This is actually a really interesting story. I’ve never heard of invasive species actually being enforced. And while this might be annoying on the micro level, on the macro level it’s nice to see local governments taking initiative to protect ecosystems and native habitats of flora and fauna. Thanks for sharing this, and you’re an official nursery now 😂. I feel like the community needed to hear an experience like this. Anyways, I’m interested in buying some water lettuce will your nursery carry any? Please lettuce know 😂

Do you know Chantz? I used to collect in Florida, a couple sagittaria here and there. They changed the regulations so that it was illegal to collect. I need to go look and see if they have changed it so that a hobbyist can pick up a piece of ludwigia and take it home without being prosecuted.

My dad lives in FLA in the wintertime and I've heard about FLA being very picky about protecting the water and land animal life, so I guess that makes sense. Best of luck on your new journey to plant life! lol Btw, do you have a selection of "plants for noobs" you would suggest for someone like me to start off with?
Thanks for the support. My recommendation for beginner plants is to stick with epiphyte style plants. They’re very hearty, hard to kill, and will most of the time regrow from the rhizome if you do make a mistake. Examples would be all the types of Anubis, Buce, Pana, Pinnatifida, and mosses. Check out some of my other videos to see how beautiful an all epiphyte aquarium can be. @@ssaquascapes If you need help building. Let me know and if I am in the area, I wouldn't mind riding on by. I work construction for the theme parks. So everything I make is DIY and themed. Since I am also a theme painter. Personally, love bartering more than straight buying tbh. And building up a good network is always smart imo. Just wait till I get my land and start building my home. The shit I will build will bring billion dollar ideas into your very home..... That said, helping other to build theirs will help me build mine later. So if you're curious about motives. lol

@@ssaquascapes Yeah, right now, I gotta set up my new Medo piston air pump across my room and have it going across it all so I can have it properly running without a bleed valve with the sound of a super sonic jet. lol Annoying knowing I will need to take it all down. But we gotta move within the confines we are given until we can burst out the seems to expand.
This is why you create a website, sell and base your business in a different state(online only) and just ship from your home in Florida but use a PO box in another state with a forwarding address to your home. Been growing water lettuce in the creek in my back yard for decades here in Florida lol.
Wisconsin invasive list is pretty ridiculous. Some are true potential, and some have no chance of surviving a winter. All we can do at this point is follow the laws to the best of our abilities. Thanks for sharing 😊
Wisconsinites love running around policing each other over invasives but my attitude is if Home Depot or Menards can sell it and you don't like it, take it up with them.

Varies by state and some don’t require a permit either from my research.
