+Dylan stanford Yeah. I certainly notice. I won't automatically judge a guy just based on that but it is nice to see a guy who grooms himself well and is concerned about his appearance. As much as we tell ourselves it's what's on the inside that matters, outside appearances do factor a lot in judgements that we make about ourselves and each other. But yeah, he has nice eyebrows.
your listening to a great song, with a great sentiment behind it, sung soulfully by a fantastic singer, and you talking eyebrows!!!!! Save me, someone please!!!!!!
Hozier bridges the gap that many people see between music and other Art. The songs that this man creates are just as beautiful, timeless, and significant as Cathedrals built in the middle ages, as paintings done by the old masters, and by poems written long ago. His music is Artistic in a way that a lot of musicians today fail to capture
Why is it always about SINGING with females . The singer is always the most musically ignorant one in a band . Mozart , Bach , Paganini , Miles Davis , John Coltrane , ect. ect. didn't sing ! Try mastering a musical instrument ! The dumbing down of music ! If any of these musical genius's of the past were alive in today's dumbed down world they would never win a Grammy for record of the year !
mslindsvlog Music ISN'T all about SINGING ! Bach , Mozart or Miles Davis would have never made it on " The Voice " or "American Idol" . The dumbing down of music ! People are to lazy or stupid to try and master a musical instrument anymore but everyone want's to be on stage . Go buy a musical instrument and learn to play it well ! Sorry if that was to negative for you princess .
It's over, what does any of this even matter for? When you're dead, rotting in the ground, you're not going to think about how music is dumbing down the people of today's society. I think you're taking this out of proportion. Can I not make a comment saying, in my opinion, that he is a great singer without getting some guy like you bashing on me and throwing a temper tantrum over it? I feel sorry that you spend your day attacking people over the internet for harmlessly making a comment that had no intentions of starting any sort of shit. Take your aggression and pent up anger onto something more productive than starting a fully fledged argument on UA-cam. Stop prodding me over a comment I posted days ago, it's completely irreverent.
I saw Hozier live in Paris a couple of years ago and it was one of the absolute best concert of my life. There's something so thick, tangible about his music. You can actually feel it around you, through you. Beautiful.
A lot more to be loved about the whole of his music. The haunting banshee like wails of the backup singers and musicians, the ring out of the distortion on songs like " A Week" and "Like real people do". I'm glad , very very glad, he's proving to a lot of people that he is not and never was a one trick pony. I hope he keeps sharing with us. The world is a much finer place with his music.
I’ve watched this so many times over the years but after FINALLY getting to see him live it’s so amazing to see how much he has grown. He’s much more confident in himself and his abilities now and he’s his confidence shines through while he loudly talks about issues he believes in and shares fun facts he likes and all of those small things! Not gonna cry but yeah it’s just so beautiful to be able to say I’ve listened to his music for over half of my life. Cherry wine truly changed me as a person when I was in middle school going through really hard times.
I've watched him live, and one thing that stuck out was his ability to project so clearly. I'm not sure if this is further indication of this but look at that mic placement! It's like 1 meter away from him! Maybe it's directional but still... He's constantly moving around and it's crystal clear. Amazing.
reading the other comments, I wonder about why people are so negative. This is an attractive man with an amazing amount of talent. personally i like the long hair, and I am very fond of the Irish accent. On top of all that, he is an amazing poet. So let's celebrate that. Why do people have to be so negative about admiration shown to others? For gosh sake can't we just celebrate the human condition? And admire the heck out of extraordinary talent as this man has?
People insist on putting down others when they are unhappy with their own achievements, or worse, look at someone and see an "other," someone or something they don't understand and fear.
putting people on pedestals isn't for everyone. The more people are content with their life, the easier it is for them to acknowledge and accept someones talent. But why does everyone always have to like the same thing as everyone else? Why can't you accept that there's different people from different walks of life.Digustibus non est disputandum.I like his music and appreciate his public appearances, not that it matters.
What an old soul. Pours out through his voice and songwriting. Sounds like he has listened to some excellent debates and done his own research.. Refreshing.
he is so cute omg. Like when he´s singing he has the most powerful voice to have ever existed and then when he has to talk he´s just like the lowercasest talker anyone can be.
the fact that I have heard the song Cherry Wine for years and JUST NOW learned it's about an abusive relationship...the guitar is so hypnotic and soothing and the lyrics are so gentle that the more sinister meaning really just flew over my head. Well anyway it's a beautiful (but sad) song, and Hozier is extremely talented!
Dear heaven, you don't realise how he's grown and matured since Take Me To Church released and I miss this younger version of him but I also love who he is now and I'm so torn
Iréne-Mari van der Walt I saw him twice last year and I think he’s grown a lot in terms of confidence on stage. He also interacted a lot with the audience at both shows which was cool

Coronavirus laddies watching in 2020 so we can appreciate this all over again
yup
Read your comment, giggled... Then realized it was 7 months old. My face never dropped faster.
@@katelynhutchinson6726 it doesn’t feel like it’s been that long at all
i was about to say yeah but its 2021 now
@@mrobinson1255 Tomorrow is inauguration day 2021 just to put a historical point on it.
Damn.. I shouldn’t have watched this in an emotional mood.. I lost my son in a car accident last July.. his birthday is May 10.. I find peace in this music.. thank you NPR - tiny desk concerts are a huge part of my healing ✊🏼🙏🏼👏🏼 Edit 🎬 this band is a godsend
Steve Kutz I'm so sorry for your loss Mr. Kutz. I hope music continues to help you heal 💜
My birthday is also may 10th. I'll think of him and you then and hold you in the light
My sincere and deepest sympathy about the loss of your child. I just can't and do not want to imagine your grief. I pray you continue to find healing in music. 🙏
Love to you and hope your strength returns and healing is deeper than the hurt one day
Much love to you and your family ❤️ I hope u are healing. x
Alright first of all Hozier is the one but can we all just take a second to realize how bomb his eyebrows are?
+Kanthalina Andreus As a dude, I wish other guys would understand that getting your eye brows done is actually awesome. Women notice. :)
Save me, someone please!!!!!!
gotta find out where he gets them threaded 👌on point
+Elizabeth Abate IKR?!?!?
10 YEARS AGO??? where does time go omg
Omg when he sang the ooo's in to be alone my jaw literally dropped- he's amazing
THOSE HIGH NOTES HIT ME LIKE A TRUCK HOLY SHIT DUDE TALENT PERSONIFIED
PREACH IT!!!! I AM ABSOLUTELY SWOONING
Hozier has outstanding projection in his voice, holy hell. He is so wonderful
Why is it always about SINGING with females . The singer is always the most musically ignorant one in a band . Mozart , Bach , Paganini , Miles Davis , John Coltrane , ect. ect. didn't sing ! Try mastering a musical instrument ! The dumbing down of music ! If any of these musical genius's of the past were alive in today's dumbed down world they would never win a Grammy for record of the year !
wow, I just said he was a good singer. Haha, relax!
mslindsvlog
He also plays a f'n MUSICAL INSTRUMENT and you didn't think that was important enough to comment on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
mslindsvlog
Music ISN'T all about SINGING !
Stop prodding me over a comment I posted days ago, it's completely irreverent.
zero mistakes, all the feelings, my god this guy is insane.
I saw Hozier live in Paris a couple of years ago and it was one of the absolute best concert of my life. There's something so thick, tangible about his music. You can actually feel it around you, through you. Beautiful.
Watching all of these while in isolation. This is my favorite, so incredibly beautiful
amelia same here
Tiny Desk is a god send 👌
amelia loves this comment! You’re so right he is incredible!
I Agree to Your Terms well said
To Be Alone is a masterpiece. How does he carry his own bass line on the E AND play the A - e strings like that? Wow.
Props to him. The main riff on To Be Alone is pretty difficult to play while singing at the same time.
the kind of person you'd want to fall in love with you
Ikr, I’m in aww. 🤭
Mmm no
Hozier looks the type to write Hozier type of music
I love hearing the hints of Irish folk in some of his tunes
I’ve watched this so many times over the years but after FINALLY getting to see him live it’s so amazing to see how much he has grown. He’s much more confident in himself and his abilities now and he’s his confidence shines through while he loudly talks about issues he believes in and shares fun facts he likes and all of those small things! Not gonna cry but yeah it’s just so beautiful to be able to say I’ve listened to his music for over half of my life. Cherry wine truly changed me as a person when I was in middle school going through really hard times.
UA-cam had the AUDACITY to interrupt Cherry Wine with an ad smh
Right?!
try ublock!
We need a new Hozier Tiny Desk session! 🤩
After 6 years this is still one of my favorite episodes of Tiny Desk Concert and Cherry Wine one of my favorite songs ever 💛
Take Me To Church ~ 0:00
To Be Alone ~ 4:33
Cherry Wine ~ 10:28
Thanks
Thank you!
Thank you!! 😊 🙏
Huge props to that back up singer as well. So great being in that small area and keeping a note.
She held the arrangement together. Beautiful.
His personality is so sweet. And he’s got an incredible voice, along with those gorgeous lyrics. Amazing talent.
I've watched him live, and one thing that stuck out was his ability to project so clearly. I'm not sure if this is further indication of this but look at that mic placement! It's like 1 meter away from him! Maybe it's directional but still... He's constantly moving around and it's crystal clear. Amazing.
My kind of music. Chill, powerful, passionate, and soulful.
Evan McElroy ever listen to Tiger Lou band ?
reading the other comments, I wonder about why people are so negative.
Why can't you accept that there's different people from different walks of life.Digustibus non est disputandum.I like his music and appreciate his public appearances, not that it matters.
absolutely love this guy and he is very handsome im a man and can comfortably say that plus he's irish aswell!
I literally haven't found any negative comment scrolling this far now, guess your comment worked well here ^_^
Valerie Fadok and how can he be even hotter with the glasses?
If I ever have the money,I’m paying Hozier to play live with his guitar, and will just stand there, depressed
🫡
Bono, Damien Rice and Hozier ; Ireland has some of the most brilliant songwriters in the world.
go home Django, you're dead
Autistic Crybaby Jesus dude, spoilers.
Autistic Crybaby
Really , he's dead like Wes, Grant , George, Marvin , Bach , Mozart , ? Yes but their music lives on !
Lol I agree with everything except bono.
and Van Morrison of course.
His talent is unreal. He's one of the few artists that sounds better live and in person.
It has been 10 years since he performed a tiny desk. Hopefully he decides to do another one in the future!!!
hozier has so much control over his voice and just such amazing talent, he’s underrated.
What an old soul. Pours out through his voice and songwriting. Sounds like he has listened to some excellent debates and done his own research.. Refreshing.
he is so cute omg. Like when he´s singing he has the most powerful voice to have ever existed and then when he has to talk he´s just like the lowercasest talker anyone can be.
his raw voice is so amazing like he just naturally and seemlessly outdoes his studio voice
the fact that I have heard the song Cherry Wine for years and JUST NOW learned it's about an abusive relationship...the guitar is so hypnotic and soothing and the lyrics are so gentle that the more sinister meaning really just flew over my head.
He just release his new album Wasteland Baby! I hope NPR invites him again to sing his new songs.
He's 6'5" and makes that strat look like a toy. Jesus.
Strats are small tho
Is he gray
It isn't even a strat
@@paolocastiglione5803 the fuck you smoked buddy?
I’m 6’5” they’re just tiny as is
His voice is so clear and pure, love listening to him sing
literally got chills as soon as I opened the video, this man's voice is a spell.
His voice literally brought tears to my eyes, every aspect of this performance is bloody brilliant.
tiny desk concerts make me fall deeper in love with music over and over again
