+Xavier H I believe the intro music was something added by Working Designs when they localized the game, so it wouldn't be included on the Japanese Soundtrack. It's also why some of the names ("Ra," instead of "Lars," "Taran" instead of "Tarn," etc) don't exactly match up with the names we see in-game. Similarly, the animated intro movie was also added in by Working Designs as it's actually just a bunch of stuff from the ending movie (at a lower framerate to save disc space) set to the new music. They talk about it in the manual, and it's actually an interesting read. Sorry to respond to a three month old comment. :P
im going to use those for scenes in my pen and paper adventure! Thanks for the stamps! went here for the nightmare theme specific, but this is even better
I played this game in 1998 and I was a teenager going to school and wanting to go back home to play this game. I spent so much time finishing some levels, they were pretty crazy, out of logic sometime, but I enjoyed the weirdness of the puzzles and gameplay. I feel very nostalgic listening to this music and I can remember all of it. When you finished the game, you had the chance to hear all of the music by entering in a house of the village that had all the collection of the ost. Unforgettable. I also created a comic out of Alundra. I just loved this game and I felt myself a dream walker.
Game is absolutely fantastic. A masterpiece in the genre. Dark, complex story. Great music, tight controls, very difficult but also rewarding. Just awesome.

Those who really dig for the obscure games of the past that never became popular... know that Alundra is a kick-ass game. Most will never even discover its existence.

Nostalgia levels just hit the roof. This game was a nice change of pace compared to the turn based JRPG’s that were out at around the same time. This soundtrack complimented the gameplay well and added a nice touch to the atmosphere generated by the plot settings and story telling. Has to be up there in the top ten for most impressionable games of my youth.
One of my fav game of all time with memorable music aswell. Its quite popular when it came out but somehow its getting lost in the mist these days and nobody knows of its existence. I wish there's proper sequel of this one, since the Alundra 2 is basically totally different game.

People calling this a "zelda clone", seriously, rpgs about fantasy lands already existed before Zelda, just because that game got popular doesn't mean this is a "clone" the story is unique, Zelda is a typical "go save the princess" story, safe for kids, Alundra story is fucked up, the enemies are fucked up, the puzzles are joystickillers, you are not able to save everyone, you cant trust anyone, that ending with the survivors praying at the church for Alundra while he goes berzerk against Lars was epic, and im still in love with Meia

Why couldn’t they make Alundra 2 similar to part 1. Gosh will we ever see alundra again? I can imagine a whole trilogy for a movie. With puzzles and adventure and unlocking powers
I was so proud of my self when I finally finished this game. I used the text only guidebook at was widely available back then, which made things kind of interesting. it's a shame that the last gilded falcon was only achievable through chance.
No, the official OST doesn’t include the intro track. Psygnosis (the US/EU publisher) added that themselves. The Japanese version just played the Opening Theme that also plays on the title screen.
One thing I have to admit... I never finished this game. I remember trying hard to, but I lost track of where I was supposed to go and what I should have been doing. I think I got stuck at a puzzle? Clearly, this game is a Zelda game for adults. I wonder if I'd be able to finish it now that I'm older.
Good stuff. I have the game myself and got stuck on a boss and have noway of getting past it. It was pretty hard game but awesome game graphics too. Music was very memorable especially The Wind that Shook the Earth was really cool.
+nobeac Aw, that sucks :( Which boss you got stuck on? My favorite is either The Wind that Shook the Earth (awesome title as well) or Village of Inoa. Kline's Nightmare is awesome too.
I don't remember it was so long ago I believe the 3rd dungeon where you have to avoid a bunch of things and figure out a certain puzzle regarding the earth or planets if I remember correctly?
+nobeac If it's the puzzle I'm thinking of, you have to stack icons for the earth, moon, stars etc in the correct order. Took me a while to work out as well (think I eventually solved it at random).
even from the music alone you can get that Zelda was a huge inspiration for this game. Underrated but hard as fuck game 14:00 perfect music for a stealth game (but for some reason it reminds me of that Road Runner game for SNES)

But is not the theme during the intro featured on the OST?
No, the official OST doesn’t include the intro track. Psygnosis (the US/EU publisher) added that themselves. The Japanese version just played the Opening Theme that also plays on the title screen.
@@FreshPaprikaz I see, thanks for the reply. They did a good job though, that theme really suited what happened on the screen.
44:29 best boss battle music ever written
2018 :O that MUSICCCC
One thing I have to admit... I never finished this game. I remember trying hard to, but I lost track of where I was supposed to go and what I should have been doing. I think I got stuck at a puzzle?
Clearly, this game is a Zelda game for adults. I wonder if I'd be able to finish it now that I'm older.
N O S T A L G I A
Damn you can tell how Japan loves spanish stuff, that title screen sounds spanish as fuck, interpreted in their own innocent way :D It's cute.
What a great game
Took me a while to work out as well (think I eventually solved it at random).
best game in play station hestory
Memories. Thank you
poor Jess...
Amazing! Thanks!!
first time playing it for ps vita I like it a lot very challenging and some parts piss you off very much and keeps you going.
I bought three copies of the game on eBay until I found ONE that included all of the manuals and was in excellent condition.
go remake of alundra pleaseeeee
Just playin through this game again.
Alundra rocked so hard!
even from the music alone you can get that Zelda was a huge inspiration for this game. Underrated but hard as fuck game
14:00 perfect music for a stealth game (but for some reason it reminds me of that Road Runner game for SNES)
Kohei tanaka is the best
