How could anyone thumbs down a video from a friendly man showing every single step of how to disassemble your GLOCK? Great video. Anyone can watch this and understand.
Both the slide and frame dis and re-assembly are the best video tutorials I’ve ever seen. Especially knowing now how the Gen 5 differs from previous generations. So informative!!! Thank you very much. Outstanding.
Had an intermittent problem with my trigger not returning to battery. I was on the verge of sending my G17 back to Glock. This video saved me the hassle and embarrassment. The problem was that I did not insert the cruciform trigger bar under the curved lip of the silver leaf spring in the trigger housing, but left it on top after cleaning and assembly. I bought Lenny Magill's previous Glock disassembly video a few years back and referred to it during my troubleshooting, but it had the old cruciform arrangement with the spring hooking into it as did many of the other Glock videos that I researched online. So I still had no clue what the problem was until I watched this video. This is the best instruction -- especially if you follow along. Thanks Lenny.
I don't know why it was so difficult to find someone disassembling the spring in the trigger housing, but Lenny helped make it *so* easy Sincerely appreciated 👍
Thank you for taking the time to literally strip the whole gun and show how to properly take it down. I have always been nervous to take apart my lower but after seeing this I now know what to do and that it's relatively simple. Your videos are great and I appreciate how thorough you are and how well you film. Best take down video on youtube.
This is my roll of painters tape....there are MANY like it but this one is MINE- L.o.L.... Good stuff. Thank you Sir for your willingness to educate. I'm sure enjoying the gen 5's I have at the moment. The 34 is an especially accurate weapon. It's still new, but my 19 has 6000 rds' thus far and has earned a lot of trust from me. Thank's again for always being on the screen when I need conformation or help.
I am always impressed by the elegant simplicity of Glock. Thank you for your videos, many people take apart Glocks on UA-cam. But none with the thoroughness, camera quality, and lighting you bring to bear
Great job Lenny, really professional, friendly, knowledgeable, experienced and comfortable with the subject. You know your Glocks! I'll refer to this often I'm sure.
Lenny! Glad to hear y’all made it to higher ground!! Thanks for the help; made some mods to an old Gen 3 over the years (thanks to your instruction) and just got my Gen 5 G19 slide lock lever the way I want it thanks to this video! Keep it up!
ol Lenny Magill taking apart a Gen 5 Glock (or any video explaining something) is like ASMR lol. 5mins of needed content, 25mins of him slow dancing you through it. lol
Thanks so much. I was working on the trigger of my wife's glock17 and couldn't get the trigger right. You saved me from pulling out what little hair I have left!
wiggling the slide release is the BEST tip. Comes out easy with just a little wiggle while you press on the pin. Just like Lenny said! Thank you Sir! 😀
THANK YOU for these Glock-smithing videos. They have helped me out numerous times. I just installed the extended controls on my new G45. This video made it quick and painless.
Very excellent teaching and modeling the assembly and disassembly of the Glock. I NEEDED this video; took mine apart to polish the trigger steel and put it together WITHOUT PUTTING THE CRUCIBLE IN THE SPRING. Didn't work well, was concerned I had messed up my brand new Gen 5 Glock 19. I don't roll with $640 I can toss, so I was concerned. This answered my question and solved my serious dilemma. Thanks Lenny!
Thanks! I just used this video as a guide and installed my own Black Yikes! Was going to take it to an armorer to have it done but after watching I figured I could give it a shot. The front pin on a Gen 5 is not as easy to re-install or at least I had a few minutes toil getting things lined up and the pin in, but it did go in and the pistol ops checks OK.
Thanks Sir for your video . Very informative and easy to understand. Been a firearms instructor for 30 years. Glock is a great gun. Thanks again Jerry LLanes...
Thank you Lenny, I appreciate your recommendation and not mess with the spring in the trigger housing. As you pointed out; plastic does wear down if you mess with it.
The trick to reinserting the slide stop lever is to compress the coil spring by inserting a small diameter punch through the slide stop lever hole in one side of the frame while pushing the slide stop in through the hole on the opposite side of the frame. This is much easier than trying to compress the coil spring from the top of the frame.
My theory about the one pin thing is that Glock is in the process of simplifying the internals in an effort to make a single multicaliber drop-in fire control group for a major redesign in a Gen6. It would be similar to Steyr or the Sig 320 system, that way customers could buy the serialized internal, and then buy different sized 9/20/357 frames and uppers. A different trigger module would be made for the larger caliber 45 ACP, 45 Glock, and the 10mm offerings. So, potentially, you could just buy two different drop in trigger groups and have access to every single Glock model out there.
tuberaider I hear you, but I actually wonder if there is a market for it. Caliber conversions, frame changes, etc I find are more gimmick in real world than value added. You can already shoot 45 acp, 10mm, and 40 in a 21 frame, and 9mm, 40, and 357 sig on a 17 frame. The cost of a new P320 “grip module”? About $50-$70. The cost of a stripped Glock frame (only rails, serial plate and polymer shell)? About $90 dollars. Plus I can switch out trigger components easier on Glock. I’m not sure Glock has much left to improve with the release of guns like the G19 MOS FS
Great video! I found that with the trigger pin insert, once you get the trigger, slide stop, and block put back in, sliding a 3/32 punch in the hole will line everything up nicely. Then carefully remove and slide the pin in. Will snap down into place easily.
Videos awesome man!! Just taught me step by step how to completely disassemble my Glock 19 Gen 5! Amazing gun and company!! Thanks for the video buddy this some next Gen stuff 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Was fearful taking my first handgun apart to the frame. This video changed that feeling entirely once I had it apart cleaned and back together in minutes.
I'm glad I saw this! I just picked up a Gen 5 G34 and thought I'd messed something up when I popped the trigger out to polish it. Thanks for the education!
Great video, it was very helpful. I took apart my 34 gen 5 lower then popped in a new trigger and connector. Now off to the range to see how she runs. I had to subscribe. Thanks Lenny
Super helpful Lenny thank you so much! I am building my dream carry Gen 5 G19 and videos like this truly help for customizing my glock. Just wish the glockstore reps would email me back so I could get it customized directly from you guys/glockstore :)
Lenny is hilarious! He called the magazine release spring a "roll pin" a few times. He uses the words "capture" and " pressure" when other words are more appropriate for whatever he's describing at times, and ends up over-using those 2 words. He tries so hard though. I do still learn from these videos.
Slide lock spring. Should be called Fly Lock Spring. Mine flew like a bat outa hell during assembly. Lucky I found it on the windowsill. You’ve got some darn good take um and put um back together again for Glocks.
So does Lasermax make a Guide Rod Laser for this that comes with a replacement spring and take down lever that work together? (that looks like it can't move left to right because of that spring....and would be a BIG PAIN to install)
Hi, I just disassembled and reassembled however whenever I went to function check it, the trigger would reset whenever I would pull the slide back just a hair instead of where it would normally reset any help is appreciated
Question Lenny .Glock 26 gen 5 I was trying to unloading and the round where not ejecting out normally has to use a lot of force.Any suggestions please. Thanks
Great video. I'm very good disassembling gen 3's and 4's. Just got the new g45 gen5. And was wondering about the crucible of the trigger bar. And the slide lock, how in the hell, do you get that out? Well thanks to you, now I know, Very informative video, thanks for the info!
Ok, so if anYone can answer , I would appreciate it. So I just got a glock 20 and I watched the video on oiling the glock 20. If I'm suppose to clean it before first use, what do I actually clean and how? Already everyone (including manual) says to not clean the copper off the rails on slide... but everyone (even the manual) explains it as If the gun is dirty. On barrel and bore: Should I just wipe everything down with a rag and re oil? Or should I clean with solvent then re oil? (The manual speaks of using oil, never mentions solvent) On the slide itself , should I just wipe factory set oil off as much as I can and re oil parts that need it? I'm already not even wanting to wipe the slide rails at all because of that copper, but I don't think a rag would dig that deep, do I add oil where that copper is at all?... part of me just want to think that all I should really do is clean that barrel, and the rest after It has been fired for a while. I will go find the cleaning video,.maybe its explained there. P.s. this is my first glock, so please forgive my ignorance .🇺🇸
Forehead slap! Had the slide lock upside down, and was trying to wrestle the spring underneath. The spring flew across the room and is no where to be found lol oops. Thanks for the detailed video
Thanks for the vid! Very informational, was doing a field strip and maintenance after the range with my brand new Glock 19 gen 5 and during reassembly I notice my ejector is lightly rubbing against a groove on the back plate and I was wondering is this normal??? not sure if it’s because of the bent shape or if it’s defective but I wanted to get some feedback before I contact Glock about it, again it’s nothing crazy just a slight concern that my ejector is slightly grazing against my back plate during assembly Thanks in advance
Mr Lenny, shouldn't there be a tension ratio between the fire pin assembly coil and the trigger assembly coil, since each pressures the other at a different moment? If so, shouldn't these two coils be sold as a pair, depending on their tension ratio?
just got my G17 G5 blue label standard plastic sights front slide serrations. Glock made some good changes don't like the plastic captive trigger return. Been a Glock armorer for decades. Got to take a new class. many gen 3s with parts. will have to get a separate tool box for this one. Not convinced about the barrel. Think it is more ballistic ID. I know a lot of really good shooters who cannot out shoot the stock barrel 9mm Major really have to het customer barrels.
The slide stop spring is not the same as the plunger spring. The plunger spring is slightly shorter and different color and weight. The slide lock spring is same as the slide stop lever spring
How could anyone thumbs down a video from a friendly man showing every single step of how to disassemble your GLOCK? Great video. Anyone can watch this and understand.
Liberals.
I agree ,,, idiots
Commies
Maybe he talks way too much. 30min to remove 2 pins.
@@akaTheDevil 30 minutes to disassemble a dozen parts the size of a coin
This is one of those videos I keep in my library, under Glock’s, and return to for a refresher course on my G19. Thanks, Lenny.
Not a bad idea, as well as the disassembly/assembly of the slide assembly.
Both the slide and frame dis and re-assembly are the best video tutorials I’ve ever seen. Especially knowing now how the Gen 5 differs from previous generations. So informative!!! Thank you very much. Outstanding.
Easy, sour sig fans 😂

I took the Glock Armorer's course about 20+ years ago, but now we may be getting Gen 5's, I'll do it again. thanks for the handy videos
new to guns and just used this video to learn how to disassemble and reassemble, much appreciated.
thanks for telling us all why we came... comments are so lame these days

Nice review. Just when I think there is too much detail, I learn something. His explanations are concise, technical yet easy to understand.

Just got started into customizing Glocks and MAN was this a life saver. Thanks, Mr. Magill!

Has to be the easiest pistol to strip. Thanks Lenny this two part video was very helpful.
I've used this video many times as I strip the receiver to replace parts. If anything it's comforting to know I'm going step by step.
Great instructional video on takedown and reassembly, with a lot of bonus information. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Lenny. I appreciate the videos. I’m in the Deep South so I hope to visit your store’s new Nashville, Tennessee location soon.
Well, I don't thumbs UP many videos, but you got me on this one. Excellent. I own this exact gun so enjoyed seeing it took apart.

Do I need to take the pin out that holds the backstrap still to get the trigger out?
Now is there any actual need to replace the mag release button with a metal release button?
Question Lenny .Glock 26 gen 5 I was trying to unloading and the round where not ejecting out normally has to use a lot of force.Any suggestions please. Thanks
Thank you ,great video 🦾👀🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
It’s like that on the locking block so it can still be interchangeable between other glocks
ok so where do we buy the take down lever spring if it flew out and we cant find it..
Great job Lenny. I really appreciate your concise and kind instructions.
You saved me a lot of frustration with trigger pin 📌

QUESTION...must you take lower fully appart to replace lock lever hate the factory one i habe on my glock 21
Wish u went more into the mag release part of it, literally the only part I had issues with on my 43x
There exist an another video where the mag release button get complete dismantled.
@@rostigernagel4266 ye, he uploaded it not long ago, seen it thanks

My Glock trigger assembly on the rear does not click in place like yours? Does that happen with anyone else?
I need a 3.5 pound double diamond connector for my Glock 42 where do I get it
Lenny's video's kick ass. Thanks..
Great video, thank you! And now I know that I need to get a Gen 5-specific extended slide lock.
Can you replace the Gen 4 trigger assembly all of it the into the Gen 5
Thanks for the vid! Informative as always.
This video was super helpful in installing a new takedown lever.
Why would anyone stay in California if you own a gun store? Very informative. Thanks for the info. I did my 19 right along with you.
What do you recommend using to clean the parts of the lower? I know many just use alcohol to clean the slide assembly parts, same for lower?
Mr Lenny, shouldn't there be a tension ratio between the fire pin assembly coil and the trigger assembly coil, since each pressures the other at a different moment? If so, shouldn't these two coils be sold as a pair, depending on their tension ratio?
