Everyone just needs to run to Brisbane, I was in NSW over Christmas and it feels like it was a fever dream because the smoke haze and orange glow made everything so surreal. The day after I got back to Brisbane my dad called to tell me they were evacuated. This is terrifying, but if you want to help look in to wildlife rescues in your area! They need things like blankets and small socks for mittens and bags for makeshift pouches. While the devastation to human life and homes has been huge, the devastation to our wildlife is incomparable 😔

This story is absolutely insane and my heart breaks for the victims and their families. What makes this story so real to me is that I grew up in Long Beach and I know exactly what areas, schools, etc that were mentioned

Oh my gosh my mom is once her friends husband/ boyfriend was in an accident in a car a was decapitated and my mom had to tell her friend and bust out laughing while doing it to the point of crying and I was horrified luckily her friend had the same reaction. It’s some kind of copeing mechanism to traumatic shock . As a teenager I was horrified and told her if she ever did that to me I wouldn’t forgive her . flash forward to my lung collapsing and we knew because I had a x- ray and was sent home then called to come back and she was cracking up and making sarcastic remarks about how I got sent home when my lung was collapsed she was in shock they had sent us home I was freaking out then started laughing at her jokes / sarcastic comments and realized I do the same thing when something is so dark or frightening or sad sarcasm is my defense I can’t not laugh a well placed sarcastic comment. I tried to tell her stop it was making it worse but said it sarcastically and set us off on a whole new round of laughing at that point I was more afraid of getting into a crash because of how hard she was laughing. I’m glad she has understanding friends because mine weren’t.
