- During the 1989 season, WGN aired a half-hour special on Cubs play-by-play man Harry Caray, who soon would be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as the recipient of the Ford C. Frick Award. Here's a short bio on Harry: bit.ly/1ENTLEp.
I wish time traveling really existed seeing these old commercials and watching these old programs really take me back to being a child of the eighties I'm 37 years old and this reminds me of when I used to come home from school and stay at my grandmother's house in the afternoon and watch Cubs games it just brings back so many good memories what happened to our country and the Good Ol fashioned games and shows we used to have
Amen.
The greatest ambassador of baseball even today.
thank you for posting this
long live Harry Caray!!
All this video seems to lack is a "Victory Auto Wreckers" commercial.
Harry and the Fans... A perfect marriage!
God Bless Harry
Because without WGN and Harry the Cubs don't really exist. Harry dragged a lot of fans to the hall park. RIP Harry. !!
17,500 for a nissan in 1989? 😮
Hello Harry Carry and Guest and Cubs and how they got there name !!!!!
Nice video 📹 👍
Well holy crap, White Castle family paks weren't even $10 in 1989? I bet they have to be $4-$5 more now, 26 years later! :o
White Castles were 0.37 in 1989.
3:18 LOL
Steve Stone says that Al Michaels knows Harry Caray "intimately" at 12:53. It's an awkwardly wrong choice of words. I think that it's funny.
I'm here because of Will Ferrell.
Hi Jeff, do you have the 1984 Cubs video where they play U2's "Sunday Bloody Sunday" over the lowlights of Game 5 of the NLCS?
I know what you're talking about, but unfortunately I don't have it. I'm sorry. Wish I did.
The only U2 song I'd ever heard was "New Year's Day", so when "Sunday Bloody Sunday" started up with Game 5 it was brand new to me. And once the chorus started I was all chills.
