True, it gives me the strangest feeling of mortal vulnerability, death and hopelessness, but in such a beautiful way.

At first listen I remember loving this album. But when I realized that the deathbed is just a metaphor for a dying relationship, that killed it for me in a way. The songs are still beautiful but… I don‘t know. This overblown comparison makes me think, oh come on, it’s just the end of a relationship.

Hospice dropped at a really rough time in my life, and it really helped me confront some things. I will always be immeasurably appreciative of it. To The Antlers: thank you for making an absolutely phenomenal album. To the NPR staff: thank you for sharing this again a decade later so it can reach a new audience.

novababy i’m 20 now but when i got an antlers tattoo when i was 18!! they were a band who stuck with me through my teenage years and i knew for sure that they had shaped a huge part of who i was so i never even second guessed getting a tattoo dedicated to them

They came back to DC for Hospice10th anniversary show 2 years ago. Tickets were all sold out & I even lost my wallet right before, no cash, bank accounts locked. Luckily, a stranger online passed me his ticket and agreed to let me reimburse later. I managed to witness this masterpiece in its entirety from the front row, hearing the audience around me breaking into tears in the dark. It is still the best concert to me until now.

I'm so happy to see that there are a lot of people that enjoy The Antlers and to hear that their lives have been impacted by the album Hospice.
I still listen to The Antlers a bunch. Hospice is the album I discovered them from. It was the first time I realized that there exists music that makes me feel less alone when I'm sad or depressed and it's beautiful to listen to all at once.
I would love to see The Antlers return to Tiny Desk with all the music and experience they've had since Hospice. There is beauty and passion in all their albums.

Oh my! The first song metaphorically placed me in a clear state of mind standing at a large body of water pregnant thinking about the future 😳
The 2nd song reminds me of a poet written words not being understood as they are delivered after their departure from this world. He seemed to be so caught up in his thoughts at the end, I was thankful for the cymbal sound.
The 3rd one, I love that drum beat. Oh Silvia... his voice range at the end is fantastically painful. Whew!
This is the first time I've been exposed to this artist. Thanks guys. Stay safe during this pandemic. 💕🙏🏽✌🏽

i shouldn’t be watching this video. i directly associate this album with some truly terrible stuff, and on top of it being an incredibly heartbreaking album on its own merits, i had to make the decision to not listen to it again for a long time. and yet here i am again, trapped inside silberman’s beautiful vocals. :,(

Amo demais! Arte salva. Não é pra entender, só sentir.
