ICYI, here is the written recipe: Ramsay Sausage and Rice - A tablespoon oil - 1 red onion, chopped - 1 Red bell pepper, roughly chopped - 3 garlic cloves, thinly sliced - 6 Sausages, casing removed (My family isn't big on spicy food, so I use sweet Italian sausages. The fennel in the sausage adds an amazing flavour to this dish. Any sausage works though) - 1 heaped teaspoon paprika - 2 Cups long grain uncooked rice (I use basmati) - *1/2 Cup white wine (I use chicken stock instead of wine) - *4 Cups chicken stock (4.5 if not using wine) - 5 green onions, chopped - 2 Tomatoes, chopped - Small bunch of flat leaf parsley, chopped Add oil to pot and sautee onions for 5- 6 minutes. Add bell pepper and sautee 2 minutes. Push peppers and onions to the outside of the pan, turn heat up to high and add sausage meat. Once meat starts to brown, add garlic and paprika, stir well. Add rice, stir well, then add 1/2 cup of wine* and use wooden spoon to scrape the bottom of the pan, loosening off anything stuck to the bottom. Once the pan feels clean, pour in the stock, reduce heat and simmer for about 20 minutes until rice is cooked. Once it's done, remove from heat and stir in green onions, chopped parsley and tomatoes, Enjoy! *If the liquid is gets really low before the rice is fully cooked, put a lid on and turn off the heat. The rice will finish cooking within 5-10 min.

For those looking to actually make this, I am a student and parents always cooked me meals, I made this last night and let me tell you, it is a very simple dish to make and tasted absolutely amazing, what I did differently was I boiled the rice separately until it was cooked to my preference, once I finished making the sausage dish I added some of the cooked rice, mixed it together and it was beyond amazing!!!! Appreciate the likes and comments! EDIT: so saw a few comments about "whats the difference with cooking the rice separately"! might be easy for some people but for someone new to cooking like myself, its super hard to tell how much rice to add , it's very easy to overcook the rice or not putting enough rice. Yeah you might not get as much flavour as cooking the rice in the dish which allows the rice to absorb more flavour but the dish alone already has so much flavour doesn't bother me that the rice doesn't absorb it during the cooking process! *also side note, I did not use wine, just chicken stock!*
Whats the difference boiling the rice in a seperate pot or in that which is already in use ? There is enough liquid in the pan for the rice to cook and additionally it already absorbes the flavor into it
I make this regularly. I change up the order though and fry up the sausage meat first, setting it aside when done. Making sure it's browned nicely. This way it won't suck heat out of the pan later and you actually have the sausage fat in the pan when you cook the onions. And you can get a lot more browning happening this way. To each their own.
I tried this the other day, and it taste awesome. The spicy Italian sausage flavor cooks into the rice and other ingredients and it is very good. An instant family favorite.

Great recipe! Tried it tonight, with honey garlic sausage instead since that's what I had on hand. Delicious and very easy to customize for my taste. Will be added to the keeper list.
I wasn’t expecting much from this dish because I’m more into Indian, Thai and Mexican but it was Superb. I used chorizo and bratwurst because I could not find Italian sausage. I wouldn’t make it any other way now. Spot on. And added to my household menu. Thanks Gordon. Great recipe
Made this twice now to the exact recipe (except parsley) and quantities. It came out perfect, really enjoyed it. Gonna try freezing it as I made it without the parsley. It made 4 portions.
I have made this 1 time before and I will be making it for dinner tonight. It came out amazing. Super good! The next day I ate the left-overs for lunch and all the hot n spicy came out in FULL force. It was a big mistake to add hot sauce. This is a fast and easy dinner to make. This one is a keeper!
I followed this recipe to its bare bone, using a couple of spicy lamb sausage. The flavor is indeed amazing, but notice that he never put salt or pepper in. When I tried it, the flavor was a little too light. When you make it, you might wanna season the dish, or add soy sauce at the end, according to your liking. Have a good day!
Found some sausages at a reduced price and couldn’t leave them. Wasn’t sure what to use them for but I can’t WAIT to try this! Didn’t even need any extra ingredients 😊
I made it tonight but I only had green peppers. Super delicious! We have a vegetarian visiting so I made a separate pan without the sausage and it is incredible! I believe this is a good recession recipe as I made a huge pot of it for very little money. ❤
Le Di Chang i made this tonight and it seemed to me like it needed some help from somewhere. At the back of my mind I thought just some cajun seasoning would do it... buttttt the game changer here are the spring onions and the parsley. They really make it sing and I feel like that would be lost with too much other stuff... That being said it seems a bit lame relying on the last minute green stuff. Maybe my ingredients just weren't expensive enough!
Not really.... Jambalaya you would do Merguez or Chorizo for more heat and swap Cayenne pepper for the Paprika. Jambalaya should be SPICY. This recipe would have flavor but not much heat.
Ive just made this and guessed most of the measurements but the family absolutely wolfed it down. I used caramelised red onion sausages and herby cumberland ones instead of spicy ones though and brown rice which takes a little longer to cook but it was absolutely magic. Thanks Mr Ramsay... you managed to find something made mostly of veg that i can get my 6 year old to eat. (I normally have to hide them) There are no words!
Just made this for my dad and brother as a child cook and they loved it and wanted more but there wasn’t any leftovers My mom tasted it too but she personally doesn’t like sausage very much but she said the rice and veggies were delicious
This recipe turned out very good. Not so much "gourmet", but just solid comfort food you'd want a loved one to serve you. He didn't mention salt & pepper, but it definitely needs a bit of both.

Due to the Portuguese and Spanish influence in South America there is (mainly in those three southern states in Brazil) a dish called as “Arroz de Carreteiro”. Arroz = Rice and Carreteiro = is the person who used to drive those old wagons during 18th and 19th century a kind of coachman. Basicly his jobs was transporting cattle across the southern’s Brazil area and between Argentina and Uruguai. Because his resouce would be very limited and at that time did not exist refrigeration to preserve any food, the only alternative would be a sort of dried meat or sausage, some grains as beans and rice, lard and a sort of bread, rock salt to be use in barbecue. As time goes by the dish got popular and nowaday is famous as Arroz de Carreteiro or Coachman’s rice.
Made it today. It was really good! I've used canned tomatoes that were already seasoned for vegan Bolognese. And I've added some carrots. Next time I'll use chorizo and bacon :)

Made this twice now to the exact recipe (except parsley) and quantities. It came out perfect, really enjoyed it. Gonna try freezing it as I made it without the parsley. It made 4 portions.
A very tasty and cheap dish cooked in 15 minutes. A perfect meal after a hard day at work when you don't want to stand in the kitchen for long.
Just made this an hour ago! Surprising delicious. This is gonna be one of the staple dish in our family. Low effort yet amazingly flavourful ❤
This recipe has been a constant go-to since I found it 5 years ago. Making it tonight. Let's gooo!
made this yesterday I a cast iron pan.
reheated the rest in the evening in the oven. bloody delicious.
Awesome, its 10pm and now I wanna make some sausage and rice.
Tried this many times now…NEVER fails. Gordon’s home recipes are so good!! 🍉🧀🧅🥘🥃
I was waiting for Gordon Ramsay to softly say "hello, my name's Nino" at the end
Everyone: That's not a table spoon of olive oil
Me: *HE DID NOT WASH THE RICE*
probably pre-washed.
first world country
How do you wash rice??
@@AO-wg9ne you just fill a pot of rice with water and stir it to get the starch and debris out. I usually wash it 3x to clean it.
He's got 7 Michelin Stars, I assume he knows what he's doing.
I have watched so many cooking videos I’m almost embarrassed, but this dish is the most visually appetizing I have ever seen.
How much salt&pepper did you use?
DID GORDON RAMSAY ACTUALLY FORGET TO "SEASON BEAUTIFULLY"!?!?
Found some sausages at a reduced price and couldn’t leave them. Wasn’t sure what to use them for but I can’t WAIT to try this! Didn’t even need any extra ingredients 😊
Super easy to make and absolutely delicious. So simple yet so tasty!
0:39 whoever is selling Ramsay his "tablespoon" gotta be a scammer.
Honestly, just made this, and my wife asked for seconds! Thanks Gordon. So good!
What kind of stock did you put an how much?
1:20 spank the shit out of it, Gordon
nightowl ?
My Channel - no...I didn't...I think you just didn't get it.
nightowl yeah you got it wrong, it's Gordon
nightowl you so fucking stupid 🙄 🖕🏼
Rip XXXTENTACION How so?
Look at all of that
*_FLAVOR_*

Iain Mac Exactly. Fucking yanks,.
Do you get a lot of flavour from your Aloooominum pan?
Made tonight and turned out soo good...I made my Italian sausage tge day before and made it taste even better, hubby's quote!
I made it tonight but I only had green peppers. Super delicious! We have a vegetarian visiting so I made a separate pan without the sausage and it is incredible! I believe this is a good recession recipe as I made a huge pot of it for very little money. ❤
How big is your table spoon?
Revengelol he *REALLY* meant a table spoon
Pint

As someone who's been cooking for a long while I never knew incredible flavor could be so simple.
So... jambalaya?
I knew I wasn't the only one who thought this.
Yep.
Can't beat a decent jambalaya though. Lunch for days!
Usually go for chicken and chorizo but I'm gonna try this.
Don't you need the holy trinity for any cajun food though?
Used Chorizo in this and it was awesome
I LOVE 💘 how Ramsey cooking ! his voice, his hand and the things he cook works together at the same time !
First video where I didn’t see “salt... and pepper”
The sausage is enough
@@RD-ht6go not quite
drill zilla no it’s definitely enough
You probably want to throw in salt with the onions and the peppers. It helps them cook down while flavoring the dish. I forget why.
I think the chicken stock is salty enough
Ive just made this and guessed most of the measurements but the family absolutely wolfed it down. I used caramelised red onion sausages and herby cumberland ones instead of spicy ones though and brown rice which takes a little longer to cook but it was absolutely magic. Thanks Mr Ramsay... you managed to find something made mostly of veg that i can get my 6 year old to eat. (I normally have to hide them) There are no words!
Just made this for my dad and brother as a child cook and they loved it and wanted more but there wasn’t any leftovers
My mom tasted it too but she personally doesn’t like sausage very much but she said the rice and veggies were delicious
I think when you use a cruet you have to pour for a longer time because it doesn’t splash out like a bottle does.
This recipe turned out very good. Not so much "gourmet", but just solid comfort food you'd want a loved one to serve you. He didn't mention salt & pepper, but it definitely needs a bit of both.
i tried it and also added salt and paper... it taste really good
The fact that i love him the most is that i have a huge novel called 'GORDON RAMSAY BIOGRAPHY' and i have read it. When i was reading that i actually felt every single moment of his life and there was struggle, love, pain, success, failure and everything else. After finishing that novel, the love and respect for him increased unconditionally. Love From India ❤️
This looks delicious! I wish I could eat any dish made personally by him 😂🥰
I'm so happy that you have decided to share with the world how to cook. I've always aspired to learn but was afraid of being yelled at by you lol. Now I can learn great recipes from you in the comfort of my kitchen. Thank you chef.
The secret behind is that it's tasty and delicious. Touch of olive oil in there. Season it beautifully. And that just brings it to a whole new level. I've watched too many of these. Done.
He could cook a flip flop and I would eat it.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ghandi's to be precise
This is one of my favorite go to recipes for something simple, but fresh and delicious!!!
This is my favorite recipe so far
Jokes aside this has become one of my favourite things to eat
What did you use for the stock? Chicken or beef?
@@muffinman2946 I'm from the uk, but I used beef
Hi, how much rice did you add?
@@asheca5156 I think it was a cup
I made this last night. And while I’m positive Gordon’s is so much better, I followed it to a T and we absolutely loved it!! 🎉. The sausage and smoked paprika was delish!! Thanks Gordon!! ❤
Spicy Sausage, Red Onion, Tbs Olive oil, onions in first 5-6min, red pepper mid chopped, in, garlic, in, high heat, open center, stir in sausages quickly, tsp paprika, raw rice, 30 sec mix in, white wine deglaze, chicken stock, double to rice, up to boil, turn down to simmer 12-15min, tomatoes & spring onion in, no heat, flat leaf parsley, serve.
I really need to know what his definition of a table spoon of olive oil is 😂
AustinLong1639 The size of a table.
Brandon Tay HILARIOUS AND ORIGINAL.
As time goes by the dish got popular and nowaday is famous as Arroz de Carreteiro or Coachman’s rice.
he makes it look so easy and simple when its actually hard af
*Gordan Ramsay’s kids making cereal*
Gordan: hun, you forgot the olive oil
Here's your Fruit Loops. Salt ... pepper ... beautiful.
GLUG,GLUG,GLUg,GLug,Glug,Gl...... Yes there is a bit of fucking olive oil!!
This guy seriously is the King when it comes to cooking. Incredible.
Made it today. It was really good! I've used canned tomatoes that were already seasoned for vegan Bolognese. And I've added some carrots.
Next time I'll use chorizo and bacon :)
I've made this recipe several times since watching how to make it. Delicious comfort food 😋
my rice always comes out alittle undercooked and i let it simmer for 12-15 mins.
