  • ICON Derelicts - the builders of vintage cars with modern components - had this cool 1950 Convertible Buick at SEMA 2015.
    Visit Eastwood: www.eastwood.com
A completely new chassis from Art Morrison Enterprises sits under the '50. The 18" billet wheels with stainless steel hubs were built to look like original, aged stock wheels, but with the advantage of new Wilwood disc brakes. A Chevy LS7 moves it down the road, but the custom valve covers and modified Olds 442 air cleaner gives it a vintage appearance to match the exterior of the vehicle.
The original steering wheel sits on an ididit column. Like other components, the gauges have stock faces but modern electronics.
Eastwood has everything you need to do the job right when you're restoring your car truck or motorcycle - welders, plasma cutters, paint and paint guns, soda and abrasive blasters, hand tools, metal fab tools, rust solutions, powder coating supplies, specialty tools and more. Since 1978.

This car is presently for sale on ebay for a staggering $350,000! it's been listed several times with the seller lowering the price from originally $375,000. I wish them good luck. You can buy a mint original 50 Roadmaster convertible for around $50,000.

This one is artwork as well and one of a kind.
But I do wonder why they replace the original chassis and running gear. Kind of becomes just a facade of an original car with a new car underneath.
I do like the look of these Derelicts though.

@@williamp5166 Apparently very few people are interested in this sort of thing and certainly not for that kind of money.

This is a lot more interesting than that Ford cabover van that has too many engines. Less is more.

The glory of old Buicks is the Nailhead straight 8 engine. If I want a new LS engine, I'll go to a Chevy dealer and buy a new Chevy.

It’s cool but the chrome is too clean compared to the rest of the car it either needs to be fully rusty or fully clean

THIS IS NOT WHAT YOU DO WITH A 1950 HIGH END BUICK ROADMASTER CONV. THIS NEEDS TO BE PRESERVED NOT MADE FUN OF. YOU DO THAT TO AN ALREADY HALF GONE FORD CHEVY ,A ROADSTER FROM THE 30'S THIS ROADMASTER WAS A STATUS SYMBOL IN 1950 AND THATS RESPECT WHEN YOU BRING HER BACK TO ORIGINAL.SHAME ON THIS DISRESPECTED UGLY RENDITION OF A CAR.
