One Beautiful Road Master. If I bought a Beauty like this I would be speechless with a grin from ear to ear. I would move my bed to the garage so I can admire the car as I fall asleep, then again in the morning 👍👍
Buicks from the fifties always hold a special place in my heart......... this example is pure perfection......... Dennis never disappoints with anything from his wonderful collection!😉
I’m drooling. If I could have a Roadmaster or any muscle car, I’d take the Buick any day, any time. That waterfall grill is so gorgeous!!! If a car like this was referred to as a boat by some, I’ll just call it a dream boat.

Pure Harley Earl creation. He liked sensuous flowing/waterfall lines, and, of course, a lot of chrome. These cars were works of art. Harley could've signed them on the dash like a painting. The '49 through '54 cars had such a solid look and feel of quality down to the smallest detail.
Just wonderful, thank you! Brought back memories of my dad's '52 Special, hardtop convertible. It was the first car I remember. For him it was all about that smooth ride. I can recall him proudly saying, "This is not just a car...this is an automobile."

What a splendid Buick! I love this Era of Buicks, there amazing cars and this has to be cleanest one I've ever seen. That engine looks as clean as an engine in brand new car, and I love the color of the engine, many modern cars unless there high end don't have colorful engine like that and all the detail on this is incredible, though unnecessary, it makes the car more beautiful and what makes cars from this era so amazing. I like the way hood opens, as far as I know, that's only a Buick thing, I've never seen any other car from that time period with that feature, its makes Buick stick out. Great video Lou!
I certainly cannot say any more than what’s already been said. I will say however, that this car exudes Style from every side and angle! Thanks Lou for a beautiful example of American glamour!
HI Beast 1624, Happy to read you appreciate you RARELY see black paint look this good. I have a black 2010 and the paint does not look this good. My pleasure sharing with you and you're welcome, Lou
My first car back in 56 was a 49 Roadmaster sedanette. Bought it from my uncle for $250 dollars.Excellent condition inside & out. It was black lacquer . I used Cadillac blue coral paste wax on it every month. You talk about deep shine❤ The black paint on new cars nowadays is soft. You don’t get that deep shine .
Wow,my dad owned a 1949 and 1951 buick. Im 70 now and ive dreamed for years of owning one of those beauties. I remember all the chrome on the dash and a knob to turn the car antenna down.😀
An amazing car, Lou! Wow! Thanks for sharing this beautiful adventure, with one of the most amazing cars I’ve ever seen! My 70-year-old brother recalls these cars like yesterday, remembering seeing them as a child, all around the neighborhood. Beautiful is an understatement: incredible, immaculate, not of this world. And as you said in the video, you float down the road, and the ventilation system, something we’ve forgotten, and the cars didn’t need air-conditioning. Thanks for sharing this beautiful presentation, my nearly 99-year-old mother enjoyed it as well, she was a mere 28 when this car was new. We love what you bring us, with every presentation, Lou, and look forward to the next one.

Love the '49-'52 Roadmasters, but the '50 with its waterfall grille is the ultimate road machine. What a beautiful work of art. Thanks for posting Lou - another incredible find.
Had a 50 Buick Special sedan in college. Girls loved the back seat and the radio kept us warm in the winter. American flag on the hood ornament and Christmas lights during the Holidays. Set my expectations for all future cars.

What a handsome car!! In my youth I had a 51 yellow Buick Special convertable with red leather interior. I loved that car, even though it was glacial. You put your foot on the accellerator and heard a roar, but actually moving with Dynaflow only occurred slowly after a lag. Also the steering wheel in those pre power steering days had to be huge to give you the leverage you needed to turn it, and it was.

That vehicle is a gem Lou. Dennis really takes superb care of her. Interestingly enough, I ran into someone yesterday in Long Island that was driving a 1950 Buick Special Deluxe Sedan that he had bought about a year ago from someone in upstate NY. We had a nice conversation about his vehicle and I suggested he look you up on UA-cam. Thanks again for making this kind of material available to us viewers. Please give Dennis my best.

When I first saw the picture of this car I knew it had to be Dennis's car and it was a Buick and that is what I thought and I was right it was his. Just a big unit this car is and so luxurious it is too. That old straight eight was a power house back in the day. I could see that car would be a floater for sure and Buick's were known to be a soft floaty ride. I bet that ride along was really fun. Such a car with those kind of miles and it looks brand new all the way around. Dennis sure has quite a unit here my my. Thanks for sharing Lou!
Hi Steve, Happy to share the "Floater" with you :-) Thank you for sharing the details you enjoy. My pleasure sharing this car with you, and you're welcome, Lou
Dear Lou, I really enjoyed your footage. You fire up the childlike spirit within me. This car is a beautiful toy for adults. I write to you from Brazil.
....Wowzers, Lou..... ...gotta love that "GRRRRR ille" up front...and 48 K SoCal miles (!!!???).... ... Dennis must have paid informants to get his mitts on these beauties...he so kind and a font of Buick knowledge...and is justifiably proud of his awesome collection... ...another amazing Buick...and another great episode my "car guy" friend...
This Buick Roadmaster convertible is a sight to behold! Equipped with it's Fireball inline 8 cylinder engine with the Dynaflow automatic transmission, this car is too cool!
That is spectacular!! I had no idea that the WONDER-BAR radio's were around that early. The Dynaflow was one speed attached to a torque converter. Mash down on the gas and it would wind up to speed in it's own sweet time.
My Grandfather bought these Roadmasters every 2 years new since 1948 through the last one of the 50s. All Sedans and loaded. His 1950 was black, too! Beautiful cars. When America was great and made good cars. I love that straight V8!
This is one of those love it/hate it car styles with that "bucktooth" grille. I personally love that front end making it one of my favorite Buicks. Also unique is the venti-ports in the hood not in the fenders as other Buicks. I still keep my eye out for a good 50 Buick and would be proud to own any model or body style with that grille. Dennis' car is the best available of that car. I really appreciate people taking the time and money to preserve these cars as they came from the factory. People who do not remember these cars new have no idea how nice they were new when so many were seen years later in run down, not running and rusty condition. Lou, outside of the variety you bring, you show fans what these cars were like new to show how unique and high quality these cars are. Thanks Dennis and Lou for this story.
Hi Allen, Happy to read this one is a favorite Buick of yours :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you, and you're welcome. Lou P.S. This one is for sale @ $82,500.00 and if you're interested you can e-mail me at trupowr@yahoo.com
Thanks so much Lou! For “honking” the horn on that 1950 Buick Special Deluxe Convertible, it reminds me of a trains sounding off coming down the tracks. Great interview & such details explained. 👍😎⭐️🔥🏆🥇✌️🍀
My grandparents owned a 1950 Buick Super. It was an elegant car. The Dynaflow transmission was indeed smooth--no shifting of gears. It was also a gutless wonder when it came to acceleration--0 to 60 in about 30 seconds. The clearance between the seat and bottom of the steering wheel made it possible for me to sit in my grandfather's lap and learn the sensation of a steering wheel. And grandmother managed to get a ticket for doing 85 mph on highway 97 through Bend, Oregon. The car was totaled in 1959, clobbered by a drunk driver. Had seat belts been available, they would have walked away with a few scratches. The replacement car, a super sharp 1957 Buick Super, had seat belts--and a passing gear which grandmother used liberally. And she never got a ticket in that car--she could outrun CHP with very little effort.
My grandmother had a 1953 Oldsmobile convertible, two tone green. I remember she always Oldsmobile, before that she had Packard. At 60 years old drive from New York to call California, more then two times by herself. Growing up my parents had a 1956 red and white Oldsmobile convertible. I would never buy a new car. This old cars are the best. Even my 1973 Volvo station wagon. I have had 3 Volvos.

The 1988 film “Rain Man” featured a 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible. Pretty amazing that the restorers were able to get new engine “decals.” Thanks for sharing Lou!
This car is full of surprises...I expect a flat head 8; didn't know a OHV 8 exist. Hood opening mech so cool. Jewel-like ornaments...Dynaflow... is that a Hydramatic relative? They knew what they were doing back then. Nice work, Lou
Hi Steve, Happy to read you the details you enjoy. I'd believe if it's on this car, that was how it is in 1950. Appreciate the encouragement on the "Nice work" :-) Lou
Those Roadmasters were style and class from bumper to bumper, it's no wonder that my mom wouldn't drive anything else. And we know how I feel about drop tops. My only complaint is he was afraid of wrinkling the top, unless it's new and still stretching PUT IT DOWN... Another great presentation of course and a car that's making me eat my heart out... Thanks Lou 👍👍
Hi Pat, Happy to read you enjoy this stylish and classy car. I like putting the top down too, however I'm ok with Dennis keeping the top up as long as he shares they with us :-) My pleasure sharing this car with you, and you're welcome, Lou
A combination of elegance and sportiness. I don’t know how Dennis can resist lowering the convertible top. I had forgotten the straight 8’s… pure smoothness. BTW, only one 10 sec. ad from Apple at the end of the video. Cheers, John
Hi John, I like the top down to, however this car is to good not to share, so if he likes the top up, I'm ok with that too :-) Thanks for watching the ad, Cheers, Lou
That's a great car! What a find!!Love the grills on the old Buicks. The trunk goodies are always fun to see. You not only could work on the cars back then, but you could sit in the engine compartment and do the work. Spacious
Another great video Lou. My grandpa had a Buick Roadmaster not sure if it was a 50 or 51 but in the early 1961 he drove it from Paris, Texas to San Francisco California for a job out there. 1,768 miles one way according to Google and he didn't have any problems with it.
Beautiful car! My parents had a blue 1950 Buick Special Sedanette fast back. Unlike the Roadmasters, the Specials had a front windshield center divider.

Hi Lou, another wonderful video of this magnificent classic Buick Roadmaster. What a beauty. Being from Australia but having lived in the US in the 80's and having driven on many of those American country roads I therefore especially enjoy when you go on these rides through the magnificent countryside passing solitary farms on green pastures etc. And growing up in Australia I was not aware of all of these amazing classic American cars until watching your channel and others. But I did find a magnificent rendition of a 1950 Buick Roadmaster put out by Jonathon Ward's UA-cam channel. Even Jay Leno does a show on that car showing what modern engineering can do to such a classic car. The sound of the engine is that of a roaring lion!
Beautiful 'Floater'. :) That straight eight is so smooth. Sounds like she runs great. The paint is so shiny and no swirrels. Amazing. Thank you for sharing this one with us Lou. Take care.

Wow - This is certainly one of the very best 1950 Buicks that I've ever seen. If I owned this car,I would be sure to put a right side rear view mirror on the right side door,as it's very difficult to see that side through the tiny glass rear window. These were very smooth running, soft riding, and well made cars. However, the Dynaflow transmission, although very smooth, provided very slow acceleration until you reached about 18-20 mph. They also caused the car to use lots of gasoline.Regardless,it's a fantastic car - I would love to see it up close....

Roadmaster: When men were men and cars ruled the road ;)
NICE :-)
And the average man died at the age of 70😳
@@garrisonnichols7372 More like 60's, I think.
@@garrisonnichols7372
Lol, men back then, particularly American men, were far above average.
Yep....
That is a beautiful car my grand father had a 1950 Buick road master. They are wonderful and it is always great to see one 👍
Hi William, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grand Fathers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Dear Lou, I really enjoyed your footage. You fire up the childlike spirit within me. This car is a beautiful toy for adults. I write to you from Brazil.
Dear Caju10jose, Happy to read this fires up the childlike spirit in you :-) I believe cars keep us young, Lou
....Wowzers, Lou.....
...gotta love that "GRRRRR ille" up front...and 48 K SoCal miles (!!!???)....
... Dennis must have paid informants to get his mitts on these beauties...he so kind and a font of Buick knowledge...and is justifiably proud of his awesome collection...
...another amazing Buick...and another great episode my "car guy" friend...
Hi G Clark Bloomfield, Happy to receive a "Wowzers" from you :-) My pleasure sharing with you, Lou
This Buick Roadmaster convertible is a sight to behold! Equipped with it's Fireball inline 8 cylinder engine with the Dynaflow automatic transmission, this car is too cool!
Hi Michael, Happy to read you enjoy the looks of this "too cool" car :-) Lou
Thanks for the trip down memory lane, This car and I are the same age.
Hi Chris, Happy to read this car brings back memories :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
That is spectacular!! I had no idea that the WONDER-BAR radio's were around that early. The Dynaflow was one speed attached to a torque converter. Mash down on the gas and it would wind up to speed in it's own sweet time.
Hi JWelchon, Happy to read "That is spectacular!!" :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing your knowledge, Lou
This car is such a beautiful time capsule it looks like it just off the assembly line
Agreed.
I actually found some great dealer magazines from Buick that were local to me from the late 40s to early 50s, Lou. Great stuff!
Happy to read you found some great dealer magazines Jon S. :-)
My Grandfather bought these Roadmasters every 2 years new since 1948 through the last one of the 50s. All Sedans and loaded. His 1950 was black, too! Beautiful cars. When America was great and made good cars. I love that straight V8!
Hi Edward, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandfathers car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
Each each tooth on the grill is totally different. Everyone had a different. Part number
Yes sir. The 1950 Buick was the only production Buick with the hood ventiports.
@@Greg-xv9qj
That’s interesting . I never knew that. Was that the only year for individual grill part numbers?
I had a 49. I don’t think it did?
Thanks so much Lou! For “honking” the horn on that 1950 Buick Special Deluxe Convertible, it reminds me of a trains sounding off coming down the tracks. Great interview & such details explained. 👍😎⭐️🔥🏆🥇✌️🍀
You're welcome Gary :-)
Hi Keith, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandparents car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou
That is a nice car That grill stands out. That for showing these beautiful cars
Happy to read you enjoy this car :-) My pleasure sharing with you, and you're welcome.

Has to be one of the nicest I have ever seen.Just the grille alone is a work of art !!! Stunning 😍
High praise :-)
The chrome waterfall grille. When I was a kid in the 1950s, we called it "chrome spaghetti".
Chrome Spaghetti....NICE !
The 1988 film “Rain Man” featured a 1949 Buick Roadmaster convertible. Pretty amazing that the restorers were able to get new engine “decals.” Thanks for sharing Lou!
Hi Fred, Thank you for sharing that piece of movie trivia. My pleasure sharing this one with you, and you're welcome, Lou
Just about anything car wise is available on the internet nowadays.
This car is full of surprises...I expect
a flat head 8; didn't know a OHV 8 exist.
Cars had such personality back then.
You're right :-)
Those Roadmasters were style and class from bumper to bumper, it's no wonder that my mom wouldn't drive anything else.
@@loucostabile: Maybe he’s trying to keep the resale value up as high as possible?

That's a great car! What a find!!Love the grills on the old Buicks. The trunk goodies are always fun to see. You not only could work on the cars back then, but you could sit in the engine compartment and do the work. Spacious
Hi Debbie, High praise on this "great car" :-) Thank you for viewing & sharing, Lou
Now thats a grill! The has got to be the cleanest 1950 Buick in the country.
High praise :-)
Buick in 1950s: our engines are so well built, no one will ever have to work on both sides of it at the same time. Mechanical engineering geniuses!
Hi Ryan_Greenwalt, High praise for the Buick Engineers, Lou
Hard to beat that Fireball straight 8 for durability and easily maintained.
this is a gem
HI Kenneth, Happy to read you enjoy this "gem" :-) Lou
Another great video Lou. My grandpa had a Buick Roadmaster not sure if it was a 50 or 51 but in the early 1961 he drove it from Paris, Texas to San Francisco California for a job out there. 1,768 miles one way according to Google and he didn't have any problems with it.
Hi PlymouthDuster225, Happy to read this car brings back memories of your Grandpa's car :-) Thank you for viewing and sharing, Lou

Wow! Truly an object of perfection! Both the stunning Buick and the great video!! Thanks Lou and Dennis!
High praise Jon :-) My pleasure sharing with you, and you're welcome. Lou
Beautiful car! My parents had a blue 1950 Buick Special Sedanette fast back. Unlike the Roadmasters, the Specials had a front windshield center divider.

Wonderful restoration on a classic! Everything's right; chrome, black paint, classy trim and emblems, the whole nine yards. Nicely done fellas.
Hi Bruce H., "Everything's right" High praise :-) Lou
That lovely car personifies the old Buick motto ,: When Better Automobiles Are Built , BUICK Will Build Them ..' Maybe change that to the past tense now ... ?
Hi Derrick Rees, Back in 1950, I can see that motto working, and sadly you're right, it's the past tense now, Lou
And that whole bumper and grill comes off as a unit
Hi John, Thank you for sharing your knowledge, Lou
1942, 1946, 1947-1948 and 1950 are my favourite. Great Design. 🤓🧐

Hi Train Lord, Happy to read you enjoy the video with me. Thank you for taking the time to share the details you enjoy, like the rides. Lou
Beautiful 'Floater'. :) That straight eight is so smooth. Sounds like she runs great. The paint is so shiny and no swirrels. Amazing. Thank you for sharing this one with us Lou. Take care.

Anyone remember Buick"s slogan; Wouldn't you really rather have a Buick?
Yeah...... I think I would....💕 You're killing me Lou. 😉
Hi George B, I aim to please :-) Lou
Before that, when better automobiles are built Buick will build them.
@@danielulz1640
You know, I think I vaguely remember that. I knew there was a slogan before the one I mentioned. Was that early 60s? Wow, well that kinda dates us huh Dan?

When better automobiles are built...dates back nearly to the Buick car's inception and was used through at least the 1950's.

GREETINGS. From Venezuela, . . . .
Hi Alejandro, My pleasure sharing this Buick with you :-) You're welcome, and glad you're along for the ride, Lou
