Love the idea, but I've never been a fan of topping cleaner wax type products. I've done it, and wondered why I just didn't use a finishing polish to give my spray sealant a direct bond to the paint.
Just did this combo today on a customer's white yukon denali..im very impressed! I left it sit for a minimum of 20 mins before I wipes off with beadmaker. I didn't think beadmaker could feel any slicker but now it does! And yes guys, beadmaker alone is a pretty strong sealant and have seen it go over 70 days with ample beading still.
Now I'm curious what kind of things Levi's did with that chemistry set he had as a kid. The Honda looks amazing, keep the detailing oriented videos coming.
Hello fellas, I've watched many of your videos. In two of them you are using UNO protect and bead maker. In one you polish the entire vehicle in 20 mins and and then spray bead maker and wipe off. In the second you polish the entire vehicle and say to wait 4 hrs before applying the bead maker. Does waiting the four hours allow the polish to cure more and therefore give a better shine. Sorry for being so long winded. Thanks for the videos. Jim
Just heard about Uno the other day. Interesting, to say the least. Personally not a fan of BM, so I don't think I'd give this a shot. I love the experimentation, though! Thinking outside the box and finding synergies is always rewarding.
Brian Ballenger noticed that too. I believe TRC mentioned how to counteract the fogging/smearing when hot/humid - spray BM directly on the towel, and none or a very minimal amount on the panel. That helped me a little bit, but it's not perfect. If Uno came in a smaller size, I'd definitely pick some up and experiment with other spray sealants I have.
Honestly I dunno about BM either, but one thing that I do in my business is use HD Speed and wipe it off with Meg's Synthetic Xpress Wax. That is also a killer combo with no dwell time and direct sunlight and black plastics friendly.
Matt - I tried the Turtle Wax Ceramic Polish. It’s the standout product in that range IMO. The wool pad works great with most AIO’s from what I’ve heard.
Why replace the sealant in Uno Protect and why with Beadmaker which isn’t know for its longevity? Isn’t there a longer lasting spray sealant that can take the place of Beadmaker and extend the longevity of Uno Protect?
Hmm Interesting, will this process work with other all In Ones say like 3D Speed, Meguiar d 166, jescar AIO, carpro Essence, among others . Thanks for the info and vid
If your using Rupes UNO (AIO), but then replacing the protection sealant with Beadmaker sealant, whats the difference between using a normal 1 step product that will cut and give gloss (Perfect Finish)? Since your just using UNO for that and giving it a different sealant?
So I finally gave this a shot and the final results were great, but I had a battle with streaking after trying to wipe off the BM. Keep in mind.... I was doing this OUTSIDE (Northern CA) and our weather was pretty damp after a lot of rain and the sun was breaking in and out. I want to assume it was my conditions that caused this but maybe someone could speculate otherwise? Took me FOREVER to wipe away the discolored streaking. I found that if I applied BM to my MF towel and applied it quickly to a smaller section of panel and did a quick buff out that I was able to avoid the issue.
@@donaldthomason4588 yeah that and I skipped the part of letting the UP set up for a few hours after wipe off. I applied BM probably a 1/2 hour after the whole car was glazed with UP.

My car has a feel of tiny little grit as I run my hand across the paint, I don't see it, but I feel it. Do I have to clay the surface of my car to remove this grit before buffing it or do I use a compound with a buffer to remove the grit before I polish it with UNO Protect.

Hey George, yes it can be used on trim and interior plastics. I have seen detailers even using it on those expensive dashboard screens like Teslas, etc.
Oh shit, and here I was pondering on what my next AIO will be. I got a bunch of these jobs coming up, and I ran out of Speed. Time to fire up the charge card! (pulls string...vrrroooooommm!!)
Hey Anthony and Levi, hope you two are doing well. Don’t you think this combo is not an ideal one when it comes to longevity of this application, as Uno have fillers in it?? While it gives you the immediate pop it is really not a durable solution and may work for someone who does not want to pay for full correction process with quality products that does not include fillers. I need to know you opinion when it comes to Uno and fillers in it. Appreciate your feedback.
If you do this the csl won't bond properly and will have a short life, csl is designed to bond to bare paint, if you use panel wipe on the uno you will remove the waxes and sealants. Here's an idea, coat with csl then top with beadmaker, it might work, it might not.
The waxes may have some filling effects, but if you do an IPA wipe on your test spot you will be able to see the correction that it is providing. Rupes has some webinars on their UA-cam channel that have a lot of info. With the right technique, this can provide a lot of correction from what I've seen.
Didn't know we had to leave Uno on the paint to cure so I would say it stayed on for about 5 minutes and used beadmaker to take off residue because it's what I had on hand lol
Awesome! I look forward to trying this combo. Did you guys ever find Levi's 20 minute polish video from his FB live? If not, maybe you should recreate it 😁
If 20 minutes is the setup time that Rupes recommends then Rupes needs to include the 20 minute setup time on the bottle instructions. All the instructions says is "... No way I’d keep a clients car for 4 hours after I’m finished just to apply something like BeadMaker lmao 🤣 This adds steps. Use 3 towels to remove, UNO protect is so slick by itself and easy to remove. Applying BeadMaker seems like a total waste of time.
This is great but it’s not a new idea 100% , in fact for years body shop guys had been using a detail spray to loosen up compound that has dried and got hard to get off. But that’s the body shop so the intent was obviously different. On mobile jobs we’d do this to make one final wipe down working outside in the elements for efficiency. But back then there was no all in one , again it was to break down the sealant residue with a little moisture. Same here but it’s a family chemical component in the said polish and spray that make them work. Polymers for polymers , SiO2 for SiO2 and ceramic for ceramic. In this case a all in one shares a similar chemical that will bond together waxes do the same. So let’s say someone used a wax to finish up a job , a spray wax ( not sealant ) just a wax might adhere. In this case the uno project accepts BeadMaker as it’s polymer and now what you get is a better looking finish that may last a little longer thanks to uno adding it’s durability agents to Beadmaker as it’s applied and now beadmaker last longer.
Would Bead Maker play nice with GlossCoat??? Here is my plan - Wash car and chemical decon - Meguairs clay using ONR - Correct few panels using Griots Garage Correcting Cream with Rupes yellow pads - Polish whole car using Meguairs 210 with Rupes yellow wool pads fast arm speeds - Wipe car with PS paint prep - GlossCoat - Bead Maker a couple of hours later
I'd consider doing the finish polishing with foam instead of wool, as foam tends to leave a finer, more uniform finish. Or, you might be able to get away with doing everything with M210 on the yellow wool.
You can top Gloss Coat with Bead Maker, but I would wait until it has fully cured (like a couple months). Gloss Coat should be topped with Opti-Seal after a couple hours to help protect it while it cures. It is also always recommended to use the prep product from the company that manufactured the coating, so Optimum Paint Prep would be best in this case. P&S Paint Prep -> P&S Inspiration, GTechniq Panel Wipe -> CSL, etc.

Guys, I'm a fan and all you're showing here makes sense. But, please, don't call Beadmaker a sealant. It's a great gloss and slickness enhancer detailer with synthetic polymers for short term protection. Upselling it as a sealant will confuse and upset people already using true spray sealants. Also, Auto Fanatic's Secret Weapon is a similar AIO and removal is recommended to be done using their Beadmaker equivalent called 007.
