At the end of the match, there's a comment of "I'll remind you that Shattering Spree is one-drop." Shattering Spree beats Chalice. The original spell is countered but all the copies are not cast and don't trigger Chalice. It's important to remember that you can still lose your board to Shattering Spree even with Chalice on 1 out.

I felt that Chalice of the Void in Game #3 in my soul. Nothing worse than planning everything that you are going to do, and your opponent makes a play that makes you "Yeah, I'm just going to go now and fix myself a sandwich"

Reminds me of playing back in the Mirrodin block. I called my deck a bruise deck because it was a UB affinity beatdown deck filled with Broodstar, Nims, and Cranial Plating. A friend was overly confident his elf ball deck could take it. I used a Wail of Nim entwined on T4 which wiped out his board. From there, it was just an overrun with frogs and broodstar. Good times!

Bought my first Modern Deck or let's say the cards from cardmarket today or at least i payed the money into the cardmarket account... Probably gonna take a while but let's see where me my first deck gets. Your videos certainly pushed me into even thinking about buying singles finally 😅.

Nice! I love card market personally. Much cheaper solution to building decent decks without having to cycle through a billion boosters. (Especially if you’re going modern)
Look for cards on Wizards, check the stats on deck stats then head over to card market and price up your own deck idea! The only real issue is how skint I am!

After the Gitaxian Probe is played in game one, two cards are drawn from it. The first at 5.38 and the second at 5.49 after the look and the hand
Nah, it was the same card. He drew first and left it on the table, then after looking at the hand he picked up the card he set aside.

I’m shocked by the lack of Hogaak. I thought for sure there would’ve been the one-two punch of a free 8/8 and elking everything
I'm personally fine with the cantrips coming back, as well as rite of flame+seething song, hypergenesis, the artifact lands that aren't seat of the synod, splinter twin, and birthing pod
Oh lordie the cantrips and mana spells cannot come back. I play Storm and know how dangerous they are. However, Im full sending Pod and Twin off the list. Theyre too "slow" by todays Modern, and couple be viable once more. Even when Twin was banned it wasnt good, but it was so much of the meta that it had to be removed.

In game two harry played 2 Lands in one Turn. The fiery islet First to redraw and After the ponder he played spirebluff canal
It was edited out, but we took a long break on that turn. When we came back to the table, both of us had forgotten about the first land he played.

No he did not. He put the card aside, the polluted delta, when looking at the cards, then picked it back up afterwards.

Are skullclamp/ravager/chrome mox/thoughtcast not good here?
No need for chrome mox when you have Mox Opal 😎 and as for thoughtcast, I ran 4 thought monitor which I believe to be a better thought cast as it brings a body along with it. I was indeed playing two ravager and should have possibly played 2 more over the steel overseer. But skullcamp would not fit in this deck as I would much rather have permanents on the board than cards in my hand

I was wondering if thought monitor + thoughtcast + Skullclamp + chrome mox + mox opal could have given you enough card draw to just spew out 12 cards turn 1 or something like that. IDK why ravager affinity felt so dirty back when it first came out. Granted, creatures weren't as good back then so removal wasn't as good back then. I would like to see this again with all the broken card draw to go with it! Rematch

how did u played the monitor with the floading mana from the urza sage which u had to sacrifice in your drawstep? the mana became gone since u went to the next phase. your mainphase 1. and your creature didnt had flash and even if it would have, u needed the affinity for it through the ornithopter which doesnt had flash also.^^ that play was not legal possible.^^
Sagas trigger at the beginning of your first mainphase, so it's actually all good :)

Harry is now officially on the ban Chalice team after taking that massive L from it.
23:49 he totally misplayed here by leaving 3 lands in bin. He should have left three different card types in the bin in order to enable delirium more easily. Also he should have exiled one more card in order to leave open force of negation (you can in fact hard cast the card)

EVERY SINGLE TIME we decide to do No-Banned-List modern, I build a storm deck. Every time. And then realize the games would be too short and, without any key sideboard cards from my opponent, the games would be one-sided non-games. So I switch to another deck. Sometimes we have to sacrifice our own personal fun to make the video a viewable experience ;)

I feel that it's a crime that UR Gifts storm sees no play because everyone is all about the new hotness in all the other archetypes, but that despite UR storm being able to keep up no one wants to touch it because "it's old". I originally choose to play storm every time we make a no-banned-list video, and I unfortunately have to change my mind every time because, unless my opponent draws key sideboard cards, the video would probably be two non-games 😕 It's too bad because that deck, without banned cards, is simply insane!

Skullclamp would probably not be very good in this deck. The deck already has a lot of cyclers and ragavan is likely better with its current abilities than as a 3 mana-draw 2

Warning, you could not play spirebluff canal the turn you played fiery islet.
Seething Song should be unbanned, but not because I want Storm to be stronger, I want to see crazy mono red or R/G ramp decks. Same goes for Green Sun's Zenith. I also think Splinter Twin should be unbanned, because I think it wouldn't be that OP in today's meta.
Storm is unplayable. No unbans will make it good again.

Gitaxian Probe, Mental Missstep, Ponder, Preordain, Rite of Flame, Seething Song would all be useful for Storm as far as I would guess. Gitaxian Probe, Ponder, Preordain and Rite of Flame would be very strong cards for Storm I think.
Not playing Treasure Cruise because it clashes with delirium, but playing Murktide Regent, feels like not splashing green for Oko, but still splashing to play Kiora.
You're still doing the splash, but you're doing it for an objectively worse card.
Whenever you say "ban list" it sounds like "balance" to me, and its still accurate really

Illegal play game 2- Izzet Murktide played 2 lands.
I think you should have a basic mountain or two so you can fetch without taking 2 extra damage if your mana base is fine without another steam vents.
In game 1, harry blocked a 10/1 vault surge that had flying however Harry’s creature did not have flying. Game changer for sure.

Please unbann Gitaxian Probe so that I don't have to buy Mishra's Bauble
3 things i saw (yes others have commented these)
1- 2 draws off git probe
2 - double land drop
3 - chalice loses the counter ability when elked
4 FoN in the UR decks seems 2-3 copies too much, just play more Iterations and/or baubles honestly. Not to mention the heat/bolt split should be 4/2 not the other way...
And I doubt a no-banlist affinity doesnt want 4 thoughcast
The Thought Monitors are clear upgrades to Thoughtcast and they help with metalcraft. We thought about adding one or two to the list, but it slowed down the deck too much, there are only so many one-mana divinates you can jam in a linear aggro deck ;)

This izzet deck is way too fair for Modern and should take a page from Vintage and Legacy if it wants to counter the truly broken stuff. For one of these newer versions I'd love to see something like:

sol ring isn't banned in modern it's just not available as a playable card because it was never printed in a standard legal set
