I bought a used one just like this one when I was dating my soon to be wife in 1963, cost was $40.00 it was a 3 speed colum shift, starter was in the gas pedal, heater under the drivers seat, loved it....should of kept it...but at the time I did not have the means to store it.
My cousin owned one back in 1980's he was the 2nd owner of the original owner you don't even want to know what he paid for it. His wasn't a fast back though it was burgundy all the chrome in it my cousin was only 22 years old when he bought it the old man practaly gave it away because it was just sitting in his garage not being driven. I guess the old man rather have some young guy enjoy it. My cousin end up selling it to because he didn't have the means to store it away either and the car needed to be garage kept because it was way to nice to be leaving out in the winter. Out of all the classic car's I grew up around from mine family and friends owning the 1950 Buick is right up there with the 51 and 56 Mercury and Cadillac's
I have a 49 also, and I am thinking about street rodding it ,but my friends tell me no. I have a 454 and a 700R ready for it , I love your car! I would like to talk to you.
About to put a 401 Nailhead in my '50 Special. Anyone know if I'll need to clip the front end? Hoping i have room, but would like to know before I get all the way in to it
What 4 link system did you use ,,, my car is identical to yours and I'm wanting to start to work on it,,, also what year nova subframe ,,,thanks for any help ,,, 👍
my buddy just found one of these beauties rusted and shot up in the Mojave dessert he posted pics on Facebook and to my surprise it still had the grill and it also had the window trim and i believe the back emblem , what would those be worth ?
Kudos to you Dude for putting a decent motor in that old Sweetheart, I get sooooo Goddamn tired of Chevy shit in everything. Ya done good son. By the by I owned a couple Cadillac's in my day. Thanks from Canada.
Fascinating car, but GOOD GOD, the music in this video is annoying. It's eight times as loud as the man explaining the car, so every time he pauses and the music cranks up, I've got to turn down the volume. But then later I've got to turn it up again when it cranks down and he starts talking. And it's not even good music.
Soundtrack not necessary, but this is the way to do a Buick. There's another guy doing this stuff, but IMHO he's overboard with CA$H Putting $110k is zero sense, does not need a hand built chassis and 700hp vette engine. Maybe some of you youngsters can dream, but there were plenty of these cars on the road and in my high school lot in 68.My dad had a 48 Roadmaster,a freight train on rubber.
molson12oz You must be talking about Johnathan Ward's Icon Derelict series. Yeah, his are expensive and a tad insane, but at least he admits it up front.
I actually got to see this car in person a year ago, sweet car, and a true enthusiast
Timeless work of art!
The paint (PATINA) on this car is perfect!!!
Great design! The patina with the fresh chrome is a great contrast, and the stance is spot on. That is a beautiful ride.
J. Sin that ain’t chrome. That is stainless steel!
Totally beautiful car, man.
Spectacular I love it!
This reminds my of an ICON Derelict build. Cool car.
Just a beauty.
The absolute manifestation of COOL…😎

The straight 8 was locked up? Too bad, you could have unlocked it easy with a can of Deep Creep and some WD-40 in the cylinders.

It wasn't called "fastback" then---it was called "torpedo back"!

Buick called it a Sedanette, but you can call whatever you want 😅
That’s an expensive proposition!
Nope. Don't touch it. It is perfect just the way it is. Very nice derelict.
The straight eight would have been better
