Last week I used Uno Protect on my 2004 Dodge Ram that I purchased new. So almost 20 years of hand washing, never a drive through car wash, and always it stays in a dark garage. And never anything for paint correction besides hand applied wax. First I stripped the wax with SD-20 degreaser, followed by Sprayway glass cleaner. Then I used a brand new Rupes yellow foam pad, even though I had the wool pad Jason used, and I quickly learned that 3 dots of product was always followed by a quick final spurt as I closed the top - it will squirt out as you close the top, so you may as well spray it on your pad. It came out awesome! And it was easier and quicker than the hand waxing I’ve been doing. I have the fixed rotation Rupes machine because I have a fiberglass trailer and fiberglass sports car, both gel coat, so I’ve been following the boat detailers and using their recommended products. This was my first time using the Rupes on clear coated paint and it was so easy, the next job will be my wife’s Rav4. Fun times!
It's really good to see Jason he's such a wealth of knowledge in the industry. I can see how this product is for everyone, from the DYI/Enthusiast who has a DA in his hand for the first time, to the professional. As an enthusiast I as well have "Tunnel Car Wash" friends who want thier car to look nice.

I’m a huge fan of Rupes products. I bought an LHR15 MKIII 3 months ago. Game changer for me. Their polishers, pads and materials are the best by far. My next purchase will be the 3 inch Bigfoot polisher. After 39 years of detailing full time these Rupes products amaze me

AT 19:34 Jason starts to talk about keeping it dry for 3-4 hours. So, how does that play into using Bead Maker with it during the wipe off (from your other video you did on the blue SUV)?
The guys actually go into detail about that in the "addendum" clip we added to the beginning of that combo video. (The part where the guys are sitting in the white room before the "actual" video starts) Here's the clip: ua-cam.com/video/FOtwEflgsjI/v-deo.html
Mike - If you apply the Beadmaker after 20mins, the Beadmaker polymer sealants will just replace the Uno ones. If you wait longer, the Beadmaker will add extra protection. That’s my understanding anyway!
I would love to see how this would work with the Buff & Shine Uro-Fiber pads! With that pad having the two different types of microfibres, one for cutting and one for finishing, it would be interesting to see if you can get the best of both worlds with it and the Uno Protect.
Did you ever follow up on that? It’s an interesting concept, I’m building up my arsenal right now and looking get a polishing kit going so I’m picking up any tips and knowledge. The combo in the this video seems great for a beginner like myself 🤘🏽
Levi, after the recommended four hour cure time can this be topped with Wowo's Crystal Sealant? I know you demonstrated that Bead Maker plays really well.
Sealants as a rule should always go on first on a clean fresh surface. So i would say this would not be a product to layer up with as you'll cut your sealant away.
@@jrsanchez2049 I would say if you’ve used uno protect as a finishing polish you would wipe down before applying a sealant. Or just leave the protection provided by UNO as is and top up with wax as required.
I don’t put any pressure on my mk3 15 and it cuts amazing for a one step I personally use 3D one with blue wool rupes lad best one step correction compound out there and works amazing with their pads the IMO is more of a sealant I’ve used it it does barely any correction because it’s for ultra fine finish it’s not a one step correction compound even their blue compound dosent really cut all that much I use thier pads not their compounds if I’m cutting I use nothing but M105
Something I wonder about All-In-Ones/Cleaner wax: When you perform a traditional paint correction followed by a wax, paint sealant, or coating, you have to do an IPA wipe to take the oils from the polish off the panel, so that the paint protection can bond to virgin clear coat. With the Cleaner Waxes, that step is missing, so you question well how that protection is married to that clear coat.
awesome information...thank you much...love to learn from Jason...he gets right to the facts about products and how to use them! keep up with these informational (teaching) videos!! where was anthony? lol
If your cleaning your pad you can knock it out with one but you also need to decide if your removing more clear coat then you might want two or three just so you don't have to worry about the final result marring up as much
You can't clean a wool pad when the product is wet even with a compressed air. Just throw it to a bucket with water and grab an other one. I would say you need 5-7 to finish a car.
I have been watching Rupes videos and these guys are the best in the business. I have learnt some very valuable tips about polishing from these guys than anywhere else.
I have a question for you guys does the new DA polish get effected with colder temperatures? Reason im asking is im currently doing a correction on Mercedes CLS 2018 model. Swirls are being corrected but the straight scratches are very hard to correct even after three seperate attempts! The temperature in the building is around 12 degrees. Any help be appreciated! Thanks
