Its quite extrodinary, 10 mounths ago, I bought my first guitar, never played guitar or any other instrument before in my 60 good years of life. Spent a mounth or two struggeling, but determent to learn how to handle the guitar, then i stumble on L YT clips, and that was the door opner for me. Somehow the way L does her teaching have made me in to some , whom now can jam, i and thats something i love. Just let the chords flow and find a rythm to them. Fingerpick and or strum. I can do this song now, yes ofc i miss both in tempo, chords and strings, but i can i do it. Lauren you are fantastic,

The 1st song I learned to play on guitar! (Way back in 81) Very nice! The way I transitioned from E-minor to B-Minor was to use my two little fingers (pinkie and ring) for the E-Minor and just slide back and down while adding my middle finger and barring. Great lesson! Subscribing.

Hi Lauren always love watching your tutoring videos being a amateur acoustic guitar player you seem to be able to explain how to play each song in a complete and precise manner. It is better to be able to walk properly before to be able to fly like an eagle, this tutorial is just fine for any beginners. Can't be too meticulous, otherwise will take the fun out of playing guitar.
Hi Lauren, I’m registered blind, I’m 59 and learned guitar at school. When I say learned I was taught a few chords and picked up the rest over tge years.
I have messed about with the guitar all my life. Only playing on my own. I really like the way you explain the chord progressions, it really makes sense in an unpatronising way.
Thank you, I think I’m ok on guitar but when it comes to learning new things on guitar I need things explained in a non visual way. Not sure if you have been taught how to teach blind students but you are a natural.

could you tell me more about the guitar your playing..? I just brought a524ceV ...and I have a 562 12 string..Taylor makes great guitars....you need that GM7...lol Its 1 of those 1st tunes I learned in the late 80s...thanks for the lesson

So check it out. This is like my all time favorite song. The record way to play the G chord is using the middle ring and pinky. It does sound so much better but I learned my G chord using my Index finger and I just can’t break that habit mostly because my pinky finger is so bad and useless after 5 years still thus why I struggle with barre chords. My pinky never goes where it needs. Any advice on my pinky or playing that Gmaj7 chord? Thank you for being so awesome.

I do my G the same. But, don't ignore the pinky. The more you use it the better it gets. I have a great pinky exercise coming out in the near future. Be on the lookout for that.

I watch another guitar channel and he's currently in some copyright trouble for doing an Eagles song tutorial. Thought it worth mentioning as a warning.
He probably got a copyright strike. That's pretty common on UA-cam. I did get flagged for copyright on this song. Could be upgraded. Who knows. Though being a teacher on UA-cam.
@@LaurenBateman I think it's unbelievably petty of these mega stars and mega rich stars to hunt down You Tube channels. In some way, shape or form, it's a fan base involved on this side, so they're basically shitting on fans.
Is a nice job but you missed one very important chord I call it the money cord to the song.
You're coming off of the G on the main riff hit a Gmaj7.
Easy chord with just a finger shift and try to mute the A string
Try it sometime.
Listen to how it almost sounds like the album as you go from that cheated at Gmaj7

G (always with open B string) - GM7 - C - Am - D - G.
Verses:
G - GM7 - C - Am - D
G - GM7 - C - Am - C - G
After verse preceeding chorus, end with (C-G) then straight into intro.
Chorus:
G (G/C) - G (G/C) G - Em - Bm - Am - D7
G - G7 - C - A7 - Am - D - G
Repeat intro then next verses.
I hope mr Henley doesn't strike this like he has every other eagles song 😪

Lauren Bateman, I know you are saying this is for Beginners, But of course, the listener, does not hear this version. I think, that you would be wiser to show your viewers, the other finger movements to get somewhat nearer the sound (Only Saying mate)
