The ibar leaves it pure flat but as soon as you hit it with the scratch pad you're creating hollows all over it. I've never seen monocouche look great in glancing sunlight because of this. I try and leave it off ibar only.
It can be applied to brickwork with the use of our ProRend Prep basecoat. Feel free to drop us an email if you would like some more information: info@sas-europe.com
Hi John, thanks for the message. These types of renders are generally classed as 1 coat with 2 passes as the application is wet on wet. A traditional 2 coat system would be a scratch coat left (often for a few days) to fully cure before applying a 2nd coat. The advantage of the "1 coat" system is you can do all your application in one go.
why are these videos always on ground level! why cant they show someone rendering of a scaffold 30m up on a gable end on a zip up tower also i never scratch the render when its dry ii always use a sponge float just before it goes off. No waste. you put 15 bags of render on and scratch off 5 bags in waste!
Hi Paul, thank you for comment. The majority of our application and instructional video's are filmed at our training centre which is all at ground level, I appreciate the working conditions on-site can vary but this is designed as a general overview. Regarding the scratching, this is how this product is designed to be finished as floating can cause the fats to come to the surface potentially resulting in an un-even or patchy colour, removing the top 1-2mm reveals the true colour and allows a consistent finish.
First one to actually show how the render should be before scratching

Looks good
Is this only suitable for block or can it be applied to brickwork ?

Once coat, but there are two coats.
