Social media isn’t going away. So it’s up to parents to figure out Plan B.
Kids as young as 5 years old are obsessed with phones and social media
Someone needs to come up with a phone that _only_ calls 911 or the parents. There's no reason for children to have access to social media and the internet.
@@fulanichild3138there’s been such devices for many years now, actually.
Parents are to blame not social media. What do you think happens when you give your kid a smartphone a tablet or laptop PC uh oh yeah they go on social media duh if you don't give your kids access to social media then no problem. Blame parents because social media ain't the problem and it's super obvious it's parent's not willing to accept fault for giving their kids access to social media so they blame others instead of blaming themselves. It's time for parents to actually accept fault instead of just putting on others instead put blame on yourselves.
We should ALL sue social media for all the stress and anxiety it cause everyone on a daily basis.
Poor parenting skills. Talk to your kids. Spend time with them. Take phones away at night, you're paying the bills right? Jeez. I don't leave my dogs running around the streets, eating crap off the floor, ummm?
Who paid the service? Simply turn it off.
Some of comments make me sick. A young boy is gone. Where is the sympathy for his mom. I had a friend who committed suicide at 29
Unfortunately it seems to be all to common…taunting and berating the victims and their families.
It’s siCk,… Social media is the new designer drug of choice, and it is absolutely killing our young people !!!
Unfortunately, it’s only going to get worse 😢
Her son was 16 I was on my own at 16 she should blame herself and her son for his own actions and death. How the hell you going to blame social media.. she taught that kid that others were responsible for his wrong doing and she probably always made excuses for him.
Parents need to know what’s going on with their Kids & technology.
Poor mom is just grieving.. 😢
I think you could argue that social media is actively designed to get users addicted, and we have heard the respective CEOs admit to this so it is no mystery.
However, just because a product has addictive properties does not mean it encourages or facilitates suicidal ideation. I am wondering upon what grounds this lawsuit is based. Wrongful death because a product is addictive? I have empathy for the family, but objectively and legally speaking, this lawsuit lacks merit.
By this logic we should shut down the sales of alcohol, cigarettes, automobiles, guns, power tools, knives, ladders, swimming pools, rope, marriage, and so on. "If we knew X was that dangerous, we wouldn't have given access to it."
Lots of college kids have died because of drinking. Has anyone sued the alcohol companies?
Parents use phones and notebooks to babysit and spend time with kids. Kids won't like it but who's in charge them or the parent
How ridiculous
come on take responsibility. it is your fault not facebook's etc
She claims there were no warning signs but I seriously doubt that. These parents like to absolve themselves of any responsibility.
@@tjw1861 obviously you do not have the common sense to know that social media businesses are not nannies just like that foolish woman. she probably paid the phone bill and now she is going to claim that she did not know about the mentally ill little... spending all that time online? LOL please everybody needs to take responsibility for his or her actions. stop blaming others.
Nuisance lawsuit filed against "deep pockets."
I'm sorry for this family's loss, but the social media websites are not to blame. The social media companies have the right to exist. It's up to each individual to monitor their own social media involvement.
A gun..where did the gun come from?
I think the depression came first.
Parents fault.
Exactly! Let's sue candy makers next for giving kids cavity. It's all their fault that parents can't parent anymore!! 😂
Poor kid... with a Tesla.
