I found a play along to this song on you tube Called Lyin Eyes by the Dutch Eagles ! It has the original singing and the Eagles playing along with a metrodome ticking ! Its a full 6 Minutes long , I found it quite helpful to play along with ! Just thought I'd mention it to help others learn this intricate sequence of play ! Thanks for your instructions too Kevin ! There is another shorter play along I found on you tube by Common Chords . Only 3 minutes it helped too ! Not as long ! Both have the chords to follow The shorter one has the chords showing and when to play. I used it 1st to get the fingering and muscle memory !
Love the strum songs! Thank you. Gives me more songs to strum along with the radio around a camp fire. I write it in a book and notate chord changes. Soon…. I’m gonna need a bigger book 😂
nice video thank you. Keep posting videos I been watching your videos every time you post to try and learn how to play. Do you play blue music I want to learn how to play 👋
Can't wait to try this one. It's midnight here now...and I'm really itching to have a go....but have an early start and busy day tomorrow ....so must resist the urge to play it now 😂😂 and get to sleep❤
Hi! Love your videos as a beginner and 68 years old I really appreciate them . Can I ask is Maggie May named after that Rod Stewart song ? Love the Eagles by the way!
@Relax and Learn Guitar. Hi Kevin. Greetings from the U.K. You may already know this, but word to the wise. Sir, please take extra care with your Eagles' tutorials. I read somewhere that Don Henley has a team of some 60 (maybe?) people scouring the known Universe for "perceived" Henley/Frey copyright infringements. Just as an example, a U.K. UA-cam guitar tutor called Ivor Sorefinger removed all of his Eagles uploads after UA-cam cautioned him with "one strike" for one of his Eagles tutorials that was "detected". Please don't get caught up on this situation. I don't know why Mr. Henley et al are pursuing people spreading the music of The Eagles to The World free of charge! But just like the rest of us, he won't get out of here alive! Thank you for your excellent work on your tutorials - a great help to bedroom buskers/guitar "scratchers" like me everywhere. You and yours stay safe and well.
Thanks Kevin - great lesson. do you have a lesson on changing from an open chord to a barre chord? I can get the Bm barre chord to ring if I just finger it, but when I try to change to it when playing all the strings go dead. I can't figure out how to get that barre chord fingered fast enough to get it to play w/o dead strings. Barre chords are soooo frustrating. Thanks for any info
I hear you. Stick with it. The tips in this lesson apply. So choose that Bm and maybe a D or a G chord and just practice moving between those 2 with these tips ua-cam.com/video/CFu-VIM62Sc/v-deo.html
Kevin, nice lesson. There are a couple more nuances you can try. Folks who can handle the little pinky diddle in the intro should have no problem. Whenever you transition from C to Am or Am to C, add a 5th string 2nd fret bass note (B note) in between. Afterthought...I like to play the song on a 12-string
Hey Buddy I for the life of me can’t play the G chord with those fingers. I learned 3 years ago to play it with my index finger and it’s just awkward for me to use the fingers in this video. Is this ok? I see why you’re doing it the video way but I’m just not figuring it out and I go back to my index finger G chord. This is one of my favorite songs of all time. I also struggle terribly with barre chords and I play mostly country and always need that Bm but it’s hit and miss. Sometimes I’ll nail it and others it’s muffled and horrible. Any thoughts or advice? Thank you and I love your videos as you are so calming as you teach. Thanks, Ryan 😊
Your way of playing Gmaj7 is kind of a finger twister. Why not just hit B on 2nd fret of the A string, and F# on the high E string. Fingers one and two. Strum 5-strings for the Gmaj7th. Works easier for me.
huge eagles fan and been learning the songs on the baritone uke before seeing them this december. your tutorials rock!
You got this! Hope you have a great time at the show!
One of my favourite songs. Thanks Kevin, Vicky also Maggie May.
Regards Brian
