I finally pulled the trigger on buying a pair of 2020 Malavitas after riding the same Cartel bindings for 13 years. I loved those bindings and they're still good (just a little worn lol) so I'm tossing them on my other board for powder days. I've been using the Cartels on my GNU Gateway with an altered, far less superior baseplate for a few years now. I'm pumped to finally have a new setup. How do you think these are gonna feel on the GNU with ThirtyTwo Lashed boots? The board flex is a 5.5. I read in a review that that flex falls within the sweet spot for the Malavitas. Also you'll catch me riding anywhere from trails to the park to in the trees. What are your thoughts? Thank you!
Malavitas are actually a super good bindings for that guy who wants an all mountain ride but still plays in the park a lot. You'll be pumped to get out and ride those things!
Hey guys! Love your videos! Hoping for a recommendation. I've got the Burton Process flat-top board and trying to decide boots and bindings. For Bindings: Malavita vs Mission. For Boots: Moto Boa vs Ruler Boa. I'm a beginner-intermediate, probably considered an All-mountain, looking for easy smooth turns and easy carving. Looking for a set up that I can grow into! Thanks for all the help
I would go for the Malavita (bit.ly/2Rvhoyu) over the Mission for sure. They are both great, but the Malavita will be more versatile. For boots I recommend the Ruler BOA (bit.ly/2uktwtk) as they are a mid-range flex and should match up with the Malavita's very nicely.
I'm trying to decide between the malavita, salomon trigger, and union strata. I have a yes Basic board and ride all mountain/freestyle. Which one would you say is the most versatile and comfortable? Curious to see what you would recommend?
Lots of good choices here. Maybe do the Trigger if you want a little easier smoother ride. Do the Malavita or Strata for a little quicker aggressive feel.
Thanks for the video! Which of these would you pair with the burton custom Flying V board 154? And could you recommend me a good burton boot as well please? Im a beginner but getting the hang of it pretty quick🤙🏼 thanks!
Honestly any of them would be good. I always run EST bindings on Burton boards myself. They flex better with the board and give you a better feel for the board. As for boots the Photon is always a good go-to for that kind of setup. Matches up pretty well performance wise.
I like how is he talking about the stitched straps, the Burton guys is "hmm, yeah" Because all the Burton bindings I had, had this issue, I am pretty sure that the "leather" strap will be the same...
@@thehouse Oh yeah, I hated when my straps started to fall apart after a month of riding... But it's good to see that Burton is actually fixing these issues, same as they dropped the DieCut base.
I’m a beginner/ intermediate. I’m just trying to cruise the park. Nothing crazy.. yet. Maybe travel out of state to some better powdered locations at parks as well. (From CA) I’m torn between the cartel est and the malvita est. can’t decide.. help ? Idk if weight is a factor i am 215 lbs. I just picked up the new burton custom Flying V (rocker hybrid twin) What wil serve me better for both CA thin layer ice snow terrain lol vs Utah powdered snow.
Yeah both bindings are good and have similar response, the biggest thing is the upgrades in the baseplate, highback, and straps on the Malavita. Totally worth the extra chedda in my opinion. Bindings usually outlast the board so its a good investment
@@thehouse OMG .. I should have read this comment before buying the new boots... and YES THEY DO interfere with the BOA ... with Burton ION anyways.. if have a forward lean :(
Missed out on mentioning the double take straps. A great upgrade from the cartels.
The best reason to get the Malavitas over the Cartels.
Just got these, what's the double take for the straps? Changing them over to the next binding?

Am I able to purchase the newer malavita toe strap and use it on an older model (2017's) ?
SyzygyTheGod yup just call Burton they will provide it to you b
Yep!

Yeah, we definitely prefer the molded straps!

@@thehouse cool.. more cheddar it is. thank you.
How do these compare to the union force? I’m looking for a softer park binding to go on a gnu headspace
Malavita is a great option to be honest. They are geared toward someone who rides park a lot but still wants all mountain performance
If I got a Large sized binding and I have a 12.5 shoe size do you think it'll fit?
Larges will fit 12.5 boots.
@@thehouse i have size 11 salomon boots is large good for this too?
Super down to try me some winged Vitas but...do the wings interfere with the boa?
Oh that is a good question. I'll check that out. I would like to say they shouldn't interfere with a side BOA.
@@thehouse ?

What size for Burton Photon boa men's size 10? Medium or large binding? Thank you
Go with the large just in case.
I probably own about 10 pairs of malavita. Malavita fo eva!
yew!
I've got one pair probably 8 or 9 years old. Still going strong. Do they still make them with The Hinge?
@@homealone5087i think so on the est version
Missed the leather ! :p
They hadn't arrived!
woah what just happened
A review of the Burton Malavita's! Great bindings.
