The Donkey Kong Country series is one of the few snes games that has digitized sprites that isn't just a gimmic and is genuinely fun and most importantly has some KICK ASS MUSIC
I always preferred the music from the Genesis and NES over the SNES. The SNES sounded like the music was being run through a cheap hollow box. There was no presence. Honestly the highs sounded muddled, mids were ok at best and the low end was lacking when compared to Genesis titles. SNES never reached the level of The Golden Axe series or Streets of Rage series. The Super Metroid OST is a great price but it sounds like trash.. compare it to how it sounds in the mega drive.. it’s night and day.
Stickerbrush Symphony at 32:52 is a masterpiece. Even for me that always played only Mega Drive/Genesis, I know how to appreciate a timeless music like this.
This is my entire childhood in one video. Man the nostalgia is overwhelming. Nothing but smiles and tears of joy listening to all this compiled together. Wow. I wish my kids understood. I feel bad they won’t ever have an entire childhood shaped by greatness.
32:52 the best symphony stickerbrush, David Wise is a genius. O que esse cara fez em DK1 DK2 & DK3 foi surpreendente. Battletods foi legal, mas nenhuma trilha sonora supera a de DK2. The best!
Final Fantasy III (VI) by Nobuo Uematsu - Terra at 23:52 brings a tear to my heart. It is truly a masterpiece with its somber tone and its abality to fill me with joy and sadness of the journey ahead.
YES! FF6/3 was a formative gaming experience for my childhood. I had a single save file with like 700hours on it, maxing out every esper on every character, min/maxing stat gains... I wish I could somehow have kept that save file.
Killer instinct! My favourite fighting game ever! Rare did some amazing work on the Nintendo. Listening to that music just bought back so many memories of sitting on the floor in front of the tv with my brothers playing that game. Thank you!
Sprite games usually have this on their side: if for nothing else, the graphics at least are watchable. CGI/poligonals have to be really good, or hide their imperfections really well to resist the test of time. (Same for cartoons: bad cell/flash animation may hide their problems better, but bad CGI is a pain in the eye to watch!)

The SNES and Sega had some of the most badass video game music of all. When you walked into a arcade during that Era. The music would make you say. This is definitely my scene.
Lots of great cuts here, but Aquatic Ambience and Stickerbush Symphony are in a class of their own. Those tracks straight-up move me to tears, they're so beautiful.

The killer instinct one is impressive for snes capabilities like … really impressive … if you remember when that game came out n64 was already almost done and rare was like “yeah let’s take snes to the limit”
The best hands down is DKC2... though my favorite theme is not stickerbrush symphony like everyone else... mine is Mining melancholy... best SNES theme.
I don't know what it is about this mix but it's just awesome. Sure the source music is great but just the song selection and order is really jiving with me right now. Great to listen to while working.
No Mad Racer from Top Gear? That's the best of them all. That track was so good it was resssurrected in a current game called Horizon Chase Turbo, in which they hired the same composer (Barry Leitch), since it is a game totally based on Top Gear series and it's predecesor, Lotus Challenge.
