Project Farm just did a side by side comparison of vacs and this one came out near the top. Best suction power of them all.

Thumbs up. I noticed mine had a smell when I opened the box. It could be the plastic, but smelled kind of like over heated motor wires. I wonder if the motor doesn’t over heat in these under full load. I smell it when using it and more when the unit is loading. The manual says don’t vac solid water, Let some air come up with the water. I’m guessing the unit has an over heating issue under full load. Makes sense because you won’t have as much air cooling it. Lot of wires have some really toxic wire insulation. I tested mine with a power meter and the power draw starts to drop when the unit loads. down 100 watts or so, It bounced around but didn’t peak until it was unloaded . Seems like it should draw more power under load, not less. If you’re just pulling dust probably doesn’t matter. Thanks for posting.

I have not noticed that issue, but I only use the vac for dust collection, so don't want water in it - ever - thanks for sharing the info, thanks for subscribing!

I have a few videos showing the 4hp Bauer I use for various dustopper setups I think would interest you. I would like to experiment with the model depicted in this video and the Bauer cyclone. I see you have a clip on that too so off I am off to watch it!

Have you used bags with this yet? Are there any bags that fit??

After I have a load of water in the bucket is there a way to 'blow it back out' (reverse it) via the hose ? Instead of me having to lift the heavy water-filled-bucket ? BTW, I also purchased mine at Harbor Freight.

Do you know of any adapters from the hose to power tools for dust collection? Skil table saw port 2-1/8” inside diameter? Thanks

I make my own out of plastic bottles and they work fine, easy to replace if they break a good price - thanks for subscribing!

Ok, one last question and then I won't bother you anymore.....can I use the shop vac for cleaning out ashes from my fireplace ? (Thought I'd line the vac with one of those large black lawn bags)

no problem on questions, you can use it for vacuuming up ashes, as long as they are cool, the vac will suck up about anything that will fit down the hose, wet or dry - thanks for subscribing!
