Just love it when you two cook. That was hilarious “ oh we made a mistake, put it back!”😂 and Arne scooping the meat out of the pan😂😂😂
No mistake for me. I always fry meat+ onions + spices. No need for any fond or soy sauce then
I love that this seems so real. Real life. Not false-glamorous kitchen or anything. Homey!
You have a remarkable energy! Thank you for putting so much of yourselves into making those of us who watch so happy. Welcome to what it is like to be 70! The nouns go first along with the titles of of almost everything you have watched or read. It takes a village!
When you two cook together I belly laugh. Thank you for a wonderful recipe and good laughter.
Arne I LOVE your jokes! They crack me up. I watch your videos while I work and often laugh out loud in the office. So worth it. You two are the best. "Eating droppings" 🤣
I laughed so hard! You are like my husband and I in the kitchen, if working together. I am definitely channeling Arne!
It is like a de-constructed cabbage roll. That's awesome! Much easier and no tomato sauce.
I feel like I was learning how to make this dish at exactly the same time that you two were learning how to make it! LOL. My compliments on Carlos's fast moves getting the onions out of Freja's reach, and that tip about using a cheese slicer for butter was actually my favorite part - thanks for the idea!
Arne, love it that you know Julia Childs so well, you’re right, it would be just like her ❤️
You always make me laugh when you cook, especially Arne's giggling. Don't ever change.
you will get tired of hearing how much I enjoy each episode! Fun in the Kitchen with Arne & Carlos was a hit as always. The dish looked absolutely scrumptious! I did have a few laugh out loud moments but it was like being in my kitchen with the dog (in my case Buddy) licking the floor and making boo boo’s too. Thanks guys!
Oh you guys are hilarious! “ Do you know what droppings are? “. I have been giggling ever since!
Thanks for sharing one of your traditional dishes. It looks delicious. I loved Arne’s Julia Child impression.
Cute lil glass house for the butter 😄 Love you guys! Pudding looks delish!
You have so many lovely pieces of royal Copenhagen! 💙🤍
Yum love kålpudding. I’m originally from Sweden and my dad is from Norway ( mum is from Sweden). Have lived in Australia since I was about 5 years old. But still speak Swedish fluently. This is a dish I’ve made heaps of times. The first time my son tried it when he was younger , he loved it. We usually have this with fresh potatoes. Swedes have potatoes with everything
Looks wonderful! I love cabbage! I live in Scandia Minnesota and can actually get the berries at our corner store. Yummy!
Really enjoy your showing and chatting with us- the food sounds new and exciting to see what you produce! Cabbage, meat, onion and more- watching now- Sandra Myer from Massachusetts and Florida!
This was fun to watch and now I've learnt a new way of making kållåda! I am from Finland and am used to making mine with frying the onions and the beef, just to get a bit more flavour. It of course gives the dish a different consistency. Then, in the Finnish recipes you drizzle some syrup on top of the casserole, it goes nicely with the sour lingonberries. Now I want some kållåda!
"I eat the droppings." 🤣🤣 The food looks great though. I'll be trying it.
Love your cooking shows! 👨🍳 This one reminds me a bit of my Mom’s “stuffed cabbage.” But yours was much easier to put together. Similar ingredients but she boiled the cabbage ahead, peeled the leaf, then stuffed balls of meat mix inside, and cooked in a tomato sauce. Berries we’re a nice touch. We used mashed potatoes.
Your dish looked very good. It is always fun watching the two of you cook together!
I love when Arne says something and then realizes it sounds funny in English and gets embarassed! His laugh is so joyful and it gets me in giggles every time!
Lingonberries are really the main dish and everything else accompanies them 😊😂😂❤❤❤
And now I’m hungry! Tak and be well, Sally 🌹
♥️ Love you both, yummy, thank you, for the recipe. Season's Greetings.🥘
This looks delicious, definitely on my to do list. Casseroles are my favorite meals. I always enjoy your cooking adventures, thanks.
That looks yummy guys. I don’t eat meat but will make this with quoin mince. I wonder if realise what joy it is to watch you both in the kitchen. Arne, you are a hoot and just like a naughty schoolboy 🤭. Loved watching - thanks so much 😄
Me also. Thank you Arne and Carlos. Looking forward to hearing how your U.S. trip is going!
This looks so good! No wasting food on Arne's watch. Dining al fresco looks divine, too. Thanks for sharing such a culinary delight!
Yay, cooking with Arne and Carlos! 🎉🎉🎉❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you! So fun and yum!
What a great dish! Love arnes impression of Julia Child! Thank you for sharing! 💕
Don't know if you will see this message but.......made it and WOW ! So easy and so very delicious! Will be making this again! Thanks !
Yummie recipe!!! I love the simple kitchen most. Bon appetit. 👍👨🍳👨🍳
Buon appetito!
It is always a pleasure to watch both of you cook; it puts a smile on my face and cheers me up. I swear you could show how to toast bread and it would be just as entertaining.
The dish looked delicious, by the way. What an idyllic setting, to eat it outside - and what gorgeous light! Thank you 💖
Love your cooking shows! Im going to try this one for sure!
Looks absolutely delicious!
Thank you for your cooking shows. I made the dish for dinner and my husband said it was great.
Great team work 👏.
Thanks for another delicious recipe.
"droppings" LOL 😆 Too funny 🤣.
So fun to watch the two of you cook together.❤
Made this for dinner yesterday, it is lovely. Thank you for the recipe
This looks so delicious and easy to make , thank you for sharing 😊
Look delicious, love the garden setting.
Always enjoy your cooking episodes. Thanks for a fun video.
Love you guys. Hot mess style “whoops what do I do as Julia Child” and you didn’t disappoint! LOL. I delight in your antics. I love dishes withh cooked cabbage. I have learned through time to always cook cabbage and spinach in a huge pot. The deep sides help! You can add lots of cabbage or spinach and also stir it. 😂. I love the way handsome Carlos always exudes confidence like an expert at something and then it is obvious he hasn’t made it before. And Arne, I just want to hug you. Love you both. Glad I finally had a chance to watch this. ❤❤
Great recipe I think I'll give it a try! It's fun to watch you cook, thank you.
I will be trying this dish! Sounds great! Thanks for sharing your culture with the world!
Deeeelicious !! Great job - looks amazing!
The same ingredients we have in a Polish dish called GOŁĄBKI. The difference is that the mixture of meat and rice is fold in cabbage leaves and baked in the oven
Wow I never thought about storing my Danish butter dish upside down. Love that idea! Even if you don't use a cheese cutter, it's stil easier to slice. Thanks for the idea!
Hello, Arne and Carlos. This looks delicious… thank you❤️❤️
Arne, your Julia Child immitation was spot on!!
Dinner in the garden looked so inviting and beautiful! ❤️
Thank you as always fun watching you cook! It’s looked absolutely delicious! And having lunch outside this time year! Xx 💜🧶💜
Cooking together is my favorite time with you guys. Looks great have to try it.
We made this for dinner tonight. We're in Wisconsin and didn't have lingonberries to hand, so substituted some chopped cranberries. It was delicious. Thank you so much for sharing a simple and tasty recipe. We'll be making it often.
I made this and it was delicious - also perfect for my husband‘s keto diet 👍
So... without me knowing it, I have been making my own version of this for a few years now! I use a large pot, cook the meat and onions, then add the cabbage, stir it up, then put the lid on. I lower the heat, and it steams slowly, till cabbage is cooked! I then add some cream cheese, instead of cream. Only thing missing is the Lingon berries! Arne, you eat all the "dropping" you want! Like you say, we don't waste food! LOL😄
It looks great 😀 and what a beautiful spot to have lunch.
That looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for the recipe. It looks delicious. I live in the North West of England so that is definitely a good winter meal.
You guys are cooking my husband’s favourite vege- cabbage. You two are always entertaining. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊
Hi ArneCarlos
Yummy. A fried cabbage sandwich looks good to me😘😘
I love each of you. You both are so gentle in your ways with each other.
You live life as a Learning Experience and it
Works!
Thank-you for the great examples.
Yummy! That sounds delicious!
I will definitely make your cabbage pudding. I remember Sweden from many years ago. I love the food. Thanks Arne and Carlos
Yum. Thank you for sharing. Your beef and cabbage dish is similar to one my grandmother (from Poland) made and I borrowed from her. It's been decades but I still miss her. Arne's comment of "we don't waste" is also something she always stressed. For those in the States, there is a product "Better Than Bouillon" which is very condensed (thicker than what Carlos used) and comes in a small jar. I think I've seen it online. It is usually near the broth in the grocery store. I use it in many different recipes to add flavor. There is even a concentrate from mushrooms. Carol from Wisconsin
I use the same butter dish with stick on the dish and cover over the butter. 😀 Going to try that recipe! Yum! Thank you! ❤️
Yummy!!! Can’t wait to try for dinner!!! Thank you for sharing this recipe. 😊
I’m so excited to see this episode, now I know what to make for supper tonight! 👍🏽❤️
Love to watch you cook! The end product looked delicious.
Your UA-cam videos make me happy 😊💕
Looks delicious! 😋
That looks delicious! I am definitely going to make it for dinner. Happy Sunday!
Oh yummy. Cabbages are in season here too. I’m going to give this a try maybe with cranberries as that’s in season too. Thank you…so grateful to you both. Our rain storms have arrived so this will give me a reason to turn the oven on. 😊
In a world of so many ups and downs how refreshing to watch these two being so caring and encouraging. Reminds me of my parents with each of us every day. Definitely the time of year for cooking something like this. Very interesting techni que with the hamburger meat. I hear the suggestion of rice. I could do that without the cabbage. But have to get the legumes from Ikea. Oh so wish we had a way to smell it! Arne is so funny and how Carlos remains very in charge in a good way.
I love your cooking videos, and love it that you share your comfort food recipes with us! Arne, your microphone didn't pick up the sound of your chewing, so no problem. The veal fond you used, Carlos, is much thicker than stock or broth - in the US, you can buy demi-glace or "glace de viande", but you'd need to cook down stock or broth quite a bit to get it as thick as the fond you used, to get that really beefy flavor without making the dish watery (low-sodium only, or the dish would be too salty). I wonder if regular American cranberries are more or less tart than lingonberries - does anyone know? Fortunately, cabbage and cranberries are in season together here as well as in Norway, and since I have both a cabbage and a package of ground beef in my fridge . . . YUM!
It might be an ok substitute. Raw cranberries are super hard. I have eaten fresh lingonberries and they are tart, but very edible as is. More friendly than cranberries.
I used beef stock and I think it has a richer flavor than broth. I was able to find at Lunds/Byerlys here in Minneapolis. Wonderful grocery store!
OMG you two make me laugh cooking together. Special the “droppings” and eating it Arne, like I do. We cannot eat onions anymore. But I will make it in the winter.Greetings 🇦🇺👍
Love it! Grew up in Finnish family origins so will try this and I love cabbage!
Looks yummy! Hope to make it soon!
I have to try this. Recipe😍😃
Looks delicious! And so nice to be able to eat outside for at least one more time.
Love it❤
That looks yummy!💖
Arne and Carlos your meal looks delicious and it was so much fun watching the two of you prepare it. Loved hearing and seeing Freya please give her pets for me
I really enjoy Arne's Julia Child impression!! 🤣
Looking forward to making this!
Yum
Looks delicious...similar ingredients as cabbage rolls.
Yum.
We would call that a hotdish in Minnesota.💝
great episode! love that Arne snacks on everything while cooking ☺ my husband & I always end up with chaos in the kitchen when we cook together 🤣 I would use the butter dish the way you do too! the dish looks & sounds delish, thanks for sharing it!
Looks delicious 😋
I made it! And it's delish! Love watching you two cook! Have fun over here in the USA!
The Laurel and Hardy of Scandinavia. A delightful couple and a joy to watch.
