@@mrswabe1056 Godzilla will get killed in this race. 1/4 mile sure half mile not so much. It wouldn't beat the 675 McLaren, and the 720 is even more potent. Better choice would be the new vette with mid engine and dual clutch. When the ZR1 is out.

The biggest gap of the day was the 918 to the LT
Hossamon in a 1/4 the 918 wins in a mile the P1 wins
N.C. everyone knew the 675lt would beat the aventador. The real race was between the huracan and the 570s

Charles 918 runs 171-172MPH in 1/2 mile. Very consistently. Time after time.
Aventador SV is 165MPH I believe. HURACAN is 152-154 MPH. GT3RS is right at 150MPH.
I think the opposite a supercar must compete in 1/4 mile or more, these super machines four wheels are made for that so they can realize their full potential. As this test was done in 1/4 mile.
1/2 mile is not a competition worth watching, since not unfurled its power and speed to the maximum. So it is much more exciting and competitive watch them compete in 1/4 mile.

The V8 only produces already 1100hp. In total with the electric engines that is 1700HP. Weight is around 1600kg.
I don't see any of the other hypercars compete with that.
I think those cars can't even compete with the Koenigsegg One 1. This car has got 1300 hp on 1300kg.

It's in a different league. To be fair the 675 LT did really well considering it costs probably 1/4 of the 918. Also the 570s was the most surprising one there boasting cars like the Huracan despite costing way less.
675LT costs around half the 918. 675LT is fairly expensive.

yea so true...the huracan got bogged down with the launch though so with a proper launch it wlda been closer or different.
the Mclaren P1 is king when it comes to mile long races no doubt. The surprise to me was the 570s beating the Huracan. I wish they would of posted times for all this drag races.
Should've been a P1 not an LT. It was pretty obvious that Porsche was going to beat it. Especially since it was designed to compete with a hyper car like the 918. That's what the P1 is for.
Other than that this is a very well made video. Good job.

Dian Bester it all depends on what kind of tracks. The two go back and forth with victories depending on location. And as for drag race, 916 wins the quarter but half a mile or more and P1 takes it easy.

570S striking and besting WELL ABOVE its category, and same for the 675LT beating the mighty Aventador SV that costs $80,000+ more than the LT. I'm a huge Lambo fan but McLaren is just killing it with their cars. 675LT against 918 Spyder was not fair, but good to see just to keep in mind how fast the 918 Spyder really is. Would've been cool to at least show a P1 lining up against the 918 Spyder for a battle royale!

+odzandenz paul I don't think you know what is DRS in the mclaren P1... the P1 Will absolutly murder the 918 in acceleration especialy above 150 mph... because of the more power and aerodynamic and also the 918 by the time it goes up to 146mph it Will switch the front electric motor which is running the front axel...
+John N I am with you the 918 can beat a p1 around a track but in a half mile race the p1 Will smoke it easily the p1 can reach 200 mph over 6 seconds faster than a porsche 918

Electric nah the 918 is the fastest petroldriven massproduced car per now - only car that beat the 918 is Rimac but they only made 6 or something of those and they are electric so...

Electric the 918 is a petroldriven car, a toyota prius hybrid is a petroldriven car.. and the 918 is more or less mass produced as they built 918 units, when i say mass produced i mean built more than 50, koenigsegg i all about top speed and its only kids who care about top speed

After quite some time has passed, I believe Porsche made the best job with 918. It has continuous exposure, still gives hell of a challenge and maybe even raising its image better than Ferrari or McLaren.

He just uploaded a new vid.. I enjoy his content but his production is not any better than motor trend, Chris Harris or this channel. He doesn't have the fan base to start charging for vids.. He lost many subscribers just because of that and it's not like he had millions to begin with.

20 years from now, 918 will be considered the legend of all legends. Up there with Miura, Countach and McLaren F1.
What about Porsche Carrera GT, Honda NSX, Ferrari F40 and of course, the truly revolutionary Porsche 959. I think the 918 is either the sucessor of the Carrera GT in performance and 959 in technology.
eumegaf of course I just named 3 cars. There are many legendary cars. But the ones I named are my top 3. And 918 is in no way comparable to any Porsche ever made especially not the Carrera GT. the CGT is an untamed powerful monster but there aren't any revolutionary aspects of it that set it leaps and bounds ahead of any other car. The 918 on the other hand is a technological masterpiece. There might not be another hybrid ever made that will beat it(unless Porsche decides to do another one). And there might not be another street production car that is just as good in a drag race as it is in a track race. It's by far #1 on my all-time list.
Ok, so for me masterpieces were the Jaguar XJ220, Porsche 959, Citroën Activa (yes, read about it) and the 918. My four top cars of all time.

The Aston Martin may be the slowest, but if i had to buy one of those cars with my own money, it would be the Aston. Because then you could say 'let's take the Aston'. And that sounds soooo good!

Wow I've never thought that the 918 was that fast! What an incredible car. I was also shocked to see the 675lt win against the Aventador SV, I've always thought the Aventador SV competed against Agera, Huayra or even Veyron.
It surprised me to see a cheaper car (675lt) beat one car which is approximately 80,000$ more expensive (Aventador SV).
