a mid end cellphone with 64GB of RAM wouldn't be able to run GTA V anyways
Strange I ran this game on a 660ti when it first came out which was a 2GB Card. Of course I had to turn a lot of settings down to get a reasonable Frame rate. But nothing like the extreme you did. But that was back when the game came out on PC so things could have changed since then. I know Rockstar seems to have gotten lazier.
for anyone in the same situation, i play gta v in a notebook with a Ryzen 5 3405u and a Vega 8 (no graphic card). at first i was playing gta with 8gb of ram cause that was the original amount of ram the notebook had. and because of the poor amount of vram a vega 8 has (2gb) i was able to play in low-mid graphic playable. i recently updated my ram to 16gb and in the same configuration the fps rate blew up to solids 60fps. so if u were wondering if u could play GTA V with this kind of specs, or if the ram is a big difference, that's my experience, wish it helps.

Im using 8 gb ram and it got high peak workload..almost 100% ..then changed to 24 gb and i realized the game using about 10 and 11 gb ram..

Your CPU is a 10 year old low end 2 core laptop processor, with really bad speeds, I mean the bare minimum I would recommend is like 4GHZ yours is 1.4GHZ. Also 2 cores is not enough for gaming even GTA5. Integrated GPU's are also usually pretty bad, so yeah I'm suprised it even booted.
i have 32 gb of ddr4 and because i built this pc for gta i was afraid that it would not run good on 16gb. I always put lots of ram in my pcs.

For gta 5 if you have 8gb ram then that's the best you can go the next real deal is gpu which if has 1 gb vram then it will run on low to mid settings and if higher then can run at better settings. Also 10 gb and 12 gb are only viable if you are planning to use mods however 8gb is still enough for a lot of mods
Well it is not just the rams that run the game, the guy in the video has a good pc apart from the rams, wich helps run the game, if the pc parts were bad and he tried running it on 8 gb ram it wouldn't run at all.
I have 4gb ram with integrated i3 graphics, but I work around it in an interesting way, IGPU's like hd 4000 usually takes 128-280mb ram, windows takes up 200mb ram, gra 5 actually needs 3.8gb ram to run smoothly l, so I end windows explorer and only have essentials running to play gta 5, kinda like what the xbox 360 did, so now, I play 720p low on this setup

@sogachew2368 By the way, I finally got an 8gb ram Gtx 1060 setup, but, apart from that, all you have to do is, in task manager, just click [File] then [run new task] and type in [explorer]

1. Press alt Ctrl delete
2. Press on task manager
3. Run there explorer.exe
4. Everything is back to normal and you don't have completely black screen with only mouse, but rather have everything back

2GIG is minimum for a 64bit OS that you need to play 64-bit game, after the OS boots, there not much RAM left to run any game.

Only very high end devices have the graphical power to run GTA V "decently", RAM doesn't give you better performance once you have the right amount, so a mid end cellphone with 64GB of RAM wouldn't be able to run GTA V anyways

Strange I ran this game on a 660ti when it first came out which was a 2GB Card. Of course I had to turn a lot of settings down to get a reasonable Frame rate. But nothing like the extreme you did. But that was back when the game came out on PC so things could have changed since then. I know Rockstar seems to have gotten lazier.

for anyone in the same situation, i play gta v in a notebook with a Ryzen 5 3405u and a Vega 8 (no graphic card). at first i was playing gta with 8gb of ram cause that was the original amount of ram the notebook had. and because of the poor amount of vram a vega 8 has (2gb) i was able to play in low-mid graphic playable. i recently updated my ram to 16gb and in the same configuration the fps rate blew up to solids 60fps. so if u were wondering if u could play GTA V with this kind of specs, or if the ram is a big difference, that's my experience, wish it helps.
