Great example of how a video should be done. No ha has, cutesy cartoons, or annoying music. Just straight forward useful information.
I appreciate it!
Agreed, I was thinking it reminded me of listening to Norm Abrams.
It's so refreshing!
Totally agree!
Pushing the bit back to produce a cut that hides the drawer slides is pure genius!!! I just built a bunch of pull-outs for my kitchen. Wish I had watched this video before I made them. I would have definitely preferred the hidden slide look!
I've watched a lot of videos on these drawer lock bits. Yours is the only one that I felt was worth actually taking notes on. Very clear, with everything I needed and nothing I didn't. Thanks!!!
Awesome, thank you!!
Straight to the point. No nonsense video.
Well done John.
I'm so glad you shared this. I had no idea this was an option, and I can't wait to start knocking out boxes for upcoming projects. Thanks man!
Actually , about the best method for drawers and boxes I have seen . No complicated measuring .
Appreciate you putting this video out. Think I'll change my drawer assembly.
Excellent post, thank you for sharing.
This drawer construction reminds me of the Peter Hall shop and the way they constructed Port-Orford-cedar drawers for the kitchen and pantry in the R.R. Blacker House (1907) designed by Greene & Greene in Pasadena, California. The Gamble House, too.
Thank you, John great clip.
Tried this bit years ago and never dialed it in to work. Now I'll try again
Excellent video with clear instructions
I've already made a few drawers using this bit and your vid explained where I goofed! Thanks for sharing this info..You are a top 10 for UA-cam reference!
just found this video. this is straight forward, easy to follow and saves time. I will be looking into investing in one of these router bits. set up block is a great idea to save time.
Very nice. Explanation was spot on.
Thank you very much for this awesome video. I plan on using this method to join plywood for my virtual pinball cabinet.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Solid stuff. Thanks Brother
This is indeed THE best way to make drawer boxes. I’ve been doing it for years this way: all you need is glue. Using the small version of this router bit makes it possible to use even thinner boards (I use 9.5 mm. boards). The resulting boxes are just as strong as their thicker counterparts, especially if you use this method for the bottom as well: you can then make the bottom flush with the lower edges of the sides, adding some millimeters to you storage space.
Thanks for the video!
Haven’t used it for the bottom I’ll have to try that 👍🏽
Excellent video. Every day we learn.
Great video, John! Thanks a million for posting!
Thanks for watching!!
Well done!!
That seems like such a simple and easy drawer building method. I love it!
I have made a lot of drawers using that bit and it’s always worked great! As you said set up blocks are a must! Thanks for sharing John!
Absolutely! 👍🏽
Excellent video. Thanks
Thank you, John. This is a great video on using what always seemed like an impossible to properly adjust router bit.
Glad it helped!!
I’ve seen this router bit for sale for like ever but have never seen it demoed in a video before. Great choice and great work.
☝️😎👍
Thanks for watching!
Oh great, another router bit I have to buy!!!!! 🙂Looks like a great solution and fast. Thanks
This is great, thank you. I really like the way you can hide the drawer slides so easily. Thanks for the video.
Me too!
This is a very well explained use of these bits. You made the operation easy to follow and showed a lot of options as well. I’ll be watching for more videos from you and thanks.
Thank you!!
Awesome tutorial on a cool router bit. I think I will try it out.
Great bit, great drawers when finished. Thanks for this one, John. Love your content.
Thank you!!
Thank you so much. I'm gonna have to get me a set of them bits
this was exactly what i needed- when i needed it- thank you
I am so glad I found this video. I'm about to make a ton of drawers for my shop, and just hated the idea of having all the slides exposed and/or having the pocket holes exposed. The special router bit isn't cheap, but will easily pay for itself by not having to purchase wood for drawer fronts! Thank you! (And I subscribed for more tips in the future.)
Awesome thanks for watching!!
Great point about the cost of wood for drawer fronts!
@jimparker871, this is a nice method for drawers but more so if making solid wood sides. If you’re using plywood and don’t want to see any exposed wood, then the half/half/half method completely conceals everything, even plywood layers from the front/back pieces.
Well done 👍
Wow, that's a great method for what looks like simple drawer-making. Fantastic explanation of the use, setup, and troubleshooting when using that router bit. Also, a pretty cool option for deepening the side cuts on the fronts to conceal drawer slides. I'm going to have to buy one of those bits this weekend. Thanks for sharing this~!!
Thanks for watching!!
Your tutorial was excellent. Tone and presentation was spot on
Thank you.
Thank you!!
Thankyiu fir sharing ❤❤❤

❤thankyou sir
No problem!!
I never heard of those router bits and they really seem to simplify the built of drawer. Thanks for sharing.
Underrated method for sure!
Campeón!!👏👏 Idea espectacular! Una forma genial de salir de los cajones convencionales👏👍👍
Great video! Easy to understand for a beginner like me! Thanks for sharing! 👊🏻
Thanks for watching!!
This bit came with a cabinet set I purchased years ago but I've never used it. Thanks for the demo. Looks like I've been missing out. Going to give it a go. Lot of positives to this style of drawer.
Give it a try man!
Great demonstration John. No flannel and filler, distilled down to exactly whats needed! Brilliant! Just discovered your channel & subscribed.
I'll be perusing your back catalogue of videos over the next week.👍👍
Thanks I appreciate it!!
Looks like I will be trying this method in the next day or so, I've only ever done dovetails and that was like 20 years back.
I like it, thanks for sharing!

I used this decades ago, it worked well
Great demo. Thank you!
Thanks for watching!
I’d actually written off a lot of these kinds of shaping bits for a long time bc fussing with them to get good/repeatable results took longer than going without. Watching this has restored my faith in the world 😂
Awesome! Great examples and demonstration. Clean video too.
Thank you!
Awesome Joinery 👊🏻
Best and most clear set up video i seen on this.
😊😊correct❤❤
Awesome thank you!
Great demonstration of that cutter. I like the red/green patches on the router plate....
Tape to make the insert flush with the top haha my only complaint with that router table

Great video! I've never used that bit before, but I want to try one now. You make that look very easy to do. Thanks for making it simple and with basic tools that most woodworkers would have.
Thanks for watching!!
Great tutorial John! I need to get one of those bits!
Thank you!!
Love it bro.
Cheap stupid me opted to NOT order the set up blocks! Thank you for doing this video, you helped me out big time! Definitely subscribing!
Fantastic demo! agree with all below just great instruction!
Thank you!
Thanks dude, will be sure to pass this on to my buddy in Cuba. This could be great for wooden window frames he makes... yes windows in Cuba are still wood all around, including the slats.
great information
Great work John, thanks for sharing. You got yourself another subscriber!

Awesome, thank you!
I am in the process of moving an L shape desk I made a couple years ago into a small cubbyhole area in my garage and planning on building a couple carcasses for placing drawers in. I thought I was limited in options to make the drawers until I saw this video,I am definitely going to go with this method when I get to making the drawers. Thanks for the awesome content.
Thanks for watching!!
thanks!
Great video!
Thank you!
Well done video! Just the facts. Very clearly presented. Funny thing, I already know how to use this bit, and I had no intention of watching, but the clarity and efficiency drew me in, and before I knew it, I'd watched the whole thing. I don't use this bit often, so I need to re-think it every time. I'll just bookmark this instead. Thanks!
Haha I appreciate it!
Set up blocks are a must. I have the Rockler version and it took forever the first time. Fortunately I was smart enough to make some blocks for future projects. They do offer setup blocks for sale to match the bit but I didn’t want to pay the extra money. Good demonstration.
Instructions are definitely lacking out there on how to initially set them haha. So easy once you know though
Set up blocks are great, but they MUST be the exact same thickness of your material.
I always make my own setup blocks for each material thickness because it does take some time to dial in makes second run much quicker
This is incredible! It’s worth getting a router table setup just to do this!
Thanks for watching man!
That is a neat wood joint. I may have to give it a try. Thanks for the educational video. Cheers
Thanks for watching!
Great tips thanks for sharing

Thank you for being up-front, to-the-point and honest. I'm sick of these UA-cam wanna-be's, which you are definitely NOT. Much appreciated Sir.
Haha I appreciate it!!

Great video!! DD
Very well presented. Great information. Looks easier than the table saw method. And right on time for me. I am about to build 6 drawers. Thank you for sharing. Have a great day and stay safe.🙂🙂
Thanks for watching!
Thanks!
Thank you!!
Very good video. And as another commenter it was to the point just discussing the issue you were dealing with and no funny cartoons or annoying music
Did that many years ago. Made all my kitchen drawers with that.
Nice!!
