The portholes also make it easy to grasp the hood for opening.
50 Buick. The only Buick with the portholes in the hood.
Best looking grill in automotive history
I read that this 50 grill was designed so it wouldn't catch onto the bumper of another car parking them. It was all parallel parking in those days . Nice Buick
i just got a 48 pontiac torpedo. big money and a 1450 mile trip to obtain it. big money for me anyway. body style 2507 go find one. mine is zero rust from s new mexico. i so lucky
Loved the 1950 grille but everyone I knew called it a walrus grille.
Love it!
Buick Roadmaster was the car of choice of most family doctors who made house calls as late as 1951.
Later than that...my pediatrician made house calls up till the late 50's
My doctor did his in a 55 Imperial coupe, but I know lots of doctors drove these, they were almost a Cadillac and their patients didn't think they were being charged for the doctor's car
@@petercrowl9467 My Mother's doctor made house calls into the 60s, as did my pediatrician when I was a kid.
Yep!
I think the green color was called "Buick Geneva Green Irid". <
There was another green that year that was a bit darker, called "Buick Verde Green".
nicely done
Buick advertised the 1950 grille design as making it impossible to "lock horns" with another car that you might be pushing or bump into in traffic. Interesting.
Love 50 Buicks. They had a certain dignity. Greats automobiles.
