@6:48 As Mike bites into that succulent fish, in the background.... "Take me away, to a secret place!!" Best moment in this video. I laughed a bit too hard on that moment.
lol. when he took a bite from the fish and made a face. the song in the background went so well with it. his face was like OMG and the song was like TAKE ME AWAY!!!! i died. 😆😆😆
I’m originally from the Bay Area and love seeing videos like this! It gives me great ideas for my next visit home! Show me more fantastic foodie places!
It's really fun 'virtually' hanging out with you guys. Hearing your comments, seeing the dishes, this is honestly great entertainment. The only thing better is if I had three friends like you and I went out and joined in with them. Thanks!
I love this channel! Finally I can watch something during eating. This is pretty much my only subscribed channel that isn't science, gaming or humor. I cannot eat watching either of those so this channel is really convenient!
😃 WOWWWWW! ! ! I haven't seen a Chinese restaurant like this in YEARS. *sees glass on table* Is that glass on the table?! Oh my gosh, they have glass on the tables!!! I remember that. . . . . Wow kind of nostalgic Also Xing speaking Chinese brings much smiles to my face 😊😊😊😊
I don't even know the both of you yet I'm so happy that you moved together......enjoy your new home,be happy....and eat lots and lots of FOOD. I love to learn about your culture from all your different shows.
One of the great things about the Bay Area is with all the diversity there are lots of truly authentic ethnic restaurants from Chinese, to Filipino, to Ethiopian to Peruvian etc. And the great thing is lots of it trickles down to the smaller ethnic places. And also the people in the bay area are pretty open to eating a range of food from from, hypothetically, the most authentic southern Mexican food to a good old bay area burrito. And if you hunt a little you can find great authentic ethnic food.
You three are definitly really good friends :D Makes me kind of envious of you ^^ And Mike, can you make much more cooking videos in your new place? Because I am from germany and nothing here is authentic chinese food so the only way for me to actually taste it is to do it myself ... and you mostly pick the easy recipes XD Which is good for me ;3
That moment when the song drops in the background ( 6:41 ) as Mikey starts to go off about how good the hot pot it is. Timing is impeccable haha :D Greetings from India, and great vid as always.
"This is not a regular hotpot as we have shown you before" This is the only kind of hotpot I knew (well, at least in terms of the sauce) for the first 20+ years of my life. I remember my first time going to "xiao fei yang" and seeing a bunch of different kinds of sauces and I was like WOW. totally impressed.
Hi Guys, Try San Tung in the sunset. Their chicken wings are awesome. And Purple Kow milk tea in the richmond. Best hot pot I've had in the bay area is Boiling Point in Fremont, just so fresh. Also check out Wuji's Mala house if you're down there, they have good taiwanese hot pot. And lastly, in Fremont, I think you guys would like TLT chinese bbq.
Awesome. I've lived/worked in San Bruno for 10 years and there are so many restaurants, now I'll know where to go. So excited. Hot Pot places are popping up more and more. Welcome to the area.
Just yesterday I was thinking how great it would be to have a channel like yours for the Bay Area AND THEN I SEE THIS VID. I hope you weren't joking about moving here. I'd love you guys so much. Not that I don't already do.
So happy you have moved to the West Coast, now I may be able to try your recommendations. Big welcome to you & friends! Hope you will travel to Portland, Seattle and Vancouver to eat. Enjoy the great food and the rain.
With all the different Chinese foods.. Its so difficult figuring it all out.. And now I have you to come to so when I go to a Chinese Restaurant. I will be able to order with ease.. Thank You so much for your Vlogs... I now have subscribed to your channel..
mike we hit up this spot after watching this and it was definitely one of the tops. i think you guys missed a sleeper though in the fried intestine. we ordered it on a whim and it was the best intestine i've had. ever. the lamb was freaking good but that intestine stole the show. so good!
When I travel to California for business (from SF to La Jolla), its rare that I've ever had a bad meal. I seems like CA just has a higher standard for food prep in general than most parts of the country - so perhaps that goes for Chinese food as well. Its more expensive, but I dont mind paying more when I walk away from an awesome meal.
They do have the 水煮两样 in almost every restaurant which offers that dish. If it's a Beijing restaurant, ask for 炒饼 and 豌豆黄。that's two of dishes I eat all the time when in Beijing. 豌豆黄 is a desert, all time favorite.
if you're moving to the bay area make sure you visit the asian mall in elcerrito (ranch 99 and others) and go to the banquet place just on the side along the freeway. Our families favorite!
I like it all, but my bias is toward the North, I like it spicy. One of the best Northern styled restaurants (back in the day) was a place called "Yenching" located in Berkeley. I have yet to find a place to rival Yenching in the Bay Area. I recently checked out the House of Pancakes, amazing pulled noodles.
LOL YI'S reaction to Mike when asking her if she from Beijing. btw I Like Spice in my food too. at the new York food court I got Sichuan tenden and jerkey but I couldn't finish it because it passed my spice level. as usual best of luck on the move to San Fransico
Try oolong noodles in sf chinatown. Ask for the $50 platter special. Comes with crab, corn, sausage, and more. They also have sushi and noodle soops(huge portions!)
this is down the street from my moms in san mateo I never went there.. I need to go there one day the next time I visit her! gonna be on my list to go. and now I can watch your videos and visit the places one day cause they will be near by. within traveling distance
I've never had hot pot before but I am DEFINITELY going soon! We have a couple hotpot restaurants here in Columbus that are supposed to be really good.
I've noticed now that, especially with the recent mainland immigration to the West Coast, I'm seeing many more Beijing and Szechuan places open up in LA. My favorite style is Cantonese. The new stuff is something I can only eat ever 4-5 months. The flavors are just too intense.
Great video! Now that you're in the bay would looooove to see something in and around Oakland Chinatown? Any dumpling and/or noodle recs? Love your channel!
warning: never watch Mike's videos on an empty stomach!!!!
I'm starving
I had dinner before watching. Still didn't help!!!
I couldn't even finish the video.Bye.
Watched in the middle of the night, at place 10 miles away from any shop that has food, decides to adopt this as method of interrogation.
For sure!
+Sharpice Woods watched this after I finshed a nightmarket in Taiwan

Missing this trio honestly. These were the good times
"Should we fight them?" LOL!!! That was funny!
So happy you're moving to SF!! Now I can visit the places you guys eat!!!
haha nice :-)
you are so pretty
I’m originally from the Bay Area and love seeing videos like this! It gives me great ideas for my next visit home! Show me more fantastic foodie places!

he is to Hot Oil what Gordon Ramsay is to Olive Oil.
I'm from Beijing!! Good job Mike!
thanks :-)
Oh nice my Mums from Beijing
I am from Beijing too. 大家好啊:)
How do you have youtube?
charlie white FROM Beijing not IN Beijing😐
Chinese food keeps stopping me from becoming a proper vegetarian!!!
Good ;)
weird... chinese food is the only type of food I don't mind eating without meat.
desiderataification good don't go to the dark side
desiderataification On behalf of fellow Chinese people who can cook, Enjoy and embrace the food.
Because the Chinese aren't pussies.
I love this video, everything looks fantastic and I really enjoy the friendship you all have, thanks for including us.
this is the cutest thing. just 12 minutes of mike going "this is AMAZING" and his friends echoing "SO GOOD'
It's really fun 'virtually' hanging out with you guys. Hearing your comments, seeing the dishes, this is honestly great entertainment.
The only thing better is if I had three friends like you and I went out and joined in with them.
Thanks!
I am so excited to see your awesome food adventures in San Francisco! Looks like your first one, is a big success! That lamb looked amazing!

West Coast is the best coast! Really looking forward to all your SF restaurant reviews.
6:08 "Pocketful of sunshine" describes hot pot perfectly, lol🥢❣
how are you guys not 300 pounds! I'm so jealous! I wish I could eat this much in one sitting
Stacey Cecilia are you 300 pounds?
I know right! :( I wish I was able to eat this much gooood food aswell.
+DJRap999 no, she's obviously saying that she's jealous that she can't eat without gaining quickly
because Mike is doing sport. Like running 10 Miles for warm up and than he is doing Weight Lifting.
I mean what can I say? Asians can eat and not get fat quickly

I really miss the Chinese food in the bay area. You are going to have so much fun finding new places to eat!
mike we hit up this spot after watching this and it was definitely one of the tops. i think you guys missed a sleeper though in the fried intestine. we ordered it on a whim and it was the best intestine i've had. ever. the lamb was freaking good but that intestine stole the show. so good!

I live in California and you've come to the right place for Chinese food!
Isn't someone going to notice that at 6:50 the music was perfect for Mike's reaction to the hotpot beef?😜
Yi is just so adorable!

Sometimes feel sorry for Mike. He has to third wheel Dan and Yi 😂😂😂😂😂 i know they're all friends
I think he doesn't really care :)) he's in a relationship with foods right there LOL...
nothing comes between a man and his relationship with food. XD
LOL trueeeeeeew
Its almost midnight, haven't had supper yet and I'm watching this video!! I hate you Mikey 😜
Great video Mike!! Love the dad joke btw
They do have the 水煮两样 in almost every restaurant which offers that dish. If it's a Beijing restaurant, ask for 炒饼 and 豌豆黄。that's two of dishes I eat all the time when in Beijing. 豌豆黄 is a desert, all time favorite.
Can't quit you Mike! One vid leads to another, which leads to another...
You're moving to SF, hell yeah! It's going to take you years to eat through the bay area. Looking forward to the videos!!
*puts hot oil on noodles*
Mike: Is it ok if I hot oil this?
Me: You already put the oil on why are u asking 😂
OMG Mikey! Everything looked delicious!!!
if you're moving to the bay area make sure you visit the asian mall in elcerrito (ranch 99 and others) and go to the banquet place just on the side along the freeway. Our families favorite!
OMG! I'm from San Francisco, I would show you guys all the good food places!
I loved to see your list of good places.
+Anthony White what kind of cuisine?
I like it all, but my bias is toward the North, I like it spicy. One of the best Northern styled restaurants (back in the day) was a place called "Yenching" located in Berkeley. I have yet to find a place to rival Yenching in the Bay Area. I recently checked out the House of Pancakes, amazing pulled noodles.
Sichuan food is spicy...Mort southern though
Welcome to SF! We have a ton of great restaurants so I hope you find them! Love your videos.
you guys are moving to SF?! awesome, see ya around. Never been to this place but next time will definitely try it out.
Love that you all went back the next day... "I'll be back" tomorrow at 7pm:)
- Mike takes a bite of fish - background music says it all - "Take me away" by Natasha Bedingfield. Looks like a sweet escape to me.
Because of your great review, we'll go to this place tomorrow! Thanks. 😊👍
LOL YI'S reaction to Mike when asking her if she from Beijing. btw I Like Spice in my food too. at the new York food court I got Sichuan tenden and jerkey but I couldn't finish it because it passed my spice level. as usual best of luck on the move to San Fransico
Hot pot is good for wintery days, for even cheaper ideas just boil it, hope water is clean enough.!
You all are so great, thanks for your clean content and down to earthiness. Drooling over the food!!
Isn't Yi from Xi An, the same place you are from Mike? I think I learned that from watching the old Off the Great Wall videos 😂😂
I've never had it before, but you have convinced me. Now I really want to try chinese hotpot! :)
Try oolong noodles in sf chinatown. Ask for the $50 platter special. Comes with crab, corn, sausage, and more. They also have sushi and noodle soops(huge portions!)
why do I always watch these videos at 3am while i'm starving.. brutal..!
this is down the street from my moms in san mateo I never went there..
The first hot pot I made used duck broth as a base. It was unbelievable. Give it a try; way different.
I actually googled lamb rib hot pot on the east coast in NY or Boston. I like seeing you three again in this video.
I've noticed now that, especially with the recent mainland immigration to the West Coast, I'm seeing many more Beijing and Szechuan places open up in LA. My favorite style is Cantonese. The new stuff is something I can only eat ever 4-5 months. The flavors are just too intense.
Hey man, Really enjoying your videos..
Thank you for the recommendation! Will definitely visit on my next trip.
